Wanted to get on the computer last night but hubby was crabbing that the light would bother him cuz he was getting ready to sleep, oh brother! (I feel your pain nikkiddy!)
I seem to be craving carbs pretty badly. Last night I had oatmeal for dinner which seems like it wouldn't be so bad cuz it is low in cals but it doesn't seem to work very well for me. Usually seems to make me gain for some reason. The cravings are probably a passing thing. I have come to realize that these things come and go and if I don't let them get me down I come out okay in the end.
Calories -- Too many, 1800+. I had bbq ribs- homestyle. Other than that, it wasn't so bad
Thanks VK for sharing the Dance. Woohoo Tabby! Congrats to all the losses and accomplishments.
Walking - 85 minutes.
I feel like such a liar. 10/1-ZERO walking.
I did get in an hour of heavy duty gardening. I know that brought my heart rate up and helped me burn almost 400 calories doing it....but it was not walking. I was way too beat after I finished to get on the treadmill. I WILL do my walking today.
i was really proud of myself today, i walked 3 miles for the first time in..well...ever that i can remember! actually it was 3.3 miles...and i wanted to quit after 2 but i knew i wouldn't be able to walk tomorrow or thursday due to odd work hours, so i pushed it today. but i survived, so i was so happy! no wi know i can do it, which is good, as i am planning on doing a 3mile walk/jog on thanksgiving and also a 1 mile fun run on 10-27 (if i dont get forced to work that day!)...anyhoo, i am SOOOOOOO EXCITED right now! i just found out a few hours ago that i won 2 passes 2 an exclusive autograph session with my all time fave sports team, the Dallas Mavericks (NBA) on this thursday night!! i can't wait! i went two years ago and it was friggin awesome!! my heart rate will be increased for sure, does that count??? LOL
10-1: 20 mins walking
10-2: 62 minutes walking :) i will try to remember to post my measurements tomorrow since i will be getting off work early tomorrow night...

So I lost my wallet yesterday while grocery shopping, and some nice person handed it in to a post office near by this morning. I reported my credit cards as lost after I searched my apartment and car for 3 hours for my wallet, lol. Everything worked out well in the end, thank gosh.. and hey, there ARE nice people in this world, who knew?!
I signed my boyfriend and I up for a 5km walk. It's for City Kidz (local charity) and something for Haiti.. I can't remember the name of it exactly.. but YEAH! I was going to do the 10km, but I'm going to start off easy. Maybe in the spring I can run, ![]()

Okay... i have a new task I would REALLY like everyone to participate in. This may answer some questions, BLJ, about grams and what not so listen up :-) THIS IS MY LIFE SOURCE!
1. Visit www.mypyramid.gov
2. On the left there under "Subjects" click on "my pyramid plan"
3. Fill out all boxes and click "submit"
4. If the "Please Note" box pops up, click on the 2nd link "To gradually move toward a healthier weight"
5. Once you get to this screen, this will tell you HOW many oz's or cups depending on the food group you should aim for in each food group each day. Scroll down to find out other important information. Please remember that this will most likely be aimed at a 2000 calorie per day diet (which is often too high when trying to lose weight). But you can begin to know how much of each you should be intaking and you can find other useful links as to what types of foods you should be eating.
Let me know your results and findings... Are you suprised? Excited? Do you find this site useful? Better than the old food pyramid.
BLJ: Hope that answers your question a bit! :-) Great job everyone! Keep up the hard work!
yeah -- I've been using this for a while (the link is in my journal) -- you can use it to come up with calorie allowances also, just like here -- and I think it will specify what the servings are based on that (ok, it's been a little while since I went to that section...).
It's good, for many foods it gives you a visual representation of what a serving actually is -- particularly good for those of us with a portion control issue.
There is another resource you can use in conjunction with this one:
http://www.dietitian.com/ibw/ibw.html
You punch in the information and it will come back with recommended number of grams for fat-protein-carbs as well as a some of the micronutrient stuff
Walking - only 15 minutes! SIGH
Has anyone ever had the sensation of something being stuck in their throat - for weeks???? A week ago last Thursday was when I first noticed the sensation. Then, it felt like it was something small, like maybe a nugget of grapenuts cereal or something. I noticed it at work right before I was getting to go home, and I hadn't eaten anything since lunch, so I knew it was not food. I went home and drank a lot of water, but it did not help. I have had the sensation ever since, and it seems to be growing. Now, it feels about the size of a large grape. It doesn't feel round and smooth, but rough like a small piece of sponge or something. I cannot see that far into the back of my throat, just at the base of my tongue, slightly under where my tonsils used to be on the right side.
I thought at first that it was the beginning of the soft tissue infection that I had, or an allergic reaction, but I have finished the course of antibiotics from my doctor and the pain and inflammation of the soft tissue infection is all gone, but the feeling of having something stuck in my throat remains! ARGH. It does not hurt, but it is such a strange and irritating sensation!!!
Any ideas anyone??? (naughty me, I did not mention this sensation to my doctor, because I thought it was just a part of the soft tissue infection, so I don't know what he would have said)
10/2 0 walking. It's been non stop raining here, yuk! Wish I had a treadmill. Would I use it? That's the thing.

well at least I got that in. It was clear when I left to walk the dog and it started to pour. I only had on a sweatshirt (had a hood at least!). I should know better than to head out without a rain coat around here.
you guys are awsome, I'm glad I can hang out with you all!
