Roll Call June 2009 Excercise Challenge!!!

Quote  |  Reply

July Challenge posted: Roll Call July 2009 Exercise Challenge!!!

How much do you want to exercise a month?
How can you push yourself out that door when the last thing you want to do is go to the gym?
Easy - Challenge yourself!!!
Pick a goal and work towards it!!!

What is exercise you ask?

It is whatever you do over and above your normal everyday activity. If you start taking the stairs instead of the elevator due to your wanting to improve your health this is exercise - if you park further from the door and
walk extra - this is exercise. However if your work requires you to be on your feet running around all day - this is lifestyle and not exercise and should be added to your "activity level" in your account. I think its important for you to be honest with yourself so you will truly get the benefit of this challenge.

1565/1750 - slow week. Workouts delayed by family issues - oldest daughter was hit by a wrong way drunk driver while traveling on business. She flew from Savannah to Dallas to stay with us a few days. Distupted everything. Thank God she wasn't severly injured - brusies, aches, nightmares, whip lash but no broken bones.

Welcome aboard shaye1984! Congratulations those who have achieved their goals! earth_mom, hilary88, kkfrench!

bobev: Thanks for updating.  I decided I needed to get some more activity in today so did 45 minutes on the bike and then was going to update but you beat me to it.  So glad your daughter only received minor injuries.

6/24:  60 min.

Thanks for keeping up despite everything, bobev! Glad she wasn't seriously injured . . .

6/23:  rest day

6/24:  60 min elliptical and 45 min treadmill

825 + 105 = 930 / 1000

Unless I am an incredible slacker this month, I should make my goal. This is the first month since I started grad school over a year ago that I was able to keep my exercise going and keep up with work and homework.

I love this site!!

thanks, bobev! I hope I can maintain something like this pace in the coming months. This challenge has helped me be more active daily. I appreciate all the moderators' work to keep this up!

1615/1750 got a run in this morning, finally. Should reach goal after Fri boot camp and Sun run.

Thanks guys! I appreciate the throughts, and this challenge. Has helped to keep me focused inspite of the car accident and other daughters fall wedding surprise.

1935/2500

Ok, so it seems I put a goal that is much too high. This is my first time here so I guess I should've thought the math through before setting a goal. Ah well. I'll be close, but not likely to make goal. 5 more days.

june 19 - 24 = 300 minutes

729+300

1029/1000 !

yeah! and a week left this to the month. i'm going to have to up it to 1250 next month, as i'm counting stretching and mobility exercise as exercise, but its pretty mellow in the big picture, and as i get stronger, its not as much work as it used to be (imagine that!).

1200/2000

50 min., elliptical; 35 min., jogging; 35 min., spinning.

1385/1250.

6/25:  30 min.

Total: 1,048/1500
