GOAL WEIGHT:

AGE:

DAY YOU'D LIKE TO WEIGH IN

Name: (Jamie)

State: (Ohio) - like to do this so I don't miss anyone for weekly stats. Several times, people have missed out because of the time zone difference. So, if you want to see your name in LIGHTS, when you have accomplished so much, please provide it.

If you'd like to give a little brief information about yourself that would be great!  Possibly meet new people to be friends with. (ie.,  attempts on losing weight, special dietary constraints, motivation for this journey things like that).

SW for Challenge:

GW for Challenge:  275   10% OF YOUR CURRENT WEIGHT IS SUGGESTED) I AM DOING LESS BECAUSE I LOSE AT A SLOWER RATE

Novembers Challengers 7% of SW unless it is midway then 5.5

December Challengers 5% or 4% of SW.  This is to keep you motivated to stay with the challenge.

Experts say 10% of your body weight is reasonable to lose in a 3 month  period.  You must take into consideration if you had already lost a reasonable amount of weight that your may hit a plateau during this challenge.  Don't get discouraged.

Height: 5'3

AGE: 48

Day you like to weigh: Saturday

One challenger was wondering what is reasonable for weight loss.  The answer is 10% of your current body weight.

Welcome one and all!  This challenge is a 4th quarter challenge for the year 2011.  Anyone can join and there are no rules, except pick a day that is good for you to Weigh in Consistently.  Don't worry, if you miss a few.  The key here is to log at least once a week.  So go ahead and tag this and come back!  If you are new and need help let me know and I will give you information on how to tag the topic.

Look at the below comments for information durng the challenge

I will post the tips in the THIS journal post and MARK EDIT: SEE COMMENT and I will reference the comment number so you can just scroll to it, if you'd like.

  6. Edit Comment 281: STATS TO DATE: DECEMBER 13- 2011

YOUR POST IF YOU WISH TO BE INCLUDED ON THE SPREADSHEET WHERE I POST THE WEEK"day's.  THIS DOES NOT HAVE TO BE YOUR WEIGH-IN DAY.  My goal is to post total lost two days after the month has ended.  This will enable those in different time zones to not be left out.  At the end of the challenge I will post a range and people's name.

One thing I decided to do to the challenge is to adjust your formula to your actual highest weight. Afterall, you have lost more than your initial weigh in.  I think this is fair and encouraging.  I will ask you before I adjust the formula, so its up to you.

So hurry up and get your name added!  Whats stopping you?

Take care and Best of luck. . . . God Bless.

NAME:  Murrill

STATE OR COUNTRY:  NC

LITTLE ABOUT YOURSELF:  I was always slender--even fit--until I approached my late 40s and added a few stubborn pounds.  Then I quit smoking in 2007, and I simply ballooned!  I have been so frustrated for nearly five years, unable to budge an inch!  I now believe that I was in starvation mode that was punctuated by intermittent binges.  Finding CC is the first thing that has worked, and it is very compatible with my lifestyle.  I've lost 25.8 pounds since 06/19/11.

HEIGHT:  5'7"

CURRENT WEIGHT:  204.8

GOAL WEIGHT:  For this challenge I'd like to lose 15 pounds, but my long-term goal is to reach 145 pounds.

AGE:  53

DAY YOU'D LIKE TO WEIGH IN  Saturday

ETA:  Correct typos so you you guys would not think I was illiterate.

Well today was my first weigh in at the start of this challenge and since it has only been a couple of days since I joined I guess I am ok with the fact that I did not lose any weight but glad to say I didn't gain any either. For me right now it has been coming off a little slow now, since I actually started my weight loss journey at the end of June. (started weighing in at 225lbs, so am happy knowing that as of right now I am 185.2lbs) I will have try extra hard this week. Good luck to everyone Smile

Hello everyone! So I suppose it's been a few days since I joined and I was really, really assuming that I would have put on weight after the birthday weekend I had. I had cake and booze and pizza! My boyfriend came to visit for the weekend! We did lots and lots of walking over the weekend too I suppose. We walked about 20,000 steps each day! Anyway I'm very happy with my first weigh in, I'm just hoping it's not a fluke!;D

Hi Sophie,

Just saying hello. Awesome start, girl. Don't think of it as a fluke. It's an encouraging boost. Way to go with the walking. Keep it up. I should do more of it, but one km. is about all my ankles and hips can manage at the moment.

I have to say that I'm a little ashamed and perhaps that is a good thing.  When I weighed this morning and realized that I was going to have to report a weight gain on my first weigh in of my first challenge on CC I thought twice about continuing with the challenge.  Then I thought better of it and know in my heart that having this accountability will be good for me.

I made some really poor food choices over the weekend but can be proud of the fact that I carried through with my commitment to get more excercise and took the dog to dog park both Saturday and Sunday.  Today is a new day and a the start of a new week so.... onward I go!

Weight for October 3 - 290.2 (+1.8)

Hi Debra,

I am glad you decided to continue despite your misgivings. I know just how that feels. Just remember that setbacks are not failures. Some one said that the failure lies in giving up. We are all in the same boat here and need encouragement and prodding or we would not have joined this challenge to begin with.

All the best to you,

 Grace

*************

I only lost about 5 lbs last quarter. During my tri training, I'll admit that I justified eating more than I probably needed. I've kept this mentality up and need to reign it back in. This quarter is big for me, because at the end of it, it'll be exactly 1 year from when I started. I'd love to round off the year having lost at least 50 lbs. We all know that Q4 is the most difficult time of the year, what with all the holidays and holiday parties. Let's do this!

I'm especially pleased with my weigh in this week because I have been out of town visiting family, and I had to make some difficult food choices and abstain from certain foods that I knew I couldn't moderate well (ice cream!)  And it paid off.  Every test passed is another reinforcement to the new lifestyle.

Gramite - Thanks for the encouragement! I weighed a little bit more this morning but only about half an lb so I'm pretty content! =) I try to do as much walking as I can and I always carry around a pedometer to track how many steps I take! I find the more walking you do the easier it gets (obviously) but of course you have to do it in small step ups. I started at trying to walk 6000 steps a day and now I walk 12000 steps minimum a day! =)

I only lost a couple of pounds in the last challenge.  It was frustrating but I will win this battle!  I am training for a bunch of 5k's - 1 in October, 2 in November, and 1 in December.  I am working hard to build my stamina and strength.  Lets do this!!!!

169.3  (up 0.1).  Sorry this is 2 days late, but lots happening here and I forgot.

Looks like we have a much smaller group this quarter than the previous 3 quarters...

I'm thinking that the upcoming holidays are scaring people off :) Don't worry! I'm already thinking of healthy options for Thanksgiving. Why we've never had roasted butternut squash or butternut squash soup is beyond me! I'm looking forward to including some healthy alternatives alongside all the traditional fare. As for Halloween, go ahead and allow yourself a few squares of 75% or more dark chocolate - delicious and guilt free. Or just try this... last night when I felt an urge for a binge coming on, I went into my closet and tried on a few of my skinny clothes. It really reminded me what all this hard work is for. I'm also looking forward to seeing family members who I haven't seen for a while now that I'm 40+ lbs down. Keeping all these things in mind the next few months should really pay off.

Well, Welcome back everyone who has been in previous challenges.  For those of you that are new, you're about to get the support of a life-time.  We have some pretty great cheerleaders.

Now a little about posting and when I message you.

First of all some information I consider private and will personally message you, please respond to that message.  If it is something you don't mind posting as a comment feel free to do so.

Don't forget to read the comments that are made by viewing the Original post before commenting/posting.  Some information is motivational some informative, some praises.

Take care all and have a wonderful weight loss journey.

Yes we have a much smaller group this time around, but hopefully that means everyone is dedicated to STICKING WITH THE CHALLENGE THE WHOLE TIME.

I hadn't thought about the clothes thing.... I have a variety of sizes in my closet from my climb up in weight that I just kept saying "someday I'll fit into that again"... what motivation that would be just to take them out of the back of the closet and hang one or two nicer pieces in a prominent place.... there's same dang cute clothes in there. Wink

Oct. 7 Comments: I'm hoping this rise in weight is due to water retention in my muscles from starting a new workout routine.

Oct. 8 Comments: Well the soreness is down and so is the weight, so I think that my theory was right about the water retention.
