Alrighty then.... I can be happy with that. I started using the elliptical at the beginning of last week... doing at least 30 minutes a day but that seemed to really increase my appetite and actually my desire for sweets. (is that normal or am I using that as an excuse?)
I'm trying to maintain a 1000 calorie per day deficit between intake and output but I think the Holidays are going to be tougher for me then I thought. Already there are treats everywhere at work. As long as I continue to average a loss then I can live with that.

Langda - congratulations on your loss this week! When I first started exercising, I was really hungry all the time. I found more protein helped, even though I wanted sweet things. Fat free Greek yogurt was my go-to quick protein fix.

Sorry for the delay in posting! On Friday, my husband surprised me with a trip out of town for my birthday. It was delightful, but I haven't gotten caught up on anything since! II weighed in before I left, but I know it's higher now because my eating has been way off course since then! I did better today, and I've been keeping up with my exercise, so I'm hoping I can still turn things around, by our next weigh in. I need to really get it in gear though.

Yay! You started using your elliptical! That's a major accomplishment. And yes, increased exercise does make you hungry. But hunger doesn't always mean that you need to eat. Your body's tendency is to try to maintain your weight and not let you lose. So, it's naturally going to start craving additional calories to make up for what you are burning.
My advice, especially for fighting the urges for sweets, is to drink lots of water. And if that doesn't work, eat fruit. For me anyway, those cravings are closely tied to my water intake. And I confuse the thirst for sugar cravings a lot. Lean protein is also a good fix because it fuels the body without adding too many extra calories. Just be sure to add less than you burn.

I've had some computer problems and I revamped the spreadsheet. I want to make sure everyone is on it that has been logging. Of course there are 8 people I removed because they haven't logged for at least 3-4 weeks. Grammite. I know where you are!!!! LOL...
And for those who have been faithful. How does it feel? We are coming around the short stretch of the race and there are some good numbers. We have lost a lotal 88 pounds. that is a bit under 30% of our total goal weight figures. YAY. We have lost 94.9 pounds and the GW is 3775.6

Yes a GAIN. I broke the trend I was on, but that is ok. I have a good meal planned for Thanksgiving and it doesn't consists of the norms. Stuffing, potatoes, corn no dessert, no rolls. The basics. I may go Thanksgiving day and purchase salad and have a bowl of salad.

Jamie, you have a great attitude. Brush it off and plan your next meal. The holidays anymore for me are like every other day as I get older and the family is spread all over the US. No family get-togethers like we use to when I was young plus both my boys are working. I too wish everyone a blessed Thanksgiving, a Merry CHRISTmas, and a Happy New Year. Sorry about the late post. That is Friday's weight though. Actually it is the weight since last Sunday. I was doing great on the weekend, then just stalled. No loss for the whole rest of the week. I'm happy it was a loss and all, but i wish the ball would have kept rolling. Oh well. Everyone is doing great, and congrats to all. Happy Thanksgiving. I'm just gonna try to keep steady this week.

I find this embarassing as I have increased in weight over this quarter by 6lbs. It has been too much wine and beer.

Weight on 21 Nov 236.
I'm not going to give up but will try to get back to my starting weight before Christmas.

I have been trying to drink lots of water this week, and I have a cold. Don't know if the cold makes a difference, but all that coughing, sneezing and nose blowing must use up calories!
