10 pounds by Thanksgiving!

Quote  |  Reply

Hey Calorie Counters!

I am looking for a small support group. I had been really successful with calorie count this time last year and lost 25 pounds. I put about 10 of that back on over the summer and I'm ready to jump back on the wagon. I would really like an accountability group because it really helped me in the past.

Thanksgiving is approaching quickly and I would definitely like to look great when I see the family. The holiday is exactly 10 weeks away so 1 pound per week would be great for me.

Weigh-ins will be on Tuesdays so tomorrow we will get after it!

918millerje - I agree -- weekends are rough! The structure of the work week helps me stay on task with my diet. BUT the extra time available on the weekends allows me to be more active. So as long as I don't succumb to the "all or nothing" mentality, it balances out.

I'll admit I'm not really looking forward to tomorrow because I didn't do a great job of staying on track over the weekend. My typical pattern is to do really great during the week and "ruin" it over the weekend.

What do you guys do to stick with it on the weekends?

Well i will go first

SW>169.8

CW>167.4

GW>150, will see how I feel  at this weight and decide if I should lose more.

I'm in...I was making Thanksgiving a good time to reach a new goal.  I'd lost 40lbs since last Aug., but after going on vacation, I've had a hard time getting back in the zone.  I think I put on about 4-5 lbs...ugh.  Anyway, here goes:

Starting Weight:  221

Current Weight:   188.3

Goal Weight:  165

I'd love to lose 10lbs by Thanksgiving!

Thank you very much Betsyt and 918millerje for the welcome and Betsyt I hope everything works out for your mother in law.  It has to be such a hard road and so hard to watch.

So the doctor is sending me for blood work and yes my blood pressure is up.  She wants to get my thryoid checked out.  I will be doing the blood work tomorrow morning.

I weighed in yestarday at 202.8

Today I weighed in at 201.6

I am 5'8

35 years old

I have 2 boys getting ready to turn 3 and 7 there birthdays are in the same month lol.  I work full time +.

Something I find funny when you are not counting calories you gain weight.  When you do start counting calories it seems hard to make it to you daily calorie goal.

Last night made Stir fried Veggies, Boneless Chicken cut up, and Brown rice mixed with some soy sauce, and a beautiful salad.  All Fresh ingredients.  Nothing frozen.

Well, I was at 179 last Tuesday and had a foray into 180+ territory, so I ended up BEHIND where I started for a couple of days last week, but I think I am back on track now!

This sounds delicious! I usually open a frozen bag of veggies when I make stir fry, but I will have to try it with fresh ingredients soon.

I am having it for lunch also since there was so much left over which is great.  Cut up zuchini, squash, red & green bellpepper, mushroom, onion, broccoli, I sautaed  the cut up chicken in a little olive oil then added the veggies when the chicken was done then added some soy sauce didn't have the low sodium unfortunately but its still low calories.  It is just as good today as it was yestarday.

So excited! Not that everything has been perfect (far from!) but because I'm still on here, don't intend to quit, so let's do this!

SW: 151.6

CW: 150.4

GW: (Thanksgiving) 141.6

So, down a little. I hope to be down more next week.

Starting Weight:  156

Current Weight:   136

Goal Weight: (Thanksgiving?!) 125

My weight has gone up a bit since last week, but I am still feeling good. Yesterday I really, seriously, genuinely started my diet. It felt great to wake up this morning without the guilt I normally feel from eating a bunch of crap right before bed. Optimistic!

Looks like everyone had a pretty good week! Once everyone posts their weight today I will post our total loss for the week.

I am little disappointed today I am down a pound from last week which was my goal but I cheated on Friday by hopping on the scale and it said I was down three pounds. So I had hoped today I would be lower than I actually am. Don't understand water weight sometimes but here it is.

9/20-173

9/27-172

I am doing really well with diet and exercise which is a great step in itself. I don't need to get discouraged by the silly scale.

Great job everyone! Keep up the good work!

9/20 - 165

9/27 - 162.5

COUNT ME IN! Laughing I want to lose more than 10lbs by thanksgiving. I know that's pushing it!

please, please give me food ideas! I have 1400 calories that i have to eat a day, and I have no idea how to eat them all!!!

Hello. I'm a little late but could use a group if I can still join? There are 8 weeks left if I'm counting correctly...so I'll make my goal 8 pounds. I'm doing better than I used to but my biggest problem is night snacking. Otherwise I stay in my calories. Anyways, this morning: 132.2

My goal is 124 for Thanksgiving.

I've been stress eating lately because I'm making some big changes in my personal life and moving so hopefully being in the group will help me stop!

I didn't know I was supposed to put  my weight on here. Talk about embarrassing. yesterday I weighed in @ 200lbs and I'm 5'3". talk about OVER WEIGHT! My biggiest and worst critic is myself. I'm so hard on myself. my boyfriend hates when I talk about mysef (Ie: i call myself a fat slob, etc) I know it's bad and sounds bad, but i get so frustrated because i feel like I have no self control!
