When you sign up you can include a brief introduction of yourself and state your goals for the challenge. On check-in days, it’s nice to write an encouraging note to the poster before you – no negativity please. Feel free to ask questions, offer advice and share success secrets at any time. We had a great group in the last challenge (hopefully, many of them will be back) and we look forward to having some new, eager people join this challenge.
So, I'll start...
Hi, I'm runyourlife. I'm a married, working mom of three teens. I consider myself to be very domestic - enjoy cooking, baking, crafts, etc. I love nature and the outdoors. I workout regularly - usually running (done 2 half-marathons and several 10k races). I'm 5'-3" and would like to be <125. I've been at this weight loss battle for a long time but I refuse to give up on myself so I'm still here - eternal optimist, I am.
I'm looking forward to working towards our self-improvement goals together. See you Monday : )
Sounds like a plan runyourlife. I'm ladyduece. I'm married, stay at home mom to four kids. We're the same height and looking for the same goal weight area wise so I'm glad I saw this challenge.
I'm less active than I'd like to be after a pulmonary embolism so I'm allowed to do yoga, tae bo and walk/jog. After I got sick I battled getting depressed and the weight started to pile on so here I am hoping for something different this go. I've never been overweight so it's hard for me.
I'm just going to take steps over the next few weeks and hopefully by week 12 I can look back and see the difference.
Hey I'm Amayou I'll be 30 on the 26th of this month :-) I'd like to get to 140 and stay within 5 lbs of that once and for all. No kiddies so I have no excuse for the extra lbs. I'm also running my last 10K on the 4th of July Peachtree road race, and I'd liek to come in under an hour. My previous times have always been a minute or 2 over an hours so I got to push hard this time to break my own record.
Hi I'm Ashley and I'm 25. I'm married and have a little boy that will be turning 6 at the end of May. I love cooking, crafting, fishing, family, and my pets.
I did very well with our last challenge but I've really slacked off the last 3 or 4 days. I haven't been getting on the treadmill and doing my couch 25K the last week. I even skipped calorie logging last Sunday because I knew I went over even past maintaining. So I'm very happy to see another challenge. As always it's nice to see the old faces in our group. To any newbies...this is such a great group of people to set and reach your goals with. :):):)
This challenge will fall right around Independence Day. We are planning to visit our out of state family for the holiday. So I would love to lose around 10lbs in 12 weeks and weigh in at 155lbs.
Good luck everyone. See you Monday!
Hi guys!
I'd also like to join in with you for 12 weeks and hopefully we can turn the group into a maitenance group afterwards.
I'm Madision, I'm almost 5'6, and have gained about 12 pounds over the winter. I'd like to lose 1 pound per week. Right now I'm 131 and looking to lose steadily and slowly over the next few months.
I really need to work on maitenance because I've lost and gained these pounds a few times. Very discouraging. I want some of Runyourlife's positivity!!! I've just finished grad school and looking for a job -- can be stressful and makes me eat junkfood!!! Keep falling on and off the wagon. Very frustrating! Also no kids but have a long term bf who eats lots of junk and likes it in the house. Such temptation!
My plan is to walk for at least an hour everyday, keep calories below 1300, and keep sugar and carb intake low.
Since we've got another week until we begin, I'll be probably be able to get down to 128/129 or so because the first few also drop so quickly (all water probably). So I guess I'll do 10-12 pounds in 12 weeks regardless so I'll have some wiggle room at the end there. 128/129 ---> 118/120
Hiya! I'm Rae. I'm 28 and the last date of this challenge is exactly one month before my birthday, so it's great timing. I'm currently 188-ish pounds, so I'm only about 15 lbs away from the transition to medically "obese" to "overweight," which I haven't been since college. My final goal is 145, as I'm 5'4" with a large frame, and I don't want to set my number goal too low.
I'm also kind of stuck in my career right now. I'd like to have a stable office job, but instead I'm working for my husband's parents, which is great (my in-laws are wonderful) but I need to move on. And if I could get out of the medically obese category, that would give me some killer self-confidence so that I could find myself a new job and not feel quite as uncomfortable at interviews or in business clothes.
Good luck everyone! Super glad I found this group. :)
Splendid! Count me in! ^^
::MeMeMe::
I'm a 22-year old girl, student in crisis, trying to balance partying, studying and health, 5'6'', highest weight 176 pounds (I think), currently hovering around 130. I'm pretty happy with my current body composition, so I don't have any significant weight loss planned for this challenge. I want to get healthier as I've been slacking lately and feeling sluggish accordingly.... while I believe in candy and chocolate and chips and yummi desserts, too much of this stuff makes me sick. I walk everywhere, do bodyweight exercises, occasionally go for a run, I adore jump rope and love climbing.
::goals::
- weight = max 132 pounds (if I gain weight my climbing belt won't fit! :S )
- maintain current 130-ish
- have a proper meal when hungry (no more snack foods instead of dinner!!!)
- chewing gum = max 1 pack/week
- coke zero = max 2 cans/week
- sleep = min 7 hours/day
- stretch a little before bedtime
+ I'll set tiny, weekly goals (if I have any ideas) to keep me in the game.
So that's it folks, see you! I'm going home this weekend so I'll stop by on Tuesday. Have a lovely week. ^^
I'm 5'1" and weigh 143 lbs. I'd like to weigh 120 by the end of June. Today is the first day I started really eating well, so I'm off to a good start!
I'm trying this again!
Hi I'm born2doit2. I'm 25 and currently 138 lbs. This time last year, I was 124 lbs ( having used CC and the previous versions of this group
to lose 10lbs) but due to bad eating I gained back all the weight I lost +4. I'm 5ft 4" and would like to get down to 128 by the end of June.
More than weight, I would love it if my measurements changed. To be honest if I stayed at 138lbs and lowered my waist measurement that'd leave me completely happy.
Lately, I've been lacking motivation but I keep attempting to regain it and as I actually have an event in July that I want to lose the weight for I hope to really stick to it this time around! I intend to weight lift and I fully understand that my weight will not go down right away due to this so I'm hoping that even if I see my weight go up, that won't be give me an excuse to quit.
So, good luck to everyone! I hope we keep each other on track and motivated!!
Hi all returning and newbies!
I'm newly 42 (only 2 weeks!) and 161lbs, and a mother of 2 - age 9 and 7. I started the last 12 week challenge at the same weight. Sigh. I was doing well and dropped down to 157 but in the past 4 weeks things totally fell apart on eating and I gained the 4lbs back! Maybe it's the newly 42 thing? But I doubt it; birthdays generally don't bother me much. Anyhow, my general rule is to only shoot for losing 1lb a week. Being a yo-yo dieter in the past, I find losing slower helps me to maintain better. That said, losing 10lbs in the next 12 weeks would be fabulous. :)
Like born2, I'm struggling to maintain/regain my motivation. I'm going back to logging at least 4 days a week, continuing in this challenge and working on changing other habits. I'm reading "The Power of Habit" by Charles Duhigg and finding it fascinating and very motivational.
My motivational thought for the day: "Victory is always possible for the person who refuses to stop fighting." -Napoleon Hill
Yay! I'm glad to see so much interest. Lots of people = lots of support and motivation. That's great! ![]()
Present and accounted for!!
Looking forward to getting started!
My goals for this challenge are to get into the mid 140's and to increase my physical activity.
I am Kari. 49 years of mental insanity and counting. 5'2" - and a quarter! Hey that quarter counts!!!! My jouney started Jan 2011 at 234. I joined CC in April so I am approaching my 1st CC aniversary!
The support that I have received from my fellow ccers has kept me going through thick and thin ;D.
Look forward to seeing you all on Monday!
Hi I'm Tan. I am a mother of 2 boys (well men really now as they in their 20s). I have always been around the 140lb mark and at 5ft7ins was comfortable with this, however over the last couple of years I changed my job and am now stuck in front of a computer all day and bring stuff home so little time to exercise and the weight gradually slipped on. At my most I was 168lbs but since starting here I am now down to 150.25lb... can't quite get back into the 140s. I also during the last challenge, started to lose weight and in the last 4 weeks put on and plateaued.
New resolve, no more bringing work home and more exercise, which started today with a 30minute run. Having a European touring holiday in just over 12 weeks so need to be slim and fit while wandering around Milan!
Good luck to everyone and go easy on the birthday cake Claire!
I think tantan is my weight loss twin. I went from 158 in the last challenge to about 151, goal weight of 140 :-). I'm 5'6"
count me in, too! i'm suz, and i just turned 30 two weeks ago! over the past year and a half i was able to make some amazing changes - dropped about 15lbs (i went from the low 170's to high 150's, i'm about 6'0"), completed the C25K program and ran a few races - but the past winter months pretty much destroyed my progress (holidays, lack of motivation, rain...blah blah blah...). a recent visit to the doctor revealed that i've gained most of the weight back, and i'm practically spilling out of the goal jeans i proudly fit into last year
goals for these upcoming weeks: get back into the running habit - at least 3x a week! i've already signed up for a 5k race later in the month, so that should help with motivation. i'm also determined to bike to work at least 2 days a week - it's about a 12 mile round trip, so it's bound to help in my quest to get those jeans fitting well again.
nice to meet you all, and good luck!
Hi - I've been in the last 3 challenges, but I was not real consistent with the last one. But I'm here to try again, because I know I need the accountability. I will probably just do one weekly weigh-in as that seems to work best for me.
I will turn the big 40 in a couple of weeks. I run a 10K next Saturday, so am looking forward to that.
I am a stay-at-home mom of 4 and homeschool as well so not a lot of free time. My best time to exercise is early morning before anyone is up, but lately I've had a hard time getting up. I spin 2X/wk which I love and try to run & walk the other 3 days.
My goal is to lose 10 lbs this challenge. My greatest desire though is to consistently eat healthy instead of all the overindulging in between eating well!
See you Monday!
I am in! I like the 2x a week format - it will help to hold me accountable. I am a member of a few other challenges that I often forget to weigh-in so having a set format will be great for me. I have changed my eating habits a lot in the past year but have trouble sticking to an exercise plan as well as with binging/emotional eating.
I am 5'2" and was 118 2.5 years ago when entering college. I am now 128 (down from 132). I turn 22 on the last day of April. At the end of this challenge I hope to have reached 118 and be maintaining that. My ultimate goal weight is somewhere between 114-118, depending on how much muscle I have (aka how my body looks). I hope to be at 120 by Week 10! My goal is to lose 10 lbs this challenge :)
Good Monday morning!
So after a weekend of decedence....
