Excited for this challenge to start! Had a bit of a rough weekend with loads of Easter candy late last night as well as Thurs/Sat night fried food sessions after going out. I didn't buy anything but that didn't stop me from helping myself to everyone else's.

Hi I'm in. My name is John.  I am 53 years old and feel 23.   I am 5'9" and 177lb. I would like to be back down to 165 where I was approximately 2 years ago after losing 100lb. I work out every day and mix it up doing a variety of exercise and weight lifting. I begin swimming lessons in two weeks to improve my stroke. I work one full time professional job and a part time professional job. I like doing anything in the outdoors, fishing, hiking, camping, skiing and gardening. I work really hard to be sure I eat right and try not to eat anything out of a package or at a restaurant.  I live with my wife of almost 32 years and my son and daughter.

Hi everyone! So this sounds like a fantastic challenge! I will be going on vacation in May, and am probably at my highest weight in over 2 years . I am ready to get this weight off for myself, and start listening to my body. 

This Easter weekend was pretty bad, and I am hoping a lot of water weight comes off this week :)

Went to an A's game on Saturday, but managed to keep the snacking/beer consumption to a minimum.   Had awesome brunch on Sunday, but walked there and back, plus to the store (it was beautiful outside!)...at least 4 miles, plus some goofing around on playground equipment.   Satisfied my easter candy craving by making some homemade peanut butter eggs - yum!

Hi All!  I am Gwen.  I would love to join this challenge.  I work from home in the field of Social Work.  I started this weightloss journey on January 15th and just yesterday broke the 30lb mark (30.5 lbs lost so far) but have another 40 or so lbs to go before I hit my goal.  I have been working on my relationship with food and incorporating more exercise and cleaner eating into my routine -- and so far things seem to be going in the proper direction (although I yo-yo from week to week -- I am making steady progress). 

I did workout hard yesterday in anticipation of eating poorly for Easter.  I didn't do too bad.  I still had about a 675 cal deficit despite eating fry bread!  I feel good about getting through the holiday without stuffing myself with too much junk! 

So here goes the first weigh-in for this challenge!

Suzbucket:  Souns like a great day!  Always a challenge to keep your consumption under control when attending a sporting event.  Good job!

I don't know about twins amayou82 I think I am one of triplets with you for the weight fluctuations and suzbucket for the exercise.  I too was running, getting ready for the Great South Run (10miles) and a couple of days before the race I caught the flu and was in bed for about 2 weeks, then the winter kicked in and motivation disappeared!! Anyway like suz I am trying to get back into the running habit and did my second one today in the delightful wind and run.  I will keep a very close eye on both of you to see how I measure up.

Put a couple of pound back on since the last challenge but hey spring is here and I'm ready to hit the streets hoping to get my running bug back again.

Had a great weekend, ate a lot of good food, had an awesome workout, went for long walks, still put on about 5 pounds. Oh and I noticed my scale is broken. It doesn't display the number after the decimal point. Meh. I'll just round it up then.

I'm having a lot of trouble right now.  I think I am probably going to start doing tae bo daily instead of 3-4x a week and see if that makes any difference.  My doctor won't approve much so I'm crossing my fingers the hematologist will let me off the leash a bit more.  I miss running so much and I KNOW that makes me drop pounds so hopefully I can just weasel them in to letting me do that again.  This walk/jog thing for 60/30 seconds is killing me.  I feel like I'm stuck on week 1 of c25k and I'm never getting off of it!  I just want to stretch my legs and run...and run...and run... and then walk when I don't think I can run anymore!

I don't know what else to eat or not eat since it's all whole grains, brown rice, chicken, turkey, very little red meat... veg... water.  Everything you're supposed to do. 

Don't think it's possible to plateau this early (is it?) or maybe it's getting off meds that were making me gain so I'm just stuck now and weight will start coming off.  I don't know.  Fishing for answers.  Just glad I have this group to work with and I'm hopeful someone might have a tip or trick I don't know about! 

I know next week will be better and this is just baby steps again in the beginning.  Sorry for being kinda meh this week everyone.  Family holiday messed me up and my husband goes in for surgery tomorrow so I guess the stress is just getting to me.  If anyone can spare some good thoughts and prayers I'd appreciate. 

Jack_lynx:  Love your quote!!  So very, very, very true!!  Good idea to set some mini goals along the way ... perhaps I should follow suit?!

ladyduece:  Positive thoughts coming your way.  The only thing I can offer in terms of tips if you are plateauing (or feel like you are) is to maybe shock your body by mixing things up?  I know for me that my weightloss is chaotic.  I sometimes workout in the morning, sometimes the afternoon, sometimes the evening and sometimes late at night.  I don't eat a precise number of calories, sometimes I eat more, sometimes I eat less (just depends on how disciplined I am and how hungry I am).  I try to different workouts so I am not doing the same thing every day because otherwise I get bored with what I am doing.  So far, I haven't plateaued and I think it is because I have no consistency so my body is all confused with what I have going on!  Maybe that will help?

Here's to hoping you will get let off your "leash" and able to get back to doing what you love for exercise!!  I think it makes a big difference if you can do something you love.

Don't be sorry -  we all have ups and downs. Feel free to vent - sometimes just getting it off your chest makes the burden feel a little lighter. I've found there are many wonderful people on this site willing to give helpful advice, input, suggestions and prayers.

Though it doesn't look like it, I've had a good week. I dropped to 160 on Wed but then had a strenuous workout on Wed and my muscles are still sore. I've done well on calories so I believe this is just water retention.
