Hey everyone,

I think I'm only going to weigh once a week, on Fridays. So I'll check in on Friday instead of Monday. Hope that's ok!

I realised that last year when I lost 10lbs, my measurements didn't decrease by much and my body was still in the same proportions as it always was, just at lower measurements. That's not what I want so I'm going to start lifting and I know that will make the weight go up before it goes down and I don't want to psych myself out when I weigh twice a week and see it go up.

hi everyone,

I stepped on the scale and I reached a breaking point im trying to get healthy. I'm 25 currently weigh 170.2 , 5ft1 my ultimate goal weight is 120, but that is a long ways from where im at now so i gave myself a lot of mini goals. I plan on working out 3 days a week and joining a soccer team.

It was a great weekend fun wise ... but horrible for calorie intake.  Sat. was a net cal of -61 and Sunday a net cal of +1179.  I am leaving town Tuesday - Thursday so I am pretty sure this week will net a gain.  I am surprised I didn't see a gain this week after all my weekend damage.  I have not been a pillar of self-control.

Congrats to everyone on their losses ... you guys are inspiring the way you have taken this challenge by storm!  travs_girl congrats on your C25K graduation!  That's quite an achievement.  clair314 & healthymadison TOM gets me every single time.  I put on weight sometimes up to a week prior.  I am a yo-yo in my weightloss and it goes big gain, big drop, small drop, big gain, big drop, small drop ... at least I am making some progress ... I should just be happy about it!  rrhernshe congrats on your personal best time for your 10K run!  You gotta love it when you beat your personal record!  suzbucket, it doesn't sound like he was worth your time, anyway.  Some people can be so rude!!  born2doit2, I have put on up to 6 lbs in water weight during TOM ... especially if I wasn't watching my sodium carefully!  Feels good when it comes off though doesn't it!?  the2012goal, welcome!  I have been there, hit my breaking point in January when I weighed in at 182 lbs (at 4 feet 11 inches tall).  It was eye opening!  I had put on 45 lbs in 9 months!!  I knew I had gained some but I didn't believe I had gained 45 lbs ... I didn't think that was even possible!!  It was my all-time low and my highest weight.  Good luck to you on your journey!

Down 3lbs! Well don Jack_lynx.  I knew mine was not going to go well but at least it's only a pound up.  More foscused this week (once I get yestday's work dinner out of my system... choice was Fried batter fish or Quiche with Fries!)

Weighted yesterday morning but didn't have time to record it. Also stepped on the scale this morning and saw an even lower number but we will see on Friday what it actually says. Perhaps I was just dehydrated? Either way, this is the most I have ever lost in 1 week!!! I am so happy. Hopefully I can keep this up for a bit.

tantan - I like your optimism and knowing that you will need to be more focused this week. Weighing in after a dinner like that is always difficult! Perhaps that number is reflective of some water retention or something.

I'm going to follow jack_lynx and write some goals for this week. Goals = no binging, no mindless or emotional eating, and workout Mon, Tues, Wed and Fri! I will report back on Friday :)

Have been slacking (aka - nibbling) a bit lately. I don't have much wiggle room in my calorie intake. If I give in to the munchies, even a little, my weight stays the same or goes up right away. It's hard on hungry days or when I've done a good workout to not nibble. Must find a way to deal with this.

@runyourlife- I have those days too. Every now and then a hungry day sneaks up on me and I just feel like snacking all day.

Chin up, 2012!  Your gain is most likely water weight (stupid TOM...) - I wouldn't worry too much about it.  Stick to your goals, maybe drink some extra water to combat the retention, and I'm sure you'll see a loss next week!

Jack_lynx, as a (mostly) reformed nail biter, i feel for you! Nice job on the other goals, though!

Thursday nights I have bowling league, and i inevitably drink beer.   I'm guessing my gain has more to do with water than anything else...

I'm super proud that I met my bike commuting goal this week (2x - monday and today).   I love the experience of it - the view of the Golden Gate is worth it every time, and I saw a gaggle of goslings this morning (did you know they're bright yellow?  I didn't)! I did not, however, do any running.  Tues. my stomach was feeling iffy, and on Thurs. my running partner had a stiff neck.   I'm still trying to get myself to the point of running even if my partner can't go - can't use that as excuse not to anymore!   I'll be sure to get a run in on Saturday to make up for it.

All the easter candy is gone, now...good riddance.

For this next week, I'm hoping to plan my meals out a little better than i have as of late.   I only managed to bring my lunch to work twice this week, and I really ought to do it every day (although i have some pretty good options health-wise @ work).

Don't know what's up with the gain, but hoping TOM has something to do with it.

Not sure how the week-end will go - I turn 40 today!  Yikes - that used to sound old, but sure doesn't anymore!!

Managed not to gain this weekend!!  TOM is hanging around past its welcome (9 days and counting) 

claire - not to worry - was not eating in previous weeks (enough) and changed that up last week.  Also - period bloat leaving.
