Is it bad to want to stay at this weight?
Hi guys, so I have been fluctuating from about 95-100 lbs for the past month and a lot of my friends and family are saying that I should gain weight becuase I'm just about 5 pounds underweight or so, and from time to time I'll listen to them and agree and then try to eat a lot more, but then my thighs and stomach start ballooning up almost immediately after eating and I get worried that I'll get fat and I stop trying to gain weight. I'm really pretty happy with the way I look and I would much prefer being slightly underweight and skinny to gaining too much fat and feeling sluggish and unhealthy. Is that really so much of a problem? I'm not anorexic or bulimic or anything, I eat between 1500-2000 calories a day (although I don't monitor this strictly) and I try to get in some exercise daily.
Age/height?
Oh, sorry, 17 years old and 5'3.
You definitely should gaing weight, and should definitely be eating a lot more calories. You are a teenager, you need to eat more calories than the average human. Also for your height it sounds like you are underweight.
No one is going to tell you its ok to be underweight. you've been on here since late April, asking the same thing, going around in circle, trying to find an excuse/justification for remaining underweight.
Look, for the last time, its NOT OK to arbitrarily remain underweight. If everyone in your life is telling you this is a problem, perhaps you should open your ears and listen to them.
When I was 17, I got down to 95 pounds at one point and immediately put the weight back on. I can tell you this at 5'3" you are literally nothing but skin and bone. I know that for a fact, as I'm 5'3" also. There is NO WAY that if you get up to 105 or even 110 that you'll have any fat whatsoever.
The side effects of allergy medications keep some people from using them. Natural remedies can be a great alternative, but some are more effective than others.
