Binging once a week post-anorexia?
But once every week, usually on a Friday, I find myself binging like crazy. My main binge foods are peanut butter and milk products, which I get plenty of (if not, more than enough of) each day. I calculate and re-calculate, but my diet following up to the binge seems perfectly balanced!
Has anyone else experienced this, or know what's going on? If so, why am I binging? Am I developing _another_ eating disorder?? Please help!
It's completely normal. Due to extreme calorie-restrictions during your ED, your body's trying to compensate for the calories it didn't receive then. So don't worry!
I recommend you increase your intake slowly, too. Maybe 2000 isn't enough?
No, you're not developing a binge eating disorder, if that's what you're worried about. Read hedgren's posts to know more. She's written some brilliant articles on recovery.
Haha, you are not alone here, post-anorexia and on a (reasonably) healthy 2000 calorie daily intake I always seem to have one binge day a week... normally a Sunday as it would happen. I can find it kinda triggering and sometime want to restrict the next day but I remind myself that loooooads of people probably have random days when they eat over 4000 calories or whatever without even realising! We only call it a 'binge' because we calory count :( xxx
Yeah, I tend to do it on Saturday's! My triggers are usually considering restriction and boredom. >.> I try to tell myself it'll help boost my metabolism and I'm still going through puberty, so I might need to extra calories (I can't help but hope that these stubby legs still has room to grow! :P)
