breast augmentation surgery
ok so ive only been on here counting calories for one week and one day... ive lost 1-2lbs and it seems the only place that is smaller are my breasts.... i was a 34C and seem to be shrinking...
i also have the opportunity to get breast implants at the end of july (my boyfreinds brother is a plastic surgeon and i can get it for cheaper than usual) and i should say my bf has NOTHING to do with my wishes for surgery...
can anyone tell me if its a good idea? have u gotten them and/or lipo and can share anything with me in regards to working out, your results, how u feel about them now, etc. please, i am strongly considering...
im 21 years old, 155lb and 5'10" and again, now a 34C but shrinking?
thanks in advance,

I have not had breast augmentation or lipo, but my best friend just had both done about 6 weeks ago. I am also not a big proponent of any kind of surgery unless it's absolutely necessary, particularly when you're getting surgery done "on the cheap". My friend (who lives in New Jersey) flew to Utah for her surgery, because for some reason, it's considerably less expensive there. She was in a tremendous amount of pain afterwards and one of the "twins" is now bigger than the other one. Needless to say, she is pretty upset about it. Also, you can't even tell she had any lipo done, so that was a complete waste of money. The bottom line is that I think you are very young to be considering plastic surgery (you're only 21), and it sounds to me like you don't even need it. You're a 34C now, which is already on the large end of the spectrum. How much bigger do you want to be??? Also, I doubt that after losing only 1 or 2 lbs., they are shrinking that noticeably already. As far as the lipo goes, you are 5'10" and weight 155 lbs. You are already at a very healthy weight for your height, but since you are on this site, I'm assuming you're planning on losing more weight. That said, I think that lipo would be absolutely unnecessary. Why put yourself through the risks involved if you really don't need to? It is truly amazing how people can transform their bodies through proper diet and exercise, particularly at such a young age. I say skip the surgery and just take care of and love your body.
laurie, lizab has a valid point there with consideration to your age. I am 31, and recently had breast augmentation in August. This was after I'd had two boys, and breastfed both of them for four months or so. Let's just say, my boobs were a mess...haha. Altogether, I love my body, even post babies, as I am a devout gym goer, and watch what I eat. My decision to have breast augmentation, personally, is one of the best decisions I've ever made. I LOVE THEM. I wont lie to you, though, it is painful, and recovery was a bit challenging. I'm also pregnant again, so dealing with the extra soreness with the increase in size kind of sucks some days. That being said, be sure that your surgeon is board certified, and that he answers any questions and addresses any concerns you might have. Be one hundred percent sure beore you go ahead with the surgery that you really, really want to do it, as it's no cakewalk, my dear. Good luck!!
Fluffy349, I just want to say that although I'm not big on plastic surgery, I COMPLETELY understand why you had breast augmentation after having 2 kids. Being a mother myself, I know the toll that pregnancy and nursing can take on the ol' funbags. :)Through diet and exercise, you can get your body to do just about anything you want it to, EXCEPT for firming up loose skin. Hopefully with your new implants, they will retain their shape throughout your current pregnancy and far beyond.
I can see what you mean in regards to having kids. I do want kinds someday, in the next 5-10 years. As for being certified, my boyfriends brother went to one of the best med schools in the country (U Penn) and I am confident that everything is ok on that end...
Here's the thing.... I wanted to get my breasts done for YEARS. they are uneven (noticeable enough) and again, only about a 34C. Now that the time has come (his brother is moving less than an hour away from me, and has been in residency for the last 5 years, finally getting into a real firm) And also now that I'm 21, and figure they aren't really gonna grow anymore (unless I gained a bunch of weight, which is NOT the goal)... fluffy, did you go through an emotional time in the decision to get them done...? I feel like really bad for considering it, or wondering if it is right for me... how did you know? And how was recovery? THAT bad??
What do you mean only a 34 C? I don't think any woman should feel like they need to be larger than a C cup. I really don't think you need the surgery unless they are starting to sag. I'm all for surgery if you need it, but it doesn't seem that you do. I wear a C cup and mine are flipping huge. I can't wear a lot of clothing because they are so big.
I would wait until you finish losing weight until you get the surgery.
Thanks lizab, I hope they come thru for me too :).
laurie, I'm glad you have confidence in your practitioner. I absolutely loved mine. And what an artist!! Ha. Anywho, I was the same as you, wanting to get mine done for quite a while. I held out for about 5 years before actually doing it. So obviously, I'd thought a lot about it, in addition to doing a lot of reserch. You know, how it can be done, possible side effects, effects of subsequent pregnancy, that kind of stuff. As far as it being emotional, I dont recall being anything but excited when I'd finally decided that the time was right. No apprehension here. I was more than happy to say goodbye to my old boobies, and hello 34D! And the recovery, I guess it depends on how you get them done, but mine are under the muscle, and were done thru the bellybutton. No scars, no sutures, except for a couple hidden in the old navel. Pretty cool. As far as pain, it's pretty painful for the first 48 to 72 hours, and I had quite a bit of bruising however, they should provide you with a little something to take the edge off. I did also end up vomiting for a few hours after surgery from the anesthesia. Know what, though? I do it all over in a heartbeat, so really, it wasn't unbearable.
hey fluffy thanks for the feedback, its really appreciated... ive had plastic surgery before (not cosmetic) so i can kind of relate to the pain the scarring, etc will cause.. if anyone else has any thoughts on the topic, id love to hear them
and fallingstars-- thanks for the input, however even tho u say yours are "flippin huge" haha they may look different on a different frame.. i have wide hips and thick legs, so even tho yeah they dont fit into some stuff sometimes, many other times its the opposite
hey,
i had a B.A. 2 weeks ago and i feel wonderful. The first 5 days i could not move. i laid in bed the whole time. i had my boyfriend put his hand under my back and slowly pull me up. i go to LA Fitness still and i walk on the treadmill for 45 mins. i wear a tight sports bra and i do not do any lifting. I am watching what i eat but since i was in bed for almost the first week and still eating the same the cals starting building up. i got MENTOR 550 cc silicone smooth round high profile, under the muscle. i will be honest i was crying the first couple of days after my surgery because i wasnt expecting to look soo funny looking. they were very very high. so if your planning on getting a B.A. dont look at your boobs for a week and a half at least. It might scare you!! lol. i love the way they look and feel. they dont hurt and they are soft and totally feel natural! TODAY IS EXACTLY 2 WEEKS SINCE MY SURGERY TOO! :) it was the best decision i have made, i love my twins!
ps. my advice after you get your B.A. done get a hooters shirt! my boyfriend bought me one and it makes me feel so good to look at my boobs pop out. now i finally have an hour-glass shape! wow! sooo happpy!
