Has anyone with eczema or psoriasis noticed an improvement with their condition as you get closer to a healthy weight? I have both, and I've been told that losing my excess weight will help the severity of flare-ups. I already use unscented everything, dermatologist recommended moisturizers, medicated creams, etc., and I still have patches I can't get under control. I just want to stop itching those spots!

I used to have very bad psoriasis on my scalp. ^^; It was very frustrating, as no dandruff shampoo tamed it and I couldn't put cream on it. When I improved my diet - this before I sunk into my ED - it stopped flaring up. Ironically, without the right nutrition, it was worse when I was in the depth of my ED; now, now that I am eating well and majority cleanly, I don't have trouble with it again.

My mum has eczema. She takes Evening Primrose Oil capsules to help her with it as well as eating well. Hers, however, is stress-related more than anything, but her losing weight and improved diet have helped it calm down. She uses a cream called hydrocortisone cream - but was recommended this by her doctor. Was this one of the ones recommended to you, too? If it was, I would suggest you try it - it really helps her.

Hydrocortisone doesn't seem to help me Frown

I've used triamcinolone cream and that helps to some extent.  I'm really hoping weight loss will help.

I used to use some really disgusting ointment for my skin issues.  It felt like vaseline all over my body and I hated it so much that I stopped using it.  Since losing weight my skin does look better, it's no longer itchy and is for the most part smooth.  I've still got some bumps, but my skin is nice and soft.

I've noticed on my more hydrated days my skin is a lot better. :\

I have a very mild case of psoriasis on my scalp.  It responds just as well to vitamin E oil as it does to the very expensive foam they gave me.

I have psoriasis on my scalp also. They gave me the foam also I paid like 120 with my insurance and rebate it did work but now without ins can't afford it. So now it is flaring up and even worse and it was awful to begin with. What Vitamin E Oil do you use?

I have had ezcema since I can remember and have tried loads of different creams etc but the only one that i found worked was Eumovate. You aren't supposed to use it for more than like, 2 weeks or something though since its a steroid... but I used it for months and didn't see any problems. Not that I'm recommending doing this.

I noticed it did get much better when I started taking vegan omega 3, 6 and 9 capsules, but that might just be coincedence..?

Of course you didn't... Prolonged use of it may cause cancer! (source: wikipedia)
