Eye Cream
I am looking at starting a skin care routine (right now I just use Clean and Clear) and have invested in some philosophy products from Sephora.
I looked at getting an eye cream as well because my undereye area is often dry and I have those pesky inherited dark circles BUT they ranged greatly in price and ingredients.
I have read that many people like La Mer but do not want to spend nearly that much money. Which ones can you all reccommed? Are drugstore brands just as good as make-up counter ones?
My eyes will thank you!!

Maggie,
I use Cetaphyl daily facial moisturizer for my entire face and it does great with oily/dry/and under eye bags/circles for me. I buy mine at Target for about $8/container. I've never tried anything specific for eyes since this works well all over for me and I have very sensitive skin.

i use the marcelle brand in canada (24h moisture) for a night scream. it's really light, won't clog pores (which was super important for me) or cause a rash (it's hypoallergenic) and you can use it under your eyes. it's about 14 bucks for the pot and i bought it a year ago. however, i only use it when the weather starts to get dry and at night only. during the day/when it's hotter (end of spring to beginning of autumn) and during the day until about december-ish, i use pure aloe-vera gel on my whole face. it's really light and it's enough for me (i have combo skin tho so i can't use aything super moisturizing...). i say talk to the cosmetologists (is that what they are called?) in the cosmentics section of your pharmacy and they can help you find something for your skin and in your price-range
I use Clinique and it works pritty well, but i think when i run out i'm going to try oil of olay, i've heard some good things about them and their a fraction of the price. I paid $150 for my line from Clinique, but like i said, it works, i just can't afford that!
Before you invest money in any skin care line, do your homework!! There is a book called "Don't go to the cosmetics counter without me". It's long but you can kind of go through it pretty quickly. The point is there are cosmetics companies that advertise certain qualities in their products that may or may not have positive effects on the skin topically. Also, expensive products (La Mer) have the same (sometimes less) of the active ingredients of inexpensive products (Clean & Clear). I think after you read this book you have a better understanding of some of the marketing tricks out there vs. what you really need in a skincare line. Good luck in your search!!
The side effects of allergy medications keep some people from using them. Natural remedies can be a great alternative, but some are more effective than others.
