Goal weight? Pictures

Quote  |  Reply

I've seen a lot of people have been posting pictures looking for reassurance, but that's not really what I'm after. Basically, I might not feel like I'm too thin but I know I am still underweight so must be. I haven't out up any picture of me now because I don't want comments on me at the moment. Plus it really does not matter how I look now as I can't stay this weight so even if I look at my best now, I really don't care because I have to put more weight on, but I don't want to be told I look bad now either. Basically, I've put up some pictures of me at my goal weight and me at my pre-ed weight (which is higher than the goal weight - though both would be considered healthy and b.m.i. of 20+). Can people tell me what they think and whether I should aim for higher or not as I really don't want as I don't feel it's attractive, but I do want to be healthy and it may be my set point - I duno.

Sorry if this is irritating x.

Hi Scrunchy,

I respect your attitude with not posting pictures of your current weight. As you say neither compliments nor expressions of concern will be helpful to you right now!

I've looked through your photos. Your lowest weight is upsetting to look at :( I really hope that you've come well on from there xx

You look stunning at your goal weight, particuarly sun bathing! (You definately shouldn't stay smaller than 130lb though, I think that picture is boardering on too thin, a few more lbs will look lovely too) I took a guess based on previous posts that this is at a bmi of 21. That seems like an excellant healthy goal weight.

If your set point is higher, go for it anyway. If you don't manage to repair your leptin system and overcome your disordered mindset you won't have the ability to see your body fairly anyway and will not be happy when you reach your goal weight anyhow. The proof of that is that you went straight through your goal weight during your ED so you were clearly not happy with it at the time despite looking amazing.

I hope you're having a better week and you are looking after yourself xx

I think you looked lovely at your goal weight and at your Pre-ED weight, both. You're beautiful.

I think you look great in all the pictures. The goal weight looks perfect, but you look great in the ones when you're a little higher too, so its what you're most comfortable with(as long as its healthy!) Keep going!

Your goal weight sunbathing looks absolutely perfect as does the one where you're wearing a floral jumper. I'm guessing that your goal is in between 126 and 130...stick with that. You looked FANTASTIC.

I'm sure that I'm the only one who's going to say this and I will without a doubt be attacked for what I'm about to say, but I'm being completely honest here-

I do think that you were a little bit chubby at 147 lbs. Not fat, not overweight- just on the higher end of healthy.

You knew that would be triggering and you posted it anyhow.  You really should remove it.  Shame on you.

edit: Scrunchy, for what it's worth, I think you looked wonderful in all of your pre-ED/goal weight pictures.  I think that you looked wonderfully happy and healthy in those pictures.

((hugs))

Sarah

wow you looked soooo good at a healthy weight! i know ed may be distorting your perception but get back to yourhealthy weight <333

you're dead on in your assessment of why posting current pictures won't help you. but how will us telling you what weight you should aim for help you? you need to gain and repair now regardless of what your future weight will be. try to focus on that rather than having anxiety over what your perfect weight is and when you'll have to start trying to maintain.

That says more about you than it does about Scrunchy. At 147lbs she looks perfectly healthy and normal - not chubby and not even 'the higher end' of healthy, as you put it.

Thanks for sll of this. I'm going to say it was a little triggering which is pretty hard, I know I was a little on the bigger side pre-ed, but I stopped having my period by my goal weight and am pretty scared that it might be unhealthy for me.

But it's my fault, I shouldn't have asked. I know everyone is trying to be positive and I'm grateful. And I know I shouldn't focus on the future too much. Obviously though, my ED is focusing on the negative stuff. I'm such an idiot.

Sorry x.

Isn't this a little early to be thinking about yet? Your best bet is to keep up the hard work and continue eating 2500+. How about you see how you feel when you get to 130lbs? My guess is you'll be needing quite a lot to even maintain your weight, so if you were to continue with 2500 calories your weight would naturally level at a point that's healthy for you. If your thoughts are less disordered, your periods have returned and you feel comfortable eating an amount to sustain a good weight, you'll probably be fine. <3

To answer your question: It might be the higher end of "normal" but you really did look your healthiest at 147lbs. You looked great at 130lbs too, though.

130 looks good, 147 looks better - it's not a terribly flattering shot at 147 because you are leaning forwards and compressing your stomach area into a fold.

But 130 is your first target :)

omg scrunchy i very nearly cried at your photos. you were a beautiful gril healthy, slim and gorgeous and then i saw your start of recovery and present and omg its so painful :( your goal weight looks even more stunning and you should deffo aim- is that a friend or something? get well soon scrunch we all love you! :) xxx

This! And it's not irritating! I really hope you can keep moving forward and reach your goal weight!

Is It Possible to Go Natural?
The side effects of allergy medications keep some people from using them. Natural remedies can be a great alternative, but some are more effective than others.
