Since recovery, Ive gotten my period about once a year.  It comes back for one week in the summertime.  I assume that it comes back in the summertime because I am generally more relaxed, less active, and tend to eat around the clock.

sandyear, thank you for sharing. Sounds like your body has not lost the function of menstruating on its own since you get a period once a year. I think we all need to strive to eat more and be more relaxed.

keep the survey going please!

Yes, yesterday!

2)    How long were you amenorrheic for?

4 months

3)
What was your caloric intake and exercise when
you got it back?

around 1400-1800. Exercise: horseback riding daily, walking, strength training 3 x a week, and the day before yesterday I went for a run after stopping for 4 weeks. Though it didn't up my caloric intake really, I did have more chocolate this week because of easter.

4)     What was your BMI around the time you got your period back, age?

~19.5, 19 years old.

5)    How long did you have an eating disorder?

around 5 months. Have been trying to recover for the past month off and on.

Ladies, you can do this. Recovery suddenly seems worthwhile when you get your period back. My happy meter was kinda high after coming out of the ladies room yesterday ;)

My sincere support to all who have been missing their period for a longer amount of time than I have. Stay strong.

This thread goes to show how fine tuned our bodies are, one small slip up and everything goes haywire.

I encourage all girls who are currently suffering from an ED, to stop and think just for a few minutes, about how delicate our bodies are! Take care of it NOW, before you do irreversible damage that you might regret for the rest of your life.

Now that I am suffering from amenorrhea and all my other hormones are low, I know that I have a long way to reach that balance I so desperately need not only for myself but for possibly creating another life in the future!

Keep this thread going ladies!
