I just found out that she passed away, 4/05/12 suddenly due to complications of anorexia.....please pray for her family. She was bright loving and very funny and bubbly.Remember on our paths to fitness and health that we are keeping it healthy!! Please if you know anyone with signs or symptoms of an eating disorder do NOT ignore it! They need help, I read that 20% of people with Anorexia Nervosa die......Stargirl had just turned 18 in February.Cry

Just reading all her old posts makeshift want to cry and nothing makes me cry. Especially the forum topic with the title that says: "I'm giving up" and saying that she thinks shes going to die but wants to live a normal live and be happy. My god I'm heartbroken. Frankly pissed at the parents as she clearly states her mom tried and tried but gave up. Words can't express the empathy I feel for her. So young. :(

I am not pissed at her mom. It is not other people who should want her to change her binge/purge behaviours, it is her, herself. That is the hardest part for any ED sufferer (for them to turn their own lives around).

This is so heartbreaking. Yet another beautiful life lost to this horrible disease. Her family and friends are all in my prayers!! Anyone feel free to message me for support

I hope people see this and can take it as an incentive to put 100% into recovery.
Such a lovely, beautiful girl.

It is very sad however you have to realize Stargirl had been doing to herself for about 7 years...had been to treatment centers and her family had been there through everything. Her other posts also talk about how her mom has supported her through everything! I think, just like her perception in the mirror, that was probably just SAMMIES viewpoint. And I think she had reached th point a few times when SHE gave up. Like others have said unfortunately it was up to Samantha to get better, no one could MAKE her.

Ya, I suppose your right. Its hard trying to understand their position since Ive never had to deal with someone with that serious of an ED so your right. I was assuming since she said her dad was always there until the end but her mom quit that she gave up on sammie but I suppose what you said makes sense about her giving up on herself. Just sad to think someone at that age died from a ED. Poor girl never got to experience all the greatest things in life and my heart goes out to her and her family too. May she be happy and healthy with the lord at her side

Seth, ya and unfortunately Sammie had actually made the decision to get BETTER. It just came too late. Her body was far too damaged to make it.....

I never knew star girl as I just joined today but this is so sad. I hope her family find the strength to carry on.
I'm so shocked and upset to hear such sad news my thoughts are with her family and friends at this awful time. Rest in peace stargirl x

This is so sad, I haven't been on this site in forever, but I just got an email saying I had a message from stargirl213, it was her mother's message though. Its so sad, she is my age, we both had anorexia, but I am living a happy healthy life now. I got better, but she didn't. I feel terrible for her... had I not chose to fight, chose to live, I would have been her. She could have easily been me.

Choose life everybody, do whatever you have to to recover. It is totally 100% worth it, and 100% possible. I am living proof that you CAN recover!

I did not know stargirl but after reading your post i looked her up . It really made me sad. Im been struggling for over 20yrs as well. After almost taking my life a yr ago i have come to terms some day it will take mine as well. Rest in peace STARGIRL..

Omg, I was wondering about her JUST earlier today. I have chills now =/

The best way any of you can honor her memory and the legacy of desperately wanting to recover and live, that she left behind, is to do everything possible to recover.

Don't let her death be in vain, use it to motivate yourselves to recover and get better. Choose life over death. You are not invincible.

Imagine that it was your mother sending out that message that Samantha's mother did, in a desperate plea to not have her daughter's death go un-noticed, but rather to make it count for something in the battle against EDs.

Don't let Samantha down, and recover and live your life to the fullest to honor the beautiful soul who ran out of time in her battle to recover.

Stargirl is a young woman of action. We learn a lot about her kindness through them. In fact, when she is talking about how she comforted the player from the opposing team when he was hurt instead of letting someone else do it, Stargirl tells Leo, "I didn't think. I just did." In most situations, Stargirl knows what she believes is the right and kind thing to do. She doesn't wait to put them through the filter of what society will think of her if she does them. If she sees someone in pain, she comforts him. If she reads about someone who she thinks needs cheering up, she sends an anonymous gift or card. If she knows of a child who is coming home from the hospital, she joins in the celebration. If she knows of someone who died, she joins in the mourning. We get to know her by what she does.

This is such terrible news. I was on her page not too long ago after reading one of her helpful posts, and was hoping that despite her photo gallery she had reached a healthy weight and lifestyle - but I guess not. She will surely be missed. ):

Oh my God. I read this just yesterday. I can't believe I missed this thread. Though I didn't know stargirl so well, I just feel awful that a girl was taken away so young. I hope girls who are facing her condition, and girls who are on their way to eating disorders take insight from this and try to start improving their health.

I hope God gives the family strength to cope with this situation, and that wherever stargirl is, she's happy and in a better place.

Rest in peace.

Iv only signed up today but I have read posts before and seen the support on here. Wow it's just so sad bless her heart. I have no words, she sounded like a very lovely and supportive girl who deserved recovery and an amazing life. She is resting now from all her pain. She will go on to inspire so many to recover and live. She will save and has saved lives...it's made me think...im in recovery and im going to put 100% into it I hope her family heal and I hope that she is resting well up there xxxx
Oh my gosh that's so sad. I didn't know her but that's awful. Thoughts and prayers for her family and loved ones.

Wow.  This really opened my eyes more than anything.  Now knowing that I could die any day because of my ED, I really need to get help.  RIP Stargirl213.

Allergy Remedies
Is It Possible to Go Natural?
The side effects of allergy medications keep some people from using them. Natural remedies can be a great alternative, but some are more effective than others.
