Do I really need to eat 3,000+?
Hello, I'm attempting to recover from a restrictive form of EDNOS, and it's going pretty well so far! I was just wondering, because I was never underweight, I was on the cusp of it though, do I need to consume 3,000+ calories in order to properly restore my metabolism? I'm an 18 year old girl, 169cm and I weigh around 60kg, I'm currently eating around 1,600 - 1,800 and maintaining my weight. And I do exercise too!
Thank you :)
I would say yes, as 1,600-1,800 is a weight loss amount for a sedentary teen, not a maintenance amount for an active 18 year old. If in doubt, visit this site: www.gwynetholwyn.com and ask Hedgren why you need to do this. I used to maintain on 1,500 after an ED (about 15 years back) but this time around, I ate 2,500-2,750 in recovery, and now I can maintain on 2,250-2,500 having healed a slow metabolism. Good luck!
