"Real" girls in magazines

Hey everyone! I haven't been on here much the past week since I've been home the past week. If anyone has already said this, I apologize for being redundant, but my mom brought a petition to my attention that I think is for a great cause.

On change.org a 14 year old girl has challenged 17 Magazine to put one non-photoshopped picture in every issue. I  believe 17 declined this challenge (sadly), but that hasn't stopped me from signing the petition because maybe, just maybe if enough people sign, they'll realize it's something that's important to do. The petition already has over 71,000 signatures which I think is awesome. Anyway, you can find it by going to change.org and then searching for "Seventeen Magazine: Give Girls Images of Real Girls."

I hope it's okay that I'm posting this topic on the Health and Support Forum. I thought about it, and since so, so many on here are struggling with issues related to poor body image and might find "real" people in magazines helpful, I thought I'd put it here. It made sense to me, and I thought others might be interested in this cause.

thanks for bringing this to my attention.  I never forward anything, but i will this.  the fact a 14 year old came up with it is great (i am like 2x that age) makes me have faith in the future,  some girls want real change!
