Concerned - Weight on different scales differing by 7 lbs on the same day...

Hey all! This morning I was weighed for my physical for sports for next year. I was suprised to see that I was seven pounds heavier. When I got home several hours later (did not eat inbetween) I was 7 pounds less. At a doctor's appointment after this I was also the weight I was at home. I eat typically less than maintenence and excercise normally and am a guy (so it doesn't have to do with a period). Anyone have any idea as to which scale is the one to go by? The school one is one of those really old ones while the one at home is digital and the one at the doctor's office appears to be a newer model of the old school one.

The school scale was probably messed up. Since you were the lighter weight on 2 different scales, and the heavier weight on only 1, go by the 2. Majority rules, right?

besides, you said the school one was old. And doctors' scales are usually really accurate. which makes sense, right?

hey, let's think positively! go by the lower weight!! good feeling to be lighter than you think, right??
I find that the doctors office is 7 pounds more than my scale, my son found the same thing with his scale and the doctors office - 7 pounds - maybe that magic number means something ::)
Glad i don't have your problem - it would totally freak me out to be that differnt in one place versus another!!!

Your clothes and shoes could weigh a lot...were you wearing the same thing both times? Other than that...sounds like at least one of those scales is lying, maybe it hasnt been calibrated in a long time.

Doctors offices and gyms calibrate their scales often, Id trust those the most.
i've always found my dr's scales were 4lbs heavier than my home scale.

then i got a new scale.

Now my home scale is 2lbs heavier than the dr's scale.

{shrug}  I use my home scale every day to plot my weight, so that is the one I go by.  well, that and how my clothes fit and how I look in the mirror.

I highly doubt the school does much of anything to the scale (other than have people go on it) so i doubt they calibrate (not sure what this is) it.
