Help... What are my maintenance calories?
Hey Guys
I'm a bit confused as to what I can maintain on?
I'm 174cm tall (i think 5'8 1/2)
and around 54kg - 119 pounds
I work from home so I don't do much activity.. but I go to the gym 2 -3 times a week and lift heavy weights for about 40 mins
I realised i was probably eating too little.. maybe 1300 - 1500 per day and I seemed to be maintaining on that amount
The past 4 days I've bumped up to maybe 2000 or 2200 calories each day ... (with icecream mostly) haven't weighed myself but I feel really bloated .. hoping the water/food weight goes away soon and that I can maintain on around 2000? Is this possible? I feel so much more energetic and satisfied the last few days!
I looked up some online calculators and they said my maintenance was around 1800 calories?
Hoping someone can help me out with an approx. number .. thanks!
Your BMI is only 17.8, which (unless you are only 15,) is significantly underweight. You should not really be trying to maintain such a low weight. A healthy BMI is 18.5-25.
Having said that, you could definitely maintain a healthy weight on over 2,000 calories - and keep that energetic satisfied feeling too! I maintain on 2,250-2,500 a day, and my only exercise is around 60 mins brisk walking a day. I'd feel like death on 1,300-1,500 - it's way too low for an active female.
The side effects of allergy medications keep some people from using them. Natural remedies can be a great alternative, but some are more effective than others.
