Maintenance Check-In: Weight--Exercise--Meals--Opinions--Information
This thread is for anyone who wants to log in his/her weights, exercises, meals, etc. Feel free to add any other information that you find interesting. Best of luck in maintaining. Never give in. If you fall off the wagon, as the saying goes, jump back on! You can, you will, and you must MAINTAIN!
Hi all! Just checking in. I am so hot! It's sweltering here. I feel like I'm melting...ahh! Thankfully, this heatwave will pass in the next day or so. Seems like everyone is doing well! I'm still in my summer classes. Today I had clinical and got to see a cool abdominal surgery but unfortunately it lasted about 5 hours and I had to stand the whole time. Now my feet hurt...lol. Who's excited about the summer Olympics starting next month? John? ![]()
Chrissy: When do you come back East? At the end of the summer?

How do you eat your rice?? I used to eat it with butter abd sugar as a kid
I use a fork. I still have not taken the time to learn how to use chopsticks. LOL!
OK, because this was seasoned with spices, I just ate it as was. I don't know what I will season the wild-brown rice when I buy it. I definitely won't add any sweetener.

Hey! So you sneaked in again. You have missed the big news.
(1) Megan gave blood and had a good iron count.
(2) I made my 3-year anniversary of weight-maintenance.
(3) Chrissy is getting free meals up the ying-yang and has a new BF.
So you are still in summer classes? I couldn't remember when you get your degree.
If you study Raynaud's Syndrome let me know. I went for a cool ocean swim and managed to find out I have it. Such are the travails of old geezers.
YES! I am excited about the Olympics!!!!!!!!!!!!
John--happy hour time!
Chrissy:
Just once for me...
Drink a few...and then...
Get your brains.....
Just sayin' that might be a jump start to weight-maintenance!

June 21: Weight 173.8 (Another shocker. I can only say that I had one heck of a good time in the Reading Room with my football magazine.)
Foods/Drinks planned for today:
- water
- black coffee
- beers
- marshmallow-cereal treats
- homemade turkey pizza
- baby carrots
- seasoned rice
I know, same as yesterday! LOL!
I have been taking some long walks in the hot/humid temps. Definitely seems to help with weight maintenance, even though I do drink plenty of water.
Amy - I'm jealous of the heat! it never gets hot here. That sounds really gross! lol. not too jealous of witnessing an abdominal surgery.
jOHN WHAT Is Raynauds syndrome? it sounds scary. Whats in your marshmallow cerreal treats?? I had burger king again yesterday. I have a problem!! lol. I drink free at my work all the time. Free drinks every friday at the very least. I get a lot of free food too but not every day. The kitchen is also always stocked with lots of food, cookies etc.
Chrissy - I like luna bars i haven't had one in forever. I had a chicken quesadilla before the gym. It was so good that I might get another for lunch today. you haven't been in your weight window in 6 weeks? maybe its due to the increased humidity?? When I started working a desk job I definitely had some weight management issues. I wasn't paying as much attention as you do though. I'm sure you'll ge tback in there.. Do you still have the same weight window?
Megs--I have a ton of Luna bars on hand. Yeah my weight window is basically the same--i gained 5 pounds almost instantly before I even started work--it's so weird!! I didnt pack my scale so it could be variation in scales or something--I'm not sure though.
John - I'm goinna eat some amazing onion rings tonight!!! jealous??
WELL i'm abandoning work early to pick up my niece from daycare bc my sister is sick. *Nice aunty*
Chrissy - yeah they are delicious. I love the caramel nut brownie. That one has nuts though so i guess its out for you ;( What flavours do you like? I think the flavours are more limited here than they are in the U.S.... So I probably can't get them. But its nice to dream. Do you like CLIF bars too? They are delicious. Pretty high cal though I guess for the size of em but I get at least a few good hours of fullness out of them. My favorite of those is the peanut butter one so I guess that one is out for you! Maple and brown sugar or whatever is really good too though.
Lunch will be tuna nicoise. Yummy!
Weight: 174.6 (Not bad considering all the treats and pizza I've been eating and all the beers.)

Megan: If you're interested, Google for Raynaud's. Wikipedia has a good overview. I'm not happy that I have it, but compared to arthritis, rheumatism, Crohns, diabetes, heart disease, cancer, diverticulitis, etc, etc, Raynaud's is more of a nuisance than anything. As the saying goes, when one gets old, he begins to mold.
Yes, I am jealous that you are eating onion rings. And I am jealous you get free drinks every Friday. What?! You drink free at work. There were a few times in my teaching that a few drinks would have helped me make it through the day. LOL!
Marshmallow-treats: marshmallows (LOL), crushed cinnamon squares, cocoa-dynabites, and crispy rice cereal.
I must admit that I seldom eat at Burger King. If I eat fast food it would probably be McDonald's or somewhere like KFC, Popeye's (chicken), etc. I did have some good food at Sonic (I doubt that you have Sonic in Canada.) Their onion rings are goooooooo!
Chrissy: I knew you would. LOL!
Well, you are having a good summer, overall, it seems, as far as free food and keeping busy.
Tell that to the homeless! LOL!
Enjoy life!!!!!!
Eat free.
{And UPS me all the free drinks!}

I will be shortly. Could you send me some food? I will work for drink...but not for food.
Well, that sucks!!!!!!!!!!

I got some great veggies buys at our local grocery store.
A shipment of large red, yellow, and orange bell peppers came in -- and were only $1.50 a piece. These were huge and so fresh -- no softness or wrinkled skins. I shall dice them and freeze them. Yeadoggie!
Also, 1-pound packages of frozen peas, kernel corn, and cut green beans were selling for 89¢ each. That is really cheap for here. I picked up 10 packages total.
"Steep"? AYKM? When is the last time you bought a "colored" bell pepper? Even Walmart sells them as high as $2.39 each, or higher. In SF they can run as high as $5.99 each at Whole Foods.
1 red, 1 orange, and 2 yellow bell peppers weighed 2.24 pounds and cost $6.
Any place I have ever been, Midwest, East Coast, West Coast -- that is cheap.
