John: Seems like you're having a good morning so far! Yummy corn for breakfast!

Chrissy: Fun! I love Ikea, Costco, and Walmart. I could spend hours at those places. Today my plan is to cook some healthy food that I can bring to work this week. I bought all that food and I need to cook it...lol.

amy....that sounds like fun. what will you cook.

Chrissy: I'll be making some pasta salad with veggies, baking some salmon, and also baking some chocolate chip cookies. Laughing

Chrissy:

Holly Molly on a runaway trolley!

When you buy things, girl, you know how to do it right!

You had room for all that?!

That list makes me feel like a piker!  Very impressive.  I don't even think some of my Super Walmart/Trader Joe's expeditions brought in that big of haul.

I made mini-pizzas with the wraps:

  • baked wraps
  • taco sauce
  • layer of parmesan cheese
  • layer of cheddar cheese

Actually, I have been consuming a lot of calories -- weigh more than I will be starting tomorrow!

john...it sounds low cal. that shocks me that youre eating more than you will be. with quanitties removed from the description theres no way to tell though. the trip today was to stock the cupboard and freezer, fridge, etc. also bought strawberries, oatmeal, cabbage, pudding cups, string cheese, water, and peanut butter. yesterday was hummus, carrots, tofu, bananas,  more string cheese/eggs, mushrooms, and clif bars.

Chrissy:  How freakin' much did you buy?  I dread to think what it cost.  Wow!  Party at your house!!!!!!

All I had my wife pick up for me were: bananas, apples, cabbage, and eggs.  I am a lightweight (well, I will be by the end of August, I hope).

Of course, quantity of food, no matter how low-cal, adds up.  For example, I ate 700 calories of fish plus marinade for just one of six meals.  It's difficult to say for certain, but I have been eating somewhere in the 3000-3400 range, I would guess.  The mini-pizzas would have been close to 800 for another meal.

I think back to well over a year ago, when on CC I posted my eats on the What did you eat today Thread on the Food Board, and somebody turned me in for promoting a starvation diet.  What was the real pisser was that I was consuming well over 3000 calories daily.  And the originator of thread said NOT to post calorie totals.  So why some doofus had all my posts deleted is beyond me.  And, on top of that, some of the "recovering" ana-types were posting some rather questionable eats.

Anyway, I think someone who was "connected" to the moderator(s) was just getting even with me for some snarky comment I had made.  There is nothing like my making snarky comments to young women and have them spaz out on me!  LOL!  That makes me think of some of the "battles" I had with teenage girls in the classroom.  Sometimes we would outsnark each other, but I usually lost the war, even if I won a battle or two.  I've always wanted to be a King Snarker, but I remain strictly second-team.

ohn...you underestimate your snarkability. haha. i am pretty good.

we basically filled our kitchen. we plan to shop once a week from here on out. the trips will be less thorough and moreso to pick up veggies, milk, and staples. we will likely buy meat once every 2 weeks. the initial stocking up on things cost about 350 i think.

Chrissy:  I decided to skip spinning today and give my legs a rest.  Guess I'll get going full bore tomorrow.

How are the food prices compared to the three main areas you have lived: California, Florida, and NY?  About the same?

john..ive never lived in NY but all of the, are pretty reasonable. florida was probably chheapest though b/c the grocery stores have bogo so you get "free" stuff. here there are really no grocery store chains...only trader joes and whole foods..my favorite but semi-expensive. we did a lot of our shopping at costco.

Chrissy:  Not sure what you are doing up at this time.

I am planning a half-year-long trip across the Continental United States (and back for the 2nd half of the year).  It will be from Ozette, Washington, to Lubec, Maine.  The route I have chosen is 3557 miles.

I need to get in 593 miles total for August to stay on track -- combination of spinning and walking.

  1. Ozette Washington to Seiku Washington 24
  2. Seiku Washington to Seattle Washington 145
  3. Seattle Washington to Vantage Washington 136
  4. Vantage Washington to Ritzville Washington 86
  5. Ritzville Washington to Spokane Washington 62
  6. Spokane Washington to Osburn Idaho 76
  7. Osburn Idaho to Superior Montana 64

Edited-in:  I thought you moved to New York.  I don't have a clue as to where you are going to law school; for some reason I thought it was in New York.

johh...i am in connecticut. sometime CC blocks out state names i think or my phone does. i was awake in the middle of the night randomly. ir was nothing really...just a brief awakeness. so i assume this trip is virtual. lol. i want a spin bike. searchhing online.
