Should I start maintaining my weight now?
I'm a 17 year old male, 6'1" and 155 pounds. I'm trying to get abs and am not sure whether or not I need to lose any more weight to get abs. My waist circumference is a little under 29 inches. According to body fat percentage calculators online, my body fat percent is somewhere between 7 and 9 percent. I think I have a little bit of loose skin on my lower stomach, so should I do some ab exercises to tighten the skin or could it just be more fat? I don't think it is. If it is loose skin, what exercises should I do to tighten it?

It sounds like to me you need to gain some muscle, not lose any more weight. Are you lifting any weights? Also how many cals are you eating? To gain muscle you need to eat maintenance at the very least and probably should be eating over maintenance by 300-500 cals. Yes, you may gain a little fat with the muscle but when you have the muscle where you want it, you can lose the extra fat and be left with a much better shape. Make sure you are getting enough protein in your diet to support muscle growth as well.
Yes, I am lifting weights. I'm also eating 2230 calories a day, which is supposedly maintenance for me.
Add fresh vegetables, fruits in your daily diet. Do regular exercise that not only help lose weight, but also offer several health benefits.
What lifting program are you doing and how long have you been eating at this level?
Based on weight and height I recommend at least maintaining but working the abs hard every other day, as well as doing cardio and other strength training. The waist size is a good measure of body fat % so keep an eye on the trend for the past 7 days measurements avg.
You can't go wrong by just continuing to work out hard and at least maintaining.
@tina0367 - I'm just lifting weights to failure and I just started eating at maintenance this week.
@tboonpickenz - thanks for the info.
But what are you doing with the weights? You can be lifting to failure, but if that means curling 10lb dumbbells 100+ times until you fail, that's not quite the same as doing 3x5 squats, bench, deadlift, cleans.

I bench press 110 pounds to failure as of right now. I started at like 80.
