Hi I would like to join ya'lls challenge. My Name is Shawn. Just joined CC, so I really don't know how to navigate yet. I have struggled all of my life with weight issues. I do need motivation.

I need to think about my Halloween and Christmas goals...I'll come back and edit and include the goal weights. ----edited to add goal weights----

So...I went out to eat last night. I'm likely going to do it again today...I think I'm going to set a goal for myself: dining out once a week.

Seriously, the last month has been hardly anything but restaurants and junk. :/

Anyone else setting a personal goal for the challenge?

Can I join in?

I had a challenge one year when buying Halloween candy.  (I know it's a bit too soon, but.......)  Since I was the only one home to greet the kids, I purposely bought candy I did not like.  Mounds and Almond Joy.  I don't know what it is about those two, but they just don't appeal to or tempt me.  The next morning I asked my roommate to take them into his work and share with his fellow employees.

Welcome to everyone new in the past few days! Smile

Totally.Interested!!!!

How's everyone doing?

I can't get out to run for the next couple of days so I did all three levels of the 30 Day Shred in a row this morning. I'm going to try to go for a walk with the kids later when it is a little cooler. I'm trying to keep control of my eating for the day as yesterday was a little out of control. I basically ate at maintenance level yesterday after having a really good week.

Hi there!

I would love to join. I weigh on a Monday but happy to wait till Friday to post hence my info alreay submitted so I can be in line with the rest of you from next week!

That gets us up to 17 challengers - YAY!

Our combined CSW is 3093.1lbs - lets see how much we can take off that!

We are an ambitious group.  Based on everyone's goals, combined, we are looking to drop 10.55% by Halloween, and 16.69% by Christmas/New Years

So I that would make our combined goals

CSW: 3093.1lbs
CHG: 2766.9lbs (= 326.2lb loss)
CCNYG: 2576.9lbs (=516.2lb loss)

These numbers will change as we as challengers are added and removed, but it's a good snapshot for now =)

I hope you all have a great week!

I have a Thompson body fat scale that I got at Target for around $35. I take the readings with a grain of salt, ya know, because there's a lot of question about how accurate body fat scales are.

Supposedly they're best to track changes in your BFP, rather than knowing exactly what your BFP is. Mine is often thrown off because I weigh 1st thing in the a.m., before I've had any water, so I'm dehydrated.

It's a decent scale. Has had a few hiccups, but for the most part it's consistent.

I'd like to join in if I still can :)

7/29/11=159 I think going to the Cardinals game last night ruined my progress :(

You guys I am totally stressing out!!

I normally weigh everyday. But Im thinking I might be more motivated to do better during the week without weighing cause I wanna see a good change on the scale each Friday.

Anyone else have this dilema.

How is everyone doing??

Don't stress Hillary! That will hamper the weight loss...

If it was me... ok, what I do... Weigh once a week and also do measurements once a week.  You may not lose weight in a week, which will frustrate you, but you will still see the inches melting away...

If you wanna PM me, I have a cool spreadsheet that keeps track of it all for you...

I'm definitely going to reserve my weigh-ins for Friday only now also, hillaryreid.  I think I'll do better that way! :)

This week might end up being totally frustrating for me, but we'll see - turns out it's that time of the month.  Yay.  Wasn't paying attention to the calendar!

Not All Processed Foods Are Created Equal
Fact: a diet containing whole, fresh fruits and vegetables is one of the best for a healthy mind and body. Although true, it can be hard to keep food fresh at home for longer periods of time, and if you have no time to shop every few days, boxed and canned foods become appealing. We often hear about heavily processed frozen dinners and processed foods worth avoiding, but there are minimally processed foods that do pack a lot of nutrition and may be worth having in the fridge or cupboard.
