This seems like a very good time frame to reach my ultimate goal and start 2012 right. :) I've been hitting the gym this summer and altering my eating habits (although I still have a smidge of trouble at night with munching - but I've realized that I have the willpower to NOT do it!) So, this will keep me on track and hold me accountable.

Age: 20
Gender: F
Height: 5'5"ish
Highest Weight (HW): 170 - 80; over 7 years ago.
CC Start Weight (CCSW): 141 lbs
Challenge Start Date: 07/24/11
Challenge Start Weight (CSW): 141
Challenge Halloween Goal (CHG): 135
Challenge Christmas/New Years Goal (CCNYG): 125

Also, I am hoping to continue working out at the gym and lifting weights so I hope to lose a few more inches around my stomach, thighs, arms.

Joan- I use the Miracle/Shiritaki noodles too! I found them at asianfoodgrocer for pretty reasonable and they had lots of different kinds to choose from(all low carb etc). I like the clear ones for most Asian dishes(I got the flat noodles), but the tofu shiritaki are really great with the Italian sauces. They are very filling!

We got back from vacation last night and I will weigh in again on Friday. I was NOT well behaved on vacation. I had such good intentions but they sort of all went out the window with regards to food choices/amounts of food. I did get a little exercise in at least. And today I did get back on the wagon as far as eating and exercise.

woot! welcome!! wouldn't it be SO awesome to have the new year's challenge be to maintain (or continue progress) rather than START on our goals??  yay for us :) can't wait to make my goals. good luck!

Weigh in tomorrow - holy hannah-hope good results. I can't believe all the dessert I didn't eat this week.

My problem has always been eating in the evening-I sit and read and snack. A whole week not doing that is just pretty amazing.

I'm kind of anxious to see what my results will be this week.  I've been completely well-behaved in regards to eating...but it's also that time of the month as of this morning.  Yay. :P  Even if I don't see a number difference, I know I should within a few days, so I'm happy regardless!

Am I the only one who really craves salty junk food around that time of the month?  I almost cracked open a bag of potato chips earlier - potatoes are my weak point all-around.  Instead, I grabbed some puffed wheat, raw almonds and a banana.  Much healthier and more filling.  Crisis averted...for now. ;)

Here's to happy weigh-ins for everyone!

I crave salty food then - we might be low on electrolytes (hmm...)
good pick with the banana - I bet the extra potassium helped.

Hope everyone is happy tomorrow!

Good week for weight loss

See how things work out this next week when I up the calories. Need more salads in diet. Last night had a big steak with salad. Hard part will be giving up carbs slowly and adding in protein instead. Also need to increase exercise, but since we will be babysitting both of our kids' dogs, shouldn't be an issue this week.

hey, i figured out how to include someone else's post.   Lol.  Anyways, another great potassium thing is Zico.  It's pure coconut water w/ or w/o flavor.  I highly recommend the flavored though cuz the plain is kinda ugh.  But, it has 500 some grams of potassium, even more than a banana, at 60 cals vs 100 for the banana.  (the chocolate flavor has 110 cals) l really like them. :)

8/12/11: 168.2 (+1.3 lbs) Boo!!

8/19/11: 167.3 (-0.9) Okay...

8/26/11: 163.9 (-3.4) Yes!!!!

Total Change: -4.6 lbs

So, I was half kidding last week when I said my goal for this week was 165...and I was actually less!  163.9!  A crazy 3.4 pound loss from last week.  I haven't had a big drop in quite a while, so I'm thinking I was due for one anyway.  I've been really good with portions/counting and have been upping my running miles, so I'm guessing that's what did it.  Also, work has been very stressful and busy, which actually REDUCES the amount I snack.  Would LOVE to see 161 next Friday...

Yes, very nice loss!  How's your fiber?  I found that lots of fiber helped me out a whole lot.

(and this morning, my upstairs scale that only does the lb/half lb flashed 131 for a second!)  woot. i didn't have time to run downstairs and re-weigh myself on the wii.  yes, I am totally obsessed.

AHHH, im so frustrated, Ive been eating healthy all week.

But I think I know the reason : I have started going to the gym more regularly, i think it's 3 times this week, so far. + I've exercised like a freak, I think ive excercised 7 times already this week. :)

So the weight I've gained, can this be caused by water weight or anything??
