April 2012- New group to support each other for this month

I have started again on CC after a long time and found out that lots of my old friends have lost their way somehow, just as I had.

Would like to start a new group in order to be able to support each other and find new friends.

So if you would like some motivation and support, join in so we help each other.

We would just be accountable to each other and at least log in once a week to keep a record of our weighins.  We would also keep each other company and have a place to rant about our problems and acheivements.

So here we go :

I am Amanda, 38 year old and am at the moment am at 93.4kgs(206pnds).  Would like to go down to 55kgs but since it is a long way ahead, I prefer breaking it down to small amounts.  So during this month I hope to at least be below 90 kgs ( - 7 pnds).

@ nao3 - I find that raisins really help me get past sugar cravings...or pretty much any dried fruit.  Takes a while to eat and is sweet without being too bad for you.  

@nao3...I love, love sweets. When I just can't get by without it, I get some sweet popcorn cakes or 100 cal packs with something sweet in it. I also like sugar free hot chocolate.

Recently, I've been keeping some hard candy around. My starlight peppermints are only 20 calories each, and they seem to help if I have one when I'm craving something sweet. It takes a while to eat them so that seems to help too.

I found that a tea with sweetener helps me lower a bit my cravings for sugar.  And the trick is to eat less refined carbohydrates cos the more you eat the more you crave.

 

So much going on today, tons of family drama...but very proud of myself for stopping myself before I got out of control!! Thank you all for keeping me accountable!!

I had a bad day yesterday...

ate far too much chocolate. Too much. Bleh.

Today is a better day, well, it will be a better day!

Friday weigh in...178. Lost 3 pounds this week but it is because of the new medication I am on that makes everything taste horrible after 5-6 bites. I've been eating a lot less.

I start back to work soon - I am a landscaper and will be out raking and cultivationg and pruning and hauling debris for 8-10 hours a day very soon. I will have to figure out my food once my activity increases so much. Certainly won't be able to do that work all day based on what I am eating now...but it will be good to get toned up again.

Well I weighed in today at 164lb and haven't lost a thing!! I have managed to be really good most of the week and I have done more exercise. I must stay strong though because usually when this happens I console myself with lots of goodies! Thank you for being here. I need you guys to keep me on track. My main goal for this weekend is not to put any weight on which will be tough with a house full of chocolate!! Happy Easter/Passover everyone. As for sugar cravings I find that the less sugar I eat the less I want. Some sugar free mints or gum usually sorts me out though if I have to give in.
I'd like to join, if I can. I'm 47 yo, 5'6" and weigh 190 lbs. My goal for April is to lose 5 lbs. Hoping for more though! My weigh in day is Monday. That seems to keep me in check over the weekend!
Well this week has been a major failure of epic proportions. Have actually gained. I have been staying at my goal for calories and exercising, so I think it's from eating out a lot this week. Ugh. I just have to remind myself that it's only water weight and stick to the plan!

Hi, If you're up for one more, I'd love to join a group. I'm 160 lbs and would like to get back down to 149 as it's a weight where all of my clothes fit and for reasons of total vanity and the like. Also, for whatever reason, I feel more self confident at that weight.

So it's weigh in day and I hate to post my weight...but, here I go...157.8!! That's up .4lbs. Arg!

I seem to start the week out so strong and then just fall apart at the end. I have so many reasons to be successful at this and just seem to get in my way each time. Needing a good kick in the a**.....

Going to try to focus on one day at a time, not going to worry about the end...working on staying in the moment and not letting it slip away from me...

Happy Easter! Going to MIL's today. Yesterday went to my parents hhouse and ate a little too much! Not going to repeat it today. LOL

Weigh in today: 145.0. No idea why. It's been a pretty good week! So, an unexpected gain of 0.2 lbs. You know, this plauteau can go away whenever it wants too. Like now!

204.6 this morning, the lowest I've ever been!! Hoping to keep it going down :D

After a really crazy weekend, I'm back to Calorie Count. I did manage to weigh in on Friday. I'm down to 232.8lbs, which is down 1.2 from my April start weight of 234 (which I think I forgot to update on the 1st...LOL). Even though I didn't track this weekend, I made sure I didn't go too crazy so that's something anyway.

Thank you so much!! That's a total of 17lbs lost. since January. I feel so good!
