Blood Pressure Success
I always had low blood pressure until I was in my late 30's. Since then (10 years or so), it's been mostly between medium and borderline high
I started exercising and tracking calories only two weeks ago. I'm trying to lose about 1.5 pounds per week. Haven't noticed much of a difference in my belt line yet, but yesterday I took my blood pressure at the store and noticed a huge difference: 109 over 79 with a pulse rate of 58! Lowest it's been in years. Amazing what a difference two weeks of healthy eating and exercise can do.
Congrats! It's nice to see something measurable of success!
You inspired me to check mine -resting heart rate of 59 and bp of 100 over 60. Not that long ago, it was 140 over 94, so this is big improvement.
Yay us!
Great job, good reminder to keep it up :) I have also seen my BP go from borderline high to normal/low in the past year. Awesome feeling!
I found that I have more energy (yippee) but also my memory improved. Do the rest of you remember things better too or am I abnormal again? LOL. I would like to know if there are other members that has better memory with decreasing measurements. I would also like to know if anyone knows why I am experiencing this. I LOVE IT. The better I do, the better things go.

Congrats!! I hope this works for you and you keep the weight off. BP can get harder to control as we age. It can be great one day and horrible the next. And to make matters worse many BP meds list weight gain as a side effect. It seems as though some BP patients find themselves in a vicious weight gain cycle once they begin taking meds. So, losing weight it probably the only answer for real BP control.
Congrats! Keep up the good work. I also have seen a great change in my BP. I was wondering how low is to low. I have been on BP meds for years. While on meds I ran about 128 over 90. I have lost 46 pounds so far since the end of Jan.(36 more to go) My BP is now 117 over 78 before meds and 86 over 60 after meds. Do I need a change in my meds?
Just to clarify, so everyone isn't tempted to drop their BP meds. It's primarily the Beta Blocker class of BP drugs that cause weight gain. Diuretics and Ace Inhibitors do Not have that side effect.

I would speak with my doctor right away. That seems awfully low!
Congratulations Jeremy!
Cheryl, you should ask your doctor if you should discontinue your meds since your
BP is pretty much normal before you even take meds. My doctor said normal has been 120/80 for adults, but recently it's a little lower. You're doing wonderfully!
Btw Cheryl, do you ever get a little dizzy after taking your meds? That's a sign that your BP is too low.

Not exactly an improvement of my memory, but rather my capacity to organize myself. I feel more energy to tackle my projects and I end the day with a sense of satisfaction.

I experience that too, but I definitely remember better. Things I would never care about remembering just stick with me. If I saw something somewhere or put something somewhere I will recall where it is long afterward. It is great. I do not get as frustrated anymore because I know exactly where everything is.
my BP has gone from 139/90 to 102/60 unfortunetaly my memory has not improvrd actually gotton worse, I get distracted easier too, can't tell you how many times I've left meals in the oven or on the stove, that goodness my husband has been home.
Congrats :)
My blood pressure used to be around 150/90
Now it's usually around 105/65 - all due to my weight loss & changing my habits
Congrats! Any improvement in Blood Pressure is wonderful! I take 3 meds for BP and also water pill and potassium pills and since starting my journey in April 2011, I've lost 31 lbs and 1 water pill , 2 potassium pills a day ( I was on 3 a day) and 1 mid-day HBP pill!!! I hope to lose more weight and more pills as I go! Congrats again on your accomplishment!
hi all,
this is great topic for me as i am also having blood pressure since my late 30s and after 3 months of exercise and with medicine of course my bp has gone down to 109/64 or 109/ 71 most of the time but unfortunately my doc will not reduce med....i will see what happens after my annual physical due this month !!!
I have not lost much weight but may be due to weight training for the first time in my life so hopefully making muscles !!!
