Clean Eating Challenge

Quote  |  Reply
Ok, there seems to be a mysterious condition going around that is causing sabotage to our eating. I know I'm not alone here when I admit that my eating this past little while leaves a lot to be desired, causing slight weight gain after such hard work to lose it.

I also know, that I am the same person who was practically flawless in my eating for like almost 90 days straight, so I know I can get ahold of this - who's with me??

There is no deadline for sign-ups, anyone can join at any time!!

All you have to do is check in once a week (at least) & let us know how you're doing. If/when you "cheat", simply let us know & I will restart your start date.

A cheat is defined as whatever a cheat would mean to you personally, whether it be going over your calories, bingeing, not eating enough, too many treats, etc. We all know when we've cheated, so just be honest with yourself

Let's be honest with each other & keep each other eating clean k? The PRIZE to the winner? Well that's easy - weight loss!!!!!!!!! (or maintenance for those at that stage!) Let's do this!

Dee

********************************************* ***

Here's the list of all signed up & the new rules:
(let me know if I missed you)

If you lose your mind & cheat, just let me know. Then you can re-start from the next day. I'll simply unbold your name, along with updating your new start date.

After being clean for a week after a re-start, I'll re-bold your name. So you always have a chance to feel like you are succeeding.

Also, if you just don't feel like you want to partake in the challenge anymore, can you let me know so I can remove your name from the list? Thanks!!

Anyone not checking in for one week (December 25 - December 31) will be removed from the challenge.

Good luck all! People's names in bold have been going the longest or have not restarted for at least a week - way to go!!!!!!!!

ok I  need a restart . I gave in to the emotional eating I will pay for this in more ways then you know.
I have to re-start for October 19 grrrrr
hey i have a question about clean eating for example i went over my calories by 84 however i burned 584 calories more than i ate. so is that clean because i was replacing protein lost during working out? or do i need a restart?
nancy- you are not completely hopeless. I do know exactly what you're feeling cuz I'm just back clean for the last 3 days & it took a lot of un=clean eating to get here.
Yes, I have been hypnotized! That's how we met - I was on his stage! lol! funny hey?
& ya, the more you have to come in here & say "restart", you will want to do good. It'll come, you did so awesome before & that's why I know you WILL do it again.

abooska- congrats on the personal record mile!!! & I personally would not consider going over by 84 cals a cheat. But it's whatever you would consider a cheat. For me, I have to overeat something, you know, to the point of knowing it's just wrong? lol! A lot of people, even if they over eat a bit, will make up for it by more exercise so it will not be a cheat. So whatever you decide, but I wouldn't consider it one.

Dee
Okay, I ate over 2300 cals... Definitely stuffed myself... D: At least food I eat (except dessert) are rather healthy, than say deep fried cheese sticks with mayo slavered all over. (:

So I suppose I gotta start over again. Start date - Oct 19. Thanks Dee!

Ah, thanks, Dee - you're such a sweetheart!  I have a feeling I'll get back into my clean-eating groove.  It's just taking a long time and the 3000 calories p/day days are giving me palpitations.  Everyone have a clean and healthy and happy weekend!  Nancy ps EXCELLENT "how I met my husband" story!
thanks, dee! i didn't  know what the technical definition was so i won't count it because it was protien which your body needs to function after a work out.
Thanks for adding me back in! :)

I'm still eating clean - third place?  No way!!  The mysterious weight gain is starting to go back down... I'm hoping this was just a weird month for me.  I'm now trying to cut back on all refined sugars and on bad carbs- focusing more on brown or enriched rices, beans, and fruit.  Mmmm, apples are the best fall fruit around!!

Having heartburn is actually helping with my clean eating.  If I eat too much of anything at one time I feel really sick, so that's kind of like natural portion control for me, haha.  Hopefully the changes to my diet will help the heartburn go away.  Yum, soy solves everything.
I'm still going- not strong, but still going.
:|
start me over for today please! ughhh
2 more days & I get rebolded! man, it's been a long long time since I've been clean for 7 days or more & it feels great!

***************

nancy- oh I get palpitations when I used to binge on certain kinds of chocolate or sweets. It scared the crap outta me but I'd keep doing it. Silly hey? I have faith in you girl!

abooska - you make your own rules here so as long as you know what they are, no one is gonna question your decisions. We all know when we've crossed that line. but ya, I don't think 84 measly cals count a cheat, to me at least. You're doing great!!!

cerhiunnhn- heck ya you're still in 3rd! way to go! I hope this is a better month for you too & hope the heartburn subsides :)

Checking in for the week - STILL CLEAN!!!!  and I've found myself being a bit less anal about sticking to what I've planned in advance.  A good step toward making this a lifestyle change rather than a diet!!!!
PLEASE PUT ME BACK TO DAY 1!!!!!!! I HAVE BEEN SO BAD!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh....... here goes, the thing I was dreading most....... telling everyone that I failed BIG TIME yesterday! I started the day perfectly with my porridge and cinnamon, then, through boredom, hanging around all morning waiting to start work I started tp pick at things! Started on the healthy things, natural yoghurt, rice cakes and lo cal soup, then....... before I knew it 3 small choc biscuit bars! Went to work at 2pm and was craving a peanut butter kitkat (270cal!), you probably dont have them in USA but I LOVE them, they remind me of my holidays in Florida, so much of your choc bars are peanut butter, in the UK its fairly new! SO......when I finished work, straight to buy the kitkat! Then I went to TGI,s with my ex, ate FAR too much, 2 potatoe skins with cheese and bacon, chicken and cheese quesadillas with cajun rice, then the ultimate GORGEOUS apple waffle crunch!(It is big enough for 4 people to share as far as Im concerned! I would share it but no one else likes it!) I asked the waitress to make sure it was extra big (how embarrassing!) she said to me its for 2 to share and no one ever clears it all, I told her that I would and I always do! It was HUGE........yes, I ate the lot! I was about to POP! Then when I got home I ate the pick n mix sweets that we had bought before the meal, AND finished my ex,s bag aswell, must have been 250g worth! Was about to go to bed and decided to finish the night off with a hot choc and a double decker bar, (280cals!) I really was bloated! I layed in bed and reckoned up that I must have done a 5000 cal binge! I have done SO well, I have feel that all my hard work has gone to waste.......AGAIN! I have had to write all this for you to read because it is just disgusting that I can eat so much! PLEASE encourage me to be good someone, I need inspiration from you! I am now on my official "BINGE FREE DAY 1" I am not even going to allow a treat now for as long as I can, I must concentrate on my 3 meals a day, just clean healthy food! I have a busy week ahead with the children off school and then its my sons 13th on friday, yes...... we are off to TGI's for his big birthday meal, I promise I will be on the salad and definately no puddings! (maybe a slither of birthday cake to celebrate IF I have been good all week!) Hope you are all doing well, bet you will all be in shock about the amount Ive eaten, I feel SO embarrased! Oh well, fresh start again and I must admit I do feel REALLY positive, I usually do after a big binge! Keep in touch everyone, hope you are all doing well, H x

Hey,

This challenge sounds like a great idea... can I join??

If I can, it's probably starting yesterday with the clean eating.

one more day till I'm re-bolded, I'm soooo excited! Lost 5.6 lbs since Tuesday & I'm glad to be back at this. It feels so much better than when I was eating like crap & gaining my hard earned weight loss back.

**********************

h8ylylouise - wow girl, you did a great job in cheat department. But I guess you will have gotten it all out of your system now ya? You can do this. Try & remember how full & ucky you felt the next time you want to do it. Also, for me at least, knowing I gotta come in here & spill the details to all of us, makes me think twice about some things.  If you are finding that there are spells of time where you are hungry, try having 4 meals a day or even 5 instead of your 3 but just spread your cals out over them. that way you're eating more often on purpose & then your metabolism is constantly working too. Good luck at the restaurant , be good, I know you will ;)

leafsfan17- welcome!!! I've added you. All you need to do is report in here at least once a week. Let me know if you need a restart on your date & if you ever want to no longer participate let me know too so I can remove you. Good luck !
Clean :)
YES........ nearly time for bed and I survived day1 PERFECTLY! Thanks Deejlb for the advice, you are right, coming on here and spilling all what Ive eaten infront of everyone is kinda embarrasing! It sure has helped me, other than my bad binge this saturday! Throughout my 8 days of good eating, everytime I was a little worried about a binge coming on, I thought of all my cc friends, "how can I binge now and have to tell everyone!" It worked for a while but on saturday before I knew it, my eating had taken over! Well, Im back on track now, ready to start the week afresh! Today I have had porridge for brekkie - 200cals, porridge for lunch - 200cals, vegetable rice and chicken tikka for dinner - 530cals and natural bio yoghurt, big tub - 250cals to cleanse my system out! A diet hot choc - 40 cals to finish the night off! Thats just about 1300 cals for the day, thats good enough for me, hopefully all that junk will soon be flushed out and I will be feeling full of clean nutritious food! Looking forward to day2, my kitchen is full of real healthy foods to last all week, and yes......I am so looking forward to TGI's on Friday, I will definately go for the healthy menu this time! I need to look nice and slim to show that waitress that I DID get away with eating all that apple waffle crunch to myself! (little does she know about my bad binges!) Speak soon everyone and good luck for a new week, lets be "super healthy!" H x
h8 - congrats on day one down!!! Keep on going, you can do it. I find the only way I can get away without telling my cc friends I messed up is to not come on here & I don't wanna do that. So a great way to stop an impending binge is to come on here, read some good comments & get distracted & re-focussed. I see a successful day 2 in your future!
TERRIBLE day on saturday!
Hi gang.  Um, I think I can report in "clean-ish"... Yeah, let's say clean.  I'm having to recover step-by-step.

I'm incorporating a bowlful of fiber cereal at lunchtime every day because winter will be my downfall, calorie-wise.  It's not even that cold here but people really pack it on in winter.

Hayley Louise, your binge sounds scrumptious.  I haven't had a Double Decker bar in YEARS, I love those.

Tonight we're invited out to dinner and I'm making the £$%& chocolate chip cookies again, and hopefully they'll be good enough that everyone will take them off my hands!  Nancy
