Walked/jogged 3 miles yesterday afternoon and had a small apple for snack last night.
I didn't get up to go to the gym this morning, it's going to rain today so I won't walk so thought it would be good to hit the gym tonight......maybe a excuse not to have to get up at 5:15 to go to the gym????? Who knows but I won't be able to get with the trainer until the later part of april, they do a biggest loser type thing and it ends in April, I want her undivided attention so that will be fine, I'll just use the machines that are self explanatory:)
How many reps should I do? Should it be light amount of weights and more reps or heavier weights and less reps?
I will weigh Thursday as my birthday is Friday and they are cooking at work!!! I'll be 34......hopefully soon to be able to say 34 and toned!!! at least somewhat:)
Sherry...To get started with the weights, use a comfortable weight. something not too heavy that you can't do at least 12 reps and nothing so light that you can do 12-15 reps without blinking an eye. It's going to take awhile for your muscles and nerves to learn to work together. Doing light weight/lots of reps does nothing for fat burning muscle growth....it only increases endurance. But there is no need to kill yourself either. I'm sure you're alot stronger than you think you are! Happy Birthday Friday!!!!
Cassy...did I hear right that now you're getting snow on top of the high river? Mother Nature sure is picking on ND!

Thx for all the concern from everyone. Today is the first day that most of the people in this region can start to relax. The river is down below 38 feet, which is below most of the premanant dikes. They announced the number that that 5.5 MILLION sandbags were made in Cass county in less then 5 days. It is amazing how this community steps up and helps out each other.
Joan~ you heard right, mother nature sure is laughing at us. We have a bunch of snow on the ground again. Guess better snow then rain, the cold weather prevented all the water from draining into the river and rising it even further.
Sherry~ YAY on the gym, hope it's what you need.
I have had issues motivating this week. The idea of running thru a foot of snow has lost all it's fun and I'm so ready for it to really be spring. Tho I am really hoping for a slow warm up so the river doesn't come back above it's current level. This is my highest mileage week, so I need to try to get most to all the miles in this week...I'm already 9 miles behind.
Joan thanks so much on the tips, so I need to do heavier on the weights and less reps because I"m wanting to burn fat!

Cassy- so glad to hear the river is back down, mother nature has been pounding ya'll with out ceasing....you need sunshine and pretty skies!! Hope you can get your mileage in.

I did go to the gym, was there 45 minutes, did a mile on the treadmill just to warm up, jogged most of it and then hit the machines did 3 reps of 15 each on each machine and then worked my arms with the free weights 2 reps of 10, will probably need to go heavier on the amount of weight I put on them next time, but I feel good, I feel the burn in my arms:) I'm so out of shape!!!!
I will weigh Thursday, I hope to see a decent number at least 145 still, not higher than 145, would absolutely love any thing under 145 but we will see.

Still being good, 3 miles tonight at the track was able to job 1 whole mile and then just alternated between walking and jogging.
Came home wanted something sweet had some cookies that were large soft lemon cookies they are 100 calories a piece, well I decided on a small apple with a little peanut butter, thought I did good making that choice.
Going to hit the gym in the morning, mom is cooking supper tomorrow night for my birthday.

I weighed 145.5 well in between 145/146 I'm so mad at the scales, I have been doing so good but somewher I haven't been doing good enough I guess, I feel smaller I guess that counts for something.
Mom is cooking supper tonight so I know I won't be as good but I'm really going to try.

Me~ Struggling a bit lately and having a hard time getting the motivation to exercise... but, I've still been doing it. Had a couple of bad days of eating lately and am trying really hard to be good today... so far so good. I think pms is definitely affecting my eating/attitude lately and I can't wait until it's over! Been craving all kinds of crappy food too. But, I will beat it and I will work out tonight!
I want to go from 150 to 130. I lost 7 pounds so far so I'm down to 143 but I can't seem to get down to 140! I have a problem with over eating on the weekends :\
Hi Kristine, congrats on the 7 lbs lost so far! Yeah, those weekends can be killer! I've been pretty lax on the weekend lately and have been treating myself and going out w/the hubby... doesn't do too much damage for me though because I've met my goal and am only maintaining. What are your stats, etc? I'm 28 yr old, 5'7", 135 lbs.
I did really good today! I ate healthy all day and resisted a co-workers delicious looking homemade chocolate cake. Drank a lot of water, stayed away from the junk food and soda and didn't even reach my maintenance calories... only ended up just over 1600 today. It's okay though because I'm at the high end of my maint. range and wouldn't mind dropping a pound or two. Worked out tonight too... did J.M. 30 Day Shred and high incline on the treadmill for awhile.
Went shopping quick after work today and ended up getting a really cute sundress... makes me feel good when I put it on, so it's definitely a winner. Cheered me up again. :) I think I'm back on track now.
NO gym this morning....it's my birthday and I skipped it !!! Didn't eat overly bad last night 2 pieces of bread so that wasn't good but wasn't so miserable like I usually am.....
Food today at work....need I say more......
Karey- I sure hope you have a good time on your cruise...I would love to go on one...hang in there on your exercise....you are doing to great to stop now, and you found another great dress... that in itself is motivating!!!
Kristine- we will all be here to support you, like Karey what are your stats, I'm ugh...34 today:) 5'7" and 145 pounds, my lowest has been 139, started out at 200..scary thought....you just take it day by day, I'm trying to get back to 140 would be great to be under but I will be happy getting back there, those last few pounds are the hardest, but you can do it!!!

I had the day off because of an eye doctor appointment, but I got up early anyways and did my lifting workout, my last one in Stage 3! I felt kinda queasy most of the time and my stomach kept gurgling.. didn't eat anything until after the workout when I had a protein shake w/light soymilk and a small banana nut Vitatop muffin. Managed to keep them down and then went to the eye doctor. Got through that, but now I look like a freak because my eyes are dialated... one pupil is HUGE and the other is pretty small. LOL Went to a couple of stores and got a few things for my cruise... some new shorts, sunscreen, 2 disposable underwater cameras. After I got home I walked the dog (short walk) and managed to down a Luna Bar and light english muffin w/some PB on it and more water. Stomach is still gurgling... not sure if it's hungry or just plain angry. Maybe I have a stomach bug or something... 2 people at work are sick w/some sort of 24 hour flu, but I haven't vomited or anything...
Had a good birthday, but didn't eat well at all, back on track today, went to the gym tonight, it's cold again here....I'm so tired of it teasing us, warm then cold....I'm sure some stuff will freeze tonight.
I'm off Thursday and Firday and I'm so ready!!!

Karey~hope your tummy feels better and doesn't get worse on you. I'm sure your eyes being all dialated didn't help any.
Kristine~ I feel your pain, I'm having a heck of a time getting my weight off. Trying really hard to stay positive and focus on the fact that I'm not gaining.
As far as weather goes for us, the river is well down to a safe level, BUT.....they aren't sure how long it's going to stay down. They are forecasting a 75% chance the Red River will hit 41' (which is .5' higher then the last crest). So all the dikes are just sitting there until we are out of the woods.
I had a blast over the weekend at my convention (posted 1 pic). I did eat crappy food all weekend, didn't drink as much as I figured I was going to and I ran 14 miles on Sat. morning. I also ran 9 miles this morning. Getting really excited my first half marathon is next saturday. Not sure if I'll get a PR for it since the last few weeks my running has been off. Anyway you look at it I'll have fun.
Gotta keep on track this week, I will do it!!

I wanted to check with everyone, I'm still struggling to get out of 140's, it's so close I can see it! but just when I get on track, and start losing quickly , I slip up and start eating like a crazy person... oh the struggle continues, but I got back on track this week, started trying to walk/jog/run 5miles and I started eating breakfast... I realized I was slipping on the breakfast and was over eating at night! so back to focus plus I have a goal date, a real real goal date and that is May24th! my bday...

Well no gym tonight they close at 7, will go in the morning after I drop Summer off to school, then come home shower and go shopping:) Eating good again today.....got the munchies that's not good just need to keep drinking water!!

My body is still screwed up started spotting today, my dr. appointment is Friday so maybe he can tell me something, I'm guessing maybe another cyst and he's going to tell me the IUD has to come out....guess I'll just wait and see....
My interview got moved to next week, the lady I was meeting with is going to have a new great grandbaby so she was going to be out of the office...no biggie not stressing about it, I know what I want, if they can give that to me fine if not I'm happy where I'm at right now; it's in God's hands I'm just praying for guidance.
WOW! Seeing that all the same motivated ladies are still here is like coming home again!
Well, I am stuck between 149 and 151. Thats still down from my 5 year stay at 157-161! But I had gotten down to 147 before the holidays!
So I am commited to starting NEW today! My goal is back to 147 by the end of next week! :)
I will try to catch up in the next few days, but it's so good to be here right now!

Carie~ haven't heard from Brigette in forever. I know the feeling, I'm stuck in about that same spot. I'm hoping after the Fargo marathon I will do more biking and hopefully add swimming and that should *fingers crossed* help me bring the weight back down. To the point the only fat I have left is right around the middle.
Sherry~ sounds like you are getting yourself back on track, yay!! Yucky about the spotting...hopefully it will get resolved soon.
Soraya~ yikes about the stalker, hope it's under control. My babies are doing great, I'm training for 2 marathons this year. Run a half marathon next Saturday (can't believe it's that soon), first marathon is May 9. Sounds like you need to eat more in the morning and during the day to counter that night eating. Me, I just brush my teeth and go to bed, LOL.
Did my second 9 mile run of the week. Debating if I should run 9 like on my plan for saturday, or if I should run 20-22. I have only run a 20 mile once this training and I'm feeling unsure about my race because of it. But I don't know if I run a 22 mile run this week if I'll be recovered enough to run a race next saturday. Though I'll just (I know, I know) run 13.1 miles next week. Maybe I'll run the 22 miles this week and then shorten up all my runs next week so I can recover. I've been tired all the time and I know it's because of where I am in my training. One month from today I will be running my first full marathon of the year. Can't beleive it's that soon already.

Cassy~ I took a look at your new pic.. I like the dress, very cute. Instead of doing the 9 miler on Saturday or the 22, couldn't you just run 15 or so... somewhere inbetween? That way you're not too tired, but know you'll be able to make it... I don't know anything about running, so maybe that makes no sense at all.
I've been plugging along... trying to behave and exercise at least 6 times a week. Eating healthy and cutting a few calories here and there just so I can sit at the low end of my maintenance range. That way when I go on my cruise I won't have to worry about gaining too much, lol. ;)
