I had 2 donuts for lunch - You heard me!
So I had two glazed twist donuts for lunch today. I know it was completely wrong and I'm drinking a ton of water to help flush me out but hey I went for it, so I own it. I will count them as 800 calories so small dinner for me with lots of veggies!
I'm sure there are others on here who have put back a meal of shame like me.
How is the water helping, exactly?
I have, I just had poptarts for lunch, blegh. I didn't even enjoy them.
Ok, so it's not a great lunch nutritionally, but calorie wise it's not horrible. Dunkin' Donuts glazed donut is 180 calories. Unless you're eating giant donuts that's no where's near 800 calories, more like 360.
Why would you be ashamed for eating donuts? They're just fried dough. Don't let society trick you into thinking that eating something other than salad makes you "bad."
If you feel ill now, then learn from your lesson and don't do it again. If you feel good about treating yourself, then smile, wipe the crumbs off of your face, and move on. Maybe you'll try eating donuts for lunch again sometime in a year or two, or perhaps you've gotten it out of your system for good. We need treats sometimes!
I haven't had a donut in almost a year now and would really fancy a nice Belgian cream filled one with cream cheese frosting, so lucky YOU!
Coulda been worse. Today I saw a co-worker (mid 50's, 30-40 pounds over weight, diabetic, had a heart attack, all kinds of meds, walks shuffles with a cane) eating one of those monstrosities of a cheeseburger patty in a glazed doughnut.
I eat 3 servings of Haagen Daas dulce de leche ice cream sometimes. It tastes good. Food shouldn't be a privilege system with rewards and punishments. I track calories to stay cognizant of how future meals will affect my nutrition, not to beat myself up over "spilled milk." Eating unhealthy things does not compare to lying, cheating, stealing, harming others, fraud, etc.

THIS. If there is one thing I think we should all stop doing, it's rate food as if it had a moral value. Food has varying levels of nutrition. No food is "good" or "bad" and there is no food that you can eat that will make YOU "good" or "bad." Sorry to sound preachy, but it's only been since I worked through the idea that healthy, nutritious food was a punishment for being fat and salty, fatty, sugary junk was a REWARD that I've been able to gain a healthy relationship with food which, frankly, is more important to me than weight or looks.
Ring donuts are usually around 220 calories each and 440 calories won't actually make a difference if it's only once. You need to overeat by 3600 calories to gain a pound of weight! The worst thing you could do now would be to panic, give up on the diet and binge or equally starve yourself to compensate which leads to binging, just put it behind you and continue as you would have otherwise. Also try to learn what you triggers are for overeating and use that to combat your cravings in the future.

You got that, but the proverbial one step further is that people actually label themselves good or bad depending on what they ate...Its human nature I suppose, but sometimes it seems silly...
Could've been worse. Be glad you were able to stop at two, because some of us have much less self control...
I rarely have doughnuts, but when I do I'll go through half a dozen.
