I recently moved to a new state away from all of my family and friends. My husband is a Worship Pastor and felt called to a different Church. Everyone has been very nice here, but it's just not the same. I stumbled onto this site Feb 14th and have recieved many blessing from it. It is encouraging to read about other peoples experiences, the good and the bad. I don't know what's wrong with me lately. I am going home in a few weeks, maybe that will help.

its hard being away from everything you know. I moved from NC to NY 2 years ago, everything I ever knew was in NC so I know the depressing feelings you are having. It will help when you go home to visit and come back, thats when you realize where home truly is. My home is in NY now and I know that and it made a big difference realizing that. I would recommend doing something I didnt do and thats to make friends immediately, it will make a big difference if you feel a part of your new area.
aquade- welcome! i see you are in illinois!! the best state in the union!!! it's where i live.. what town are you in????
are you going home for a visit or to stay? i'm nosy.. so bear with me.. hehe

I live in Orland Park. Moved from Lincoln Nebraska. I am flying back for four days with my two children. It will be a short trip, but I hope to stay for a week after the kids are out of school.
oohhhh.. i know vaguely where orland park is! i know it's a southern suburb.. haha.. i have lived all of my life, except 4 years in college, in the western/south western suburbs.. i know this area well.. :) welcome to the fair state of illinois.. :) you aren't alone!! :)
how old are your kids? I flew with my two at age 1.5 and 3 last Jan....it was insane!!!
My kids are 6 and 8. This will be their 2nd time on an airplane. My son is a little nervous about going without his dad. They are best buds.
aquade, I know exactly how you feel. Nine years ago I moved from Minnesota to Arizona, a very long way. I have no relatives here, so it was a big adjustment. Now, this is where I love to call home. My sisters still think I've made a mistake, but I'm glad that I live here. Hang in there, it may take a little while, but as you get involved with the kids' schools and the church, you'll make connections in your new home.
aquade, moving can be rough...the only thing I know is that time can only make it better. It's hard, but try to throw yourself into your new surroundings as much as possible. Soon, they will become more and more familiar and start feeling more and more like home.

But today I am no longer listening to my feels and eatting because I am tired, happy, sad, ect... I will to eat to be healthy.
