hi!

i'm 28. i'm trying to lose a total of 170 lbs. i've lost about 45 lbs so far, so i've got about 125 to go. i want to be 150, too! how tall are you? i'm 5'6"

Hello!

I am 27...28 in 12 days! I am currently 298 pounds at 5'10".

I want to lose 170 lbs. total. I started this Sept. 24, 2007, I started at 360 lbs. I have lost 62 pounds in 4 months and hopeing my progress keeps up.

I realize now that we really do have attainable goals, if I lose 62 pounds so far anyone can do it!

I am going to the YWCA tonight, I am still nervous it is only my second time going! Wish me luck!

Tiff

i actually lost 30 lbs b/n sept 2006-dec 2006, and then about 18 lbs in all of 2007. when i first started, i was dedicated. i watched watch i ate, counted calories (no more/less than a 1000 cal deficit), and exercised 3-5 times a week. that's how i lost weight in 2006. i 2007, i moved to a new state, stopped going to the gym, changed jobs twice, moved back to my orginal state, and i just kind of lost focus. over the hoildays i gained back almost all the weight i lost in 2007. it was only 16 lbs, but that was more than enough.

so i decided, again, to stop screwing up my own weight loss efforts and i got back on the wagon 2 days after xmas. from 12/27 to today, i've lost 13.2 lbs. i didn't think i'd be able to reverse the holiday damage so quickly, but i'm not complaining! again, i give myself a 1,000 calorie deficit, watch my fat, sugar, and salt intake, and go to the gym 3-5 times/week. for 30-60 mins each time. i have to go to the gym b/c i won't exercise at home.

way to go, tgegogeine!!! i go to the Y, too!!!
I'm 23, 5'3, 229 (11 lbs lost!) and very very curvey.

I don't have any long term goals, but right now, I want to get down to 220... and then 200... and then 190... I guess I just want to see where I look food and feel comfortable and healthy.

It's encouraging for me to know that there are other women out there who are close to my size and who are taking the steps to get healthier!

you can do it!
dalmalama......WOW 13.2 in one month....awesome!

As long as we keep strong, mentally, we can do it!

i wanna ask all you ladies a question:

when  you see some of the posts by the thinner cc members, who want to get down to like 110, 120, what do you think of that? firstly, i can't even imagine myself at that weight b/c it's just too skinny. i'm very very curvy, too, and i like it! secondly, some of them come off as kinda greedy to me. like, you're 5'10', why do you want to be 120 lbs? that's unsafe, ridiculous, and just dumb!! if you're petite and looking at a weight like that, i get it, but taller than 5'4"? no way!

or am i just looking at it through fat glasses?

btw, good job, feddiechick!!

dalmalama
First of all, I didn't get back to your earlier post soon enough to congratulate you on really cracking down and losing over 13 pounds in one month! Way to go!!!! I would like to lose 30 by my birthday in May.

As to your question, I agree with you 100%! I am trying to lose weight because I am the heaviest I have been in my life, and it is taking a toll on me. I want to be healthier because someday I will have kids and I want to be able to keep up with them. Also, it would be a really great feeling to be able to shop in stores like Aero again. These girls who are like 130 lbs and tall or less and trying to lose 20 lbs or so are just kind of crazy I think. I mean, it can't possibly be healthy to be that thin. I know that it's kind of the standard that hollwood sets, but the thing is, Nicole Richie and Mary Kate Olsen are that thin and it really doesn't look good. I think Reese Witherspoon looks healthier, even though she probably weighs 15 lbs more than Mary Kate and Nicole. I do agree that these other girls are being greedy. That is why I started this thread....I had to know that there were real women who were actually facing real weight challenges to help me through this.

Way to go feddiechick on the 11 pounds!!!

Also, I think your ten pound goals are smart, it makes it seem more plausible to reach, rather than thinking "Oh I still have 88 lbs to go!" That is the outlook my husband is taking as he tries to lose weight also.

I agree that it is helpful to know there are other women who are losing weight the healthy (if not hard) way!

ennazus520, is that your wedding pic? if it is, you look really pretty, and i LOVE your dress!
Hi! I'm 20 years old (21 in June heeey!) 5'7" and 244 pounds. I want to be about 160 because I have really wide hips and I don't want to be too bony.  I've lost 6 pounds so far in the past month or so. Your wedding dress is lovely!

Hi!  I'm 24, 5'7" and started on Jan. 1 at 260 pounds.  I'm down to 247 now (Yeah!), but want to end up around the 150 mark.  I would love to be part of your group and lose this weight together.

Here is the plan that I'm following so far:
- Eat several small meals each day, never any meal about 400-500 calories
- Start eating as early in the AM as possible to get my metabolism going
- I have brought a "grocery store" to work-- all kinds of healthy snacks and meals
- Making it to the gym 3-5 times per week to do at least 30 mins of cardio and at least 2 days of light weight training

I hope to follow everyone success stories on here!

Hi I am new to this site and found you guys.....Congrats to all of you! I just joined a gym about 3 weeks ago and have lost 9 lbs so far!

I am 5'3 and before the 9 lbs was 295.....I nearly died when I saw that number!!!! As long as it goes down instead of up I will be happy! I have no true deadline but I still want to lose it as fast as I can and still be healthy.

The problem I am having now is that I am not eating enough. I am eating (Well trying to eat) 6 times a day (3 meals/3 snacks) but the MOST I have gotten in a day was like 1500 calories....I am working out minimum 1 1/2 hours 6 days a week so I know I need to eat more than that.....Do any of you have suggestions?!

Thanks for the words of encouragement, ladies!

and also - yes! It freaks me out when women are 120 or 150 and want to get smaller. I think, where will you go? What will be left?

The charts say I need to be 130 to be on the upper side of my health range. 130 freaks me out! I'm a bit girl! I have huge Swedish shoulders and wide Irish hips! I don't think there's any way, with my bone structure, that I will get that tiny.

And also it kind of makes me sad to see all of these small girls wanting to get smaller. It makes me wonder what they think of me, being a big girl, and it also makes me wish they loved themselves more. They are an ideal I can never achieve, or don't even think about achieving, and I think "you're all ready the perfect size. what more do you want?"

but maybe I'm just a fat girl being jealous. heheh.

Hi Everyone!

First of all, congratulations to those who have already lost so much!

Secondly :)  I'm 22 (turning 23 this year) and I need to lose about 120 lbs to get to my goal weight - but I'd be happy with 150 lbs instead of the 132 they recommend! XD

Yeah, I'm definitely in on this one. I've already lost 50 but I still have 75 until a healthy BMI!

My name is Jenn, I'm 22, 5'3.5" and from Canada.

My current weight is 215, and I want to be 199 by February 25th -crosses fingers- I wanted to be under 200 for Valentine's, but oh well! My ultimate goal weight is 140lbs, although it is still heavy for my height, if I lose more it's all good, haha.

And, OMG HEATHER <3

*squee* Jenn!!! <3
