That is GREAT! Next time you are at the grocery store....look at 30 lbs of dog food...It is A-LOT!! Also...that is 120 sticks of butter! (as you can tell....I have thought a-lot about what 30 lbs means...LOL)

Hey thanks for that visualization, that is an awesome way to look at it!!  Maybe I can lose another bag of dog food or melt 120 sticks of butter of of my body!!!

Chelle,

My husband and I are doing it together and we both just got to 30 pounds too. We started October 15, so I'd say we did it quickly. We are very scared though...Christmas is upon us! We don't want to go back over the 30 mark. He only has less than 5 pounds to go to reach his goal, I have about 70 :-( But we'll get there anyway.

Congratulations!

Thanks pennylane126!  Congrats to you two as well!!  I would love to have someone to share my weight loss journey with!!  That would be awesome!

I have about 30 to go now or 40....I will see when I get there ;)

Congratulations!  I just recently reached my 30 pds lost also.  I'm looking forward to the next 30 in 2010.  Keep up the great work!!!

how did you it, give some advice, i want to lose at least 30 to 40 pounds.

thxs

That is really great. I just hit 30 this weekend, and now have 45 to go!! Keep plugging away!

Wonderful, chelle!!  Congratulations!!!!  You better be darned proud.

I'm a little proud myself.  I hit the 50-pound mark last week for a total of 87 since 2004. I still need to lose at least 35 more pounds, but I KNOW I can do it.

I wish you, me, and everyone on CC continued success and a great 2010!

Yes I did.  My 2009 New Years Resolution was to lose 30 lbs in 2009.  I didn't get started until September but this morning the scales show me 34 lbs. light.  To God be the Glory!

I'm so close!...I only need to lose 2.6 lbs and I'll be at 30!  Way to Go!

CONGRATULATIONS!

yes, I lost 30 pounds at the end of September. I have maintained since. I plan on losing another 10 pounds next year (actually, I care more about losing another 2 pant sizes for than anything).

Maintaining has been so much easier. At first I continued to count calories, however, I learned that if I continued to eat the same portion sizes, high protein/fiber foods and continued staying active, that I did not have to count anymore.

I recently injured myself through exercise and had to lower my activity level so I have counted calories on some foods (sandwiches, cereals, treats...) to prevent weight gain.

Enjoy your new self! This is a major accomplishment and you deserve to relish in the moment!

Just starting. Thanks for all the success stories. This helps me a lot.

Congrats Chelle5787! =)

Do you have any tips or words of wisdom for people like me who feel that they are having trouble staying motivated? (Even after reading an awesome story like yours, i just don't feel that I can make it happen) =(

Congrats! That is such an awesome feeling, I'm sure. I have not even started yet, but I'm hoping to be at 30 pounds lighter by the end of the summer!

I am so close! I wanted to be 30 pounds down by Christmas, but to be one pound shy isn't bad. I am sure I will be right behind you next week. I am super moviated this week. Thanks for the added motivation.  I still have 25 more to go. Keep up the great work. We will get there!

Any words of wisdom? I have only lost 7 pounds in 5 months, i guess some weight lost is better than no weight lost, right?

You're seven pounds less than you were five months ago, Veronica.  Definitely, YES!  It's a lot better than no weight lost.

I will say I couldn't have lost what I have without counting virtually every calorie.  I measure or weigh everything I eat.  Because I'm very sedentary, I started out at 1200 calories a day.  When I hit a plateau, I upped it to about 1400 a day, and it worked!!  I'm not losing as fast as I once was, but that's okay.  I'm STILL losing.  What works for me won't necessarily work for everyone, but maybe give it a try?  Good luck to you

I've hit the 30 lb mark recently too. In fact, I weighed myself Christmas Ev e morning and I was down a total of 38 lbs! I am up 1 lb since that time (I weigh myself daily, but only record once a week). Maybe I'll be back down that 1 lb come weigh in day... we'll see!

I am almost at the 30lb. mark. I need to lose 3.4 more pounds. I am taking things one step at a time. All together I need to lose 63.4 pounds. I am loving the results. Good luck to everyone on here!

Great job!!  I just recently lost 30 lbs and it will be off for good. I feel so much lighter and don't want to go back to the way I was. Still have another 50 to go.
