Hey, let's lose 7 lbs by Labor Day (Labour Day to you Canucks) - Closed to new members
Hi everyone. Okay, this is going to be the best group yet. We can all lose 7 lbs by Sept 6 ( Labor day). Remember that the more you post the more weight you tend to end up losing.
Here's the format and it starts this Friday (July 9th)

Also, if you find that you've retained a lot of water for whatever reason, consider using the trend line instead of your weight line for that week as it's probably a more accurate reading anyway. One last thought which we've discussed before: if you think about it, it really does take far less time to lose weight than it does to put it on. Most of us have put on pounds over a period of several years but you can take off a tremendous number of pounds in a year and it really is so much easier to do when you have like minded people around you.
For new members, please tell us something about yourself: eg: goals, history etc.
By the way, we're still awaiting the return of Queen Sarah, our illustrious founder.
Best of luck,
Lawrence, still the pretender to the throne

So I started logging again and I'm still exercising. I feel good but I was originally shotting for 105 now I'd be happy to be back at 108 where I was stuck for awhile.
The summer is difficult but whenever I log I eat less and differently because I feel funny loggin chocolate bars and ice cream. Although I still had a beer last night.
Good luck to everybody.
Hi everyone! I am 5'2. I had a good week so my starting weight will be lower than I thought (2lbs down from last week). If I lose the 7lbs I will be in the 140's which is uncharted territory for me in my adult life.

Hi everyone. sounds like a great group but let's close it after today. We've found that the more involved people are in a group such as this, the more weight they lose, so let's try to post.....news, recipes, anything at all helps.
Here's a video people might like to see which gives all sorts of easy tips to lose weight eg: using a smaller sized plate; consuming more low fat milk products, weighing your food before you eat it. It's actually pretty entertaining.

Hey All, I'm 32 - 5'4" - 139lb (was 133lb on June1st 2010). Had to travel for work and blew it! Very dissapointing! So now trying to get back on track. My goal is 120lb but 7lbs by LD is ok too.
I count calories, exercise by walking dog, walking self in VERY HOT weather during the day and do eliptical at night (.5 to 1hr)

I am only going to weigh myself once a week now. I have been in the habit of weighing every morning and I get very upset when I see the daily flucuations. I may have my BF hide the scale till Friday mornings so I don't freak out every day.
Good luck all!

OH MY! Lots of people! lol...
Sarah here, haha!!! There are so many of us! Not suprising anymore to me. I wasn't the only one ever...haha!
Anywho! I am excited to start this challenge with the group. As for the regulars in the group, I have tried to add some wedding pics, but I am not having any luck. Facebook Sarah Boggs and I will add you, sorry that I can't get them to work.
We weren't successful on this last "try" of things, DH and I, so I am going to join this challenge!! I will update with NEWS when and if we get any...lol.

sarah I'll have to sign on to see your wedding pictures. It's always a very joyful time. Well keep trying it's so much fun and keeps the marriage happy. Just remember you'll have to stay and socialize during those 9 months.
Lawrence you are always good at giving us useful information. I just come on and talk, vent and inform on my life and listen to others.
Tomorrow 9th birthday party for 9 boys at my house. Hope it doesn't rain boys are harder then girls. If it's not raining and not too hot we'll just do lots of sports outside(volleyball, running bases, water balloons, yard darts, etc) If it's raining we're probably in trouble.
I've never actually participated in a group weight loss thing like this, usually tackling it on my own. This time my daughter joined me and discovered CC while surfing for diet help and ideas. She's a dancer and wanted to lose some weight (which she has and that's another story entirely). She's away right now at a Ballet Intensive course and I miss her but we still discuss our menus. She's working on maintaining though not too successfully. Getting the calories right has been a challenge and she's still losing a bit. It's tough when you're six feet tall and surrounded by tiny, skinny dancers and dancing 6 hours a day. And being at the mercy of a university cafeteria on a summer schedule. She can't wait to get home and eat more freely.
Now, I've had an interesting time because I've been trying a lot of new foods. Even sushi and yams. And a variety of greens. It's really been a good experience for me. It allowed me to travel and still lose weight. Most of the time I've been doing CC I've been traveling. Well, enough rambling. Don't want to spam you all.
Ugh 1300 calories and it's only 3:00 on a Friday.
Not good, maybe I won't have a glass of wine tonight.

Allright, this is my first time posting or even joining a group like this, but if I really lost 7lbs that would put me almost to my goal, so here goes! :)
I've been working off and on to lose about 15 lbs for the last couple of years. After talking with a nutritionist last fall and learning a *lot* about my metabolism and what and how I should be eating, I am trying to reinvigorate my efforts! (yeah it took me a while to get back to it, lol) I'm so glad to have found this site; I've already lost about 4 pounds with the tracker. I just need the kick in the pants motivation to keep going. :)

Weighing in for the week! I'm pretty excited about this, especially when I weighed myself this morning and saw that I still haven't broken my plateau. Seven pounds by Labor Day would be fantastic, but at this point I'd be fine with just dipping into the 140's!Starting Weight: July 9th: 153.6

Hey guys, I posted my weight this morning but had to come back. This challenge is helping already! At lunch I made healthier choices because I only want to report good #'s. Yay! any way It's freaking hot. Temp is at 39 degrees right now(wow thats 102.2F for any one not from Canada) I gotta go jump in a lake. Cool off and exercise at the same time
So it's my first time posting or joining anything but i really love the idea of this. To start off I am 19, 5'5 and starting this challenge at 153. When I started my journey 3 months ago I was about 175 and I am hoping that this challenge will help and motivate me to reach my summer goal. My hope is to be around 145 by the time i move back to school (which is conveniently around the time this ends.) Even if I don't fully reach my goal I hope to enter 140's for the first time in about 4 years. Good luck to everyone else!

I'm in too!
about me:
my name's Specca. I'm 5'2", weigh 112lbs and my GW is 105lbs.
Although i don't really care about the weight, i just want to look a little more toned/a little less soft, but still maintain my nice curves. Furthermore, i really just want to start feeling a lot healthier (i suffer from allergies, sinus problems, water retention and lethargy)
My method?
1) only eat til 70-80% full
2) supplement my diet with superfoods! (specifically: spirulina, chlorella and berry greens)
3) try to eat mostly raw food
4) do exercise that doesn't piss me off and make me hungry (instead of my typical grueling tabata and HIIT training, i'm goning to do a lot more yoga to just help me achieve better balance, core strength, flexibility, and deal with stress)
wish me luck and good luck to all of you ![]()

Lawrence, thanks for that link, I watched the all 6 parts last night and loved it! Not only are the tips practical, the video actually proves the theories scientifically. Even my DH (who's 5'9" and weighs less than150 lbs -- if anything needs to gain weight) found it interesting.
Hey everyone! Sorry I am a little late with posting my weight! I have been doing alot of nothing today just relaxing some before I start my long stretch of working!! Like I said in my last post I started at 186 back in like Feb/March and had been stuck at 173 for the last month or so until this past weekend when I ate and drank to much plus Aunt Flow is scheduled to visit any day! So unfortunately my numbers aren't very good!!! Hopefully next week after Aunt Flow leaves I will atleast be back to my 173!!

The side effects of allergy medications keep some people from using them. Natural remedies can be a great alternative, but some are more effective than others.
