highest I've ever been :(

I woke up and weighed myself not expecting to see anything above 155, and there it was 157 staring me in the face. I know I had to of looked terrified. I've been exercising on my elliptical for 30 minutes like 5-6 days a week, I know I need to eat healthier though. I'm 16 and my family eats a lot of junk, I'm surrounded by junk all the time, of course we have healthier stuff, like apples, bananas, almonds, oats, carrots, celery, lettuce, etc... it just makes it a lot harder to choose an apple over a slice of pizza, you know what I mean? anywho, I'm completely determined to lose these few pounds and not let anything get in my way, including myself :P. any advice would be appreciated, maybe some weight loss buds as well.

I would say, don't freak out about 2 lbs. It sounds like you are at or near a pretty healthy weight depending on your height and muscle mass, so you can't be too far from your goal :) I mean it. Some people start at 200, 300, 400 lbs. So you are sooo much closer, keep that in mind!

I totally know how that feels to be more than you expected and how your heart sinks even though it feels like you've been putting in a lot of energy/work. You might want to vary up your workouts, maybe add in some strength training (if you don't have weights, do sit ups, push ups, etc using your own body weight for resistance). I am sure a 16 year old can be ripped and still weight 157 lbs, with lots of lean muscle and definition! Plus, when you build your muscles, they will burn more fat at rest. Body composition matters.

I know exactly what you mean I am 16 and 164 lbs I have gained weight very very slowly and am now trying to lose it I am 5 7.5 but I think I've grown. I'm curious what are your stats we could help keep each other accountable :)

I'm 5'11", I think 135-140 would be a good weight... idk I hate to say if I'm not xxx number of pounds I'm not healthy that's just ridiculous, If I eat healthy, exercise, and feel good, I'm healthy :P. I have some 5 and 10 pound dumbbells I'll start using those today :).

Thanks a lot!!

I'm 5'11". last year I was 142 lbs and like an inch shorter, I'd like to get back around 140. that's a good idea, we can help each other. :D
