120 lbs. lost. Barely able to walk a lap - to a solid 3 mile run in 30 mins. All in one year.

My motivation was that I wanted to get a job in Alaska because it's awesome there. I didn't get the job. They barely considered me at all.

Now I'm just tired.

Yeah now you're also much healthier and have significantly bettered your standard of living and life expectancy.

There will be other jobs in Alaska.  It is a big state.  Apply for other jobs and make that your motivation.  Meanwhile, rock that running and your new bod!

There will be other jobs! Instead of feeling low, bask in your accomplishment - it is awesome. You deserve a big pat on the back :-)

...did I read that right???

ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY POUNDS?

crikey moses.  awesome awesome awesome work!  Yes, it sucks you didn't get *that* job....but I'm betting there's a better one around the corner and that's why you didn't get this one....big kudos for how far you've come.  WOW.

you have accomplished something so BIG and your happiness depends on a single job?

forgive the repetition, but there will be other jobs in alaska, while i'm sure not many successful people as yourself! be happy, proud and search for your next favourite job. what you have achieved shows integrity and planning capabilities and strong self esteem, please don't waste it. you're amazing.

i'd hire you, had i run a company in alaska :-)

Wow that is still amazing!! I would love to run even a mile again so don't look at it negatively. Your health must be much improved from a year ago and your body, I'm sure, is thanking you either way. Keep up the great work!!

That is incredible! Don't be so hard on yourself. Do you realize how much you achieved? You made yourself really healthy and you set a goal that you really wanted and worked hard to get it. Just because you didn't get it, doesn't mean you should be down.

I know it's hard to not get something you worked toward. But life is all about ups and downs, remember that. I know it's corny but this means there will be other opportunities for you. You still achieved something really great, and you just have to keep trying to get what you want, no matter how hard it is and how often you don't succeed. Failure makes us all stronger. You only are the person you are right at this moment because of the struggles in your past that made all the joys even more special.

I'm really sorry things got tough, but please stay positive and strong! I'd still treat this as a huge success, rather than as something to bring you down. We all have to face struggles and suffering, but it's how we meet our failures or struggles that makes us brave or who we are. You did an amazing job. I'd find a way to make the best of the situation and reward yourself. You deserve it! :)
