Last ten-fifteen pounds weight loss partner :)
Hello! I'm a 24 years old full-time student, part-time worker, full-time wife (thus, full-time cook....and full-time tempted by hubby's fast food), who has lost about 50 pounds in the last two years.... I might have lost some weight, but I've sadly been stuck with these dreadful never-going-away last 10-15 pounds...for over six months now.
I'm in desperate need for some motivation, and looking for a weight loss partner (or more than one weight loss partners!
all are welcome). Please, pretty please? ![]()
Girl I am looking to loose ten pounds . I'd love to be a motivation partner cause heaven knows I need one too!!
Hello cheryloo19 :)) Welcome aboard!
Happy to know I won't be alone on that journey, which ironically might just be as hard as the first let's-lose-50-pounds one... awww, 10 pounds...
Hello...I am a 29 yr old who works full time and is a full time wife as well. I try my best to get my workouts in every week but I don't always eat very healthy. I would like to lose atleast 15 pounds ....but 20 would be even better. I will start to lose it and then I will stop and gain it right back so I really need some motiviation as well. So maybe by motivating each other we can all get these extra pounds off.
Hello...I am a 21 year old full time student and have been stuck. I am currently working on my last 10 pounds (again...) I would love to join you.
Hey, I'm 25, a bride to be, looking to shed about 15lbs before the onimous dress fitting, I'd love some extra motivation from others!
This is just a suggestion you guys let me know what you think...I did the weight watchers thing a few years ago and it did work I think mainly because I knew every week I had to weight in. So what do you guys think about a weekly weight in? We could pick one day of the week and everyone can post their weight and how much they lost of if you choose you can just post how much you lost. I know sometimes we will have bad weeks and may not lose any but I think by coming on here and seeing the ones that have lost a few pounds might help get you motivated. Let me know if anyone is interested in doing that and which day you would prefer, we could start tomorrow (Friday) with our start weight and how much you would like to lose by next Friday. Hope you all have a great day!!
Sounds good to me :)
I will go ahead and start then. This morning I was at 166.4 and my goal is to get to 150 so I need to lose a total of 16 lbs. My goal for this week is to lose 3 pounds, so I will let you know next Friday Feb 26th how much I have lost this week.
Also I forget to say congratulations on getting married gonna-b-wed!!
Cheers!
I'll get on the scales first thing tomorrow and see how they're doing! I'm dreading the fact that I've got 3 wedding fayres lined up this week so will probably spend the weekend shoving pieces of cake in my gob and abusing the chocolate fountains! hehe!
Hello Everyone!!!
I have been looking at a number of forums with support groups tracking those last few pounds, but I always seem to find them too late!!! I would love to join the little group...and I completely agree about weekly weigh-ins!! I think it will help keep people accountable and will help with keeping each of us motivated!!
I'm 23 years old and I work full time and I'm also a soon to be bride!! I have actually been trying to get these last 10-15 pounds off for quite some time...but the wedding has just been a kick in the behind for me!! My fiance and I eat pretty healthy and lead pretty active lives...my only big problem is I sit at a desk for 8 1/2 hours a day. All throughout college I worked as a server and stayed extremely busy...plus always had roommates to go to the gym with me!! Since graduating and getting my "big girl job" my life has gotten quite a bit sedentary compared to how it used to be.
I just finished the Slimin6 workout by beachbody...and I feel great and am in much better shape!! I just didn't really lose too much weight...but I did lose some inches!! My fiance and I just started the P90X workout...today is just Day2. My shoulders are pretty sore from the workout but looking forward to Plyometrics tonight!
qanir - congrats on the weight loss so far!!!! and thanks again for starting this up!!!
jodychava - what are you studying in school?? I actually just signed up to take my GRE's to go back and get my master's.
gonna_b_wed - those bridal shows can be a killer for the diet!! that's for sure!! haha so whens the big day??? My fiance and I are getting married in June...I can't believe how fast it is coming up!! Have you found your dress yet??
So I know this is a day early...but I figured I'd put my start weight on here anyway. This morning I was 128.0. I had wanted to try to be about 115. My goal is to lose about 1.5 lbs this week.
Congrats to both brides-to-be!!!!
Sekruzel, it is NEVER too late to join, and it certainly is not for this group! :) welcome aboard...!
Might sound like an odd question but....what are the Slimin6 and P90X workouts????
And for the records... :) This morning I was 145.6 lbs, and aiming toward a neat 130 lbs, which I ALMOST reached, but then lost out of sight when I started indulging in fiancé's pizzas (to clarify the point, he's my fiancé, but we've been living together for quite some time now, and have had the ring on my finger for two years, so I sort of call him hubby half the time...lol...gotta finish this *@!*"& ph.d.... ._.)
So, following tammy's idea, why not make Friday our weight in day? (since not all of us might not have weighted ourselves Wednesday(yesterday), or Thursday (today)).
welcome in! :)
I would like to join you all. I need to lose 25lbs. I'll weigh in tomorrow. Sure need motivation. Thing is I have a Hypothyroid problem and every time the levels get messed up I tend to gain weight which sort of is discouraging when I'm trying hard to lose it. My energy levels aren't great either but I try to keep as active as I can possibly keep myself. Just today I was trying to warm up by going up and down the stairs a few times but it seemed that all the muscles were totally jammed. So I'm going to tie in the exercise gradually increasing it. today I really felt upset at myself. I'm trying to keep myself positive.
I need you guys to help me with this - I really need the motivation. Motivation is quite low at this time. I'm following the the 400 Calorie fix by Prevention Magazine's editor in chief. She has appeared on the Doctors show quite a few times. Along with this she has also authored the Flat Belly Diet. which I'm also looking into. Both are pretty much the same.
Try their sassy water for 4 days. You basically put the following ingredients in 8.5 glasses of water and refrigerate and the next day you drink throughout the day. prepare the water in a pitcher the night before. They say you can lose upto 7 lbs. within those 4 days. This may help in maintaining the weight, once its all lost.
sassy water ingredients are
- 12 mint leaves
- 1 tsp grated ginger
- 1 medium lemon thinly sliced
- 1 medium cucumber peeled and sliced
P.S. Psyllium Husk (metamucil) is another thing you guys can try - it helps in losing and maintaining weight. Hope this helps.
Btw, have you guys heard of the Skechers Shape-ups shoes. Does anyone own a pair. I'm gonna ask my hubby for it for my bday which is 2 weeks away. They claim to help you lose weight.
Righteo, I hopped on the scales this morning and weighed in at a solid 149 :)
sekruzel - congrats! and I'm both very excited about and beginning to dread these shows this weekend!! I guess I'mm just have to hold tight and see how it goes! eek! We're planning for 20th August 2011 so still have quite a while to go and haven't really found anything other then the venue!
x
I am off to a good start today. I had a healthy breakfast and I am going to take a step class this afternoon. It is hard to diet and workout sometimes but it will be so worth it this summer when I can look good in my shorts and tanktops. Hope everyone has a great weekend!!!
I completely caned the gym yesterday and after a tuna baguette for lunhc I'm pretty sure I'll be doing the same again today - I'm just hoping I don't ache all weekend!
But I guess at least I'm aching for a good reason!
Great start this morning!! Had a healthy breakfast and some decaf peppermint herbal tea with honey to warm me up this morning!!!
qanir - Slim in 6 and P90X are workout made by beachbody. Slim in 6 is more geared for women and focuses on toning a lot of the typical problem areas (love handles, lower back, inner and outer things, lower abs, and arms...as well as a total body workout) It's a really great way for people to start into a workout routine and really anyone can do it!! This workout is a six week program. P90X is quite a bit more intense and it targets pretty much every muscle in your body!! Each day of the week is a different workout for a different area of the body. Most of the workouts are 60 minutes with the exception of yoga which is 90 minutes. Tony Horton believes in muscle confusion so you don't plateau. It's only been two days but I already feel as if I'm noticing a difference!! I'll let you know how it continues to go!
sdlambert - Welcome to the group!
farhsayed - Welcome to the group as well!! as for the sassy water diet...are you only drinking that water for those four days?? or are you consuming other nutrients as well as drinking the sassy water?? I have never used the Sketcher Shape-ups but I have used the fit flops. I wouldn't say that they should substitute a workout but they definitely have helped in toning my thighs and butt. I mean, if you're going to be walking anyway, I guess using something that'll help tone up at the same time is always a plus! When my fiance and I were in the Bahamas I wore them during the day while walking around and definitely noticed them working my thighs out a little more than just normal walking would have. Plus they are way better for your back than regular flip flops.
gonna_b_wed - 20th August 2011 sounds perfect!! and even though it may seem far off now, it really comes up fast!! My fiance and I have been engaged since Christmas 2008 and are getting married June 2010!! I can't believe how fast it has all come up!
Everyone keeps telling me that it's going to come around really quickly! Eek, and there's so much to do! We're saving like mad to make sure we can afford everything we want. It's scary though planning for something that's 18 months away!
