11 lbs in one month!?!?!

Quote  |  Reply
Today is my one month calorie-count.com anniversery and I lost 11 lbs in my first month! I'm excited but also alittle nervous. It's almost like I want to celebrate but I have so many things going through my mind. 11 lbs in one month is pretty fast, right? Is it comming off to fast, will it stop or slow down? Was it all just water weight like people talk about? Errgg... why can't I just be happy for myself and celebrate?

I lost 14 pounds my first month--it is water weight.  :)
WOW congrats! Don't worry about it.. .if you are doing things right just enjoy your achievment! Regardless if its water weight, you're doing something for yourself and its working!! enjoy !
Be happy for yourself...whether it's water weight or not!  I lost quite a bit my first month, also.  It wasn't, however, all water weight.  My pants were fitting quite differently.  Remember that the scale isn't your only measure!!!!  :)

I have to take 3 water pills a day so I know that the 14 lbs I lost in 2 weeks couldn't be just water weight.  I have so much weight to lose that is just a drop in the bucket but it made me feel better.

Beizy-I disagree with you.  I lost 18 lbs my first 5 weeks and it is anything but water weight.  The scale does not fluctuate and right now I have plateuaed, but happy to say this morning it appears that I am going back down.

Celebrate the 11 lbs!!!  That is AWESOME!!!!  Keep doing what you're doing!!
My one month anniversary is on Saturday and I've already lost 15 lbs.  It always comes off quickly at first, and it may continue at this pace or it may level off a bit.  It all depends on how drastically you cut calories or how much activity you've added.  If you went from being very sedentary to working out 5 times a week, it will definitely come off faster.  The same if you went from eating 2,500 calories (or more) a day to 1200-1500 a day.
Grats! when you first start the first few lbs can come off real fast.  Don't worry!  Unfortunatly tho it does slow down, but this is a good thing cuz you want to stay healthy while you lose weight!  2lbs/week can be pretty average. If you can keep that up you're one of the lucky ones!  Then it gets even harder when you're just a few lbs from your goal.  Uhg!  those are the worst!

Grats on an awesome start!
I lost a lot each month at the start - anywhere from 7 - 9 pounds a month.  It did taper off eventually, but I also gained a lot of muscle.  I found it was helpful to keep track of measurements and BF% as well as pounds.

Congrats on your loss so far!!
Celebrate your 11 pounds! I'm still more than a week away from my 1 month anniversary and I've already lost 10 pounds. The scale fluctuates 5 pounds as I eat and exercise during the day (I weigh in 10-15 times a day), but I maintain that 10 pounds lost. I've consulted with my doctor, so I know it's not unhealthy.

Keep up the good work!
Congrats on the loss.... but more import is that you were able to discipline yourself for 30 days, and if you can do it of thirty day, you can do it for 60  and so on....  Before you know it, it won't be work to live riight, it will be a way of life, and that my friend is what will really give you satisfaction..... Keep it up
Congratulations!!!! I want to be in your shoes! Unfortunatel I am a self-sabotogure!!! I always do well the first 2 weeks and then I sabotage myself! But not this time. In one month I will let you know how i did ;)
Congrats! It's great when we succeed! The first month I lost about 11 pounds or so too. I've been dieting for 6 weeks and I've lost 17 pounds so far. I don't think it is all water, because the scales are pretty consistant. So celebrate you achievement, with a goal that does NOT involve food, and get ready for a healthier happier life!

When I reach 30 pounds lost, I am going to buy this book I've wanted for almost two years. It's about $50, or roughly what I would have paid for fast food in the period I've been dieting. I hope to have that book before summer... Wish me luck!
I lost 15lbs my first two weeks. It's usually water weight you've been carrying around that runs at the first sight of increased water intake, as well as a goodly amount of fat. It almost always evens out to a 1-2lbs/week weight loss after the initial drop. :)
I lost 12 pounds in my 1st month. Congratulations! Keep up the good work. As long as you're doing what's right, you'll be fine.
Lost 14lbs the first 4 weeks. And I'm not willing to say it was just water weight AT ALL.

How do you FEEL about all of this? Cause I feel like I did amazingly well, only had sweets on 2 occasions (in a small quantity), have started eating SO well, incorporating fruits and veggies in my diet which were non existant before, and EXERCICE. I feel great!
congratulations! it seems everyone here is giving pretty good advice so i won't belabor anything. but good job! :)
Congratulations!!

lol, I've only lost 6 lbs so far, but my clothes are fitting differently, so I know it's not just water. I've stopped feeling depressed about the scale, because I know now that it doesn't tell the whole story.
celebrate! dont belive when people say its water weight.. if it seems to stay the same all the time then its not water weight! people kept telling me the same thing about my 10+ loss in a month as well and yeah at first i was like oh no what if it comes back.. well its been a few weeks since and it has not came back so congrats! *grin*
