[Closed]10-15lbs for Spring, Starting Feb 1st to Apr 1st [Motivation Group/Challenge]

Quote  |  Reply

I have never made one of these groups before hope I am doing it right :) FYI, I am very addicted to cc currently and have no life atm (unemployed social phob), so I can monitor/keep up with the group activity, replies, support/motivation :D

So Spring is coming (March 20/21) and I happen to be 11lbs to my first goal weight on cc and 10-15lbs is a decent amount in 2 months I figure. If successful or wanted a follow up challenge for Summer (mention if you'd be interested in that one too).

edit: preview of summer challenge, April 1st - July 1st 10-25lbs. (How does that sound?)

Guidelines:

-Beginners post (post anytime: before/during the start of the challenge (group will be closed to new people on the 2nd or 3rd of Feb)), 'start weight for the challenge/group', 'goal weight for the end of March/beginning of April'.

-'Weigh in weekly' and update with any 'additional information' as you like (daily/weekly whenever)

-End post (optional), 're cap stats' and end with any additional information as you like.

Good luck and have fun :D

If you are new and/or need a bit of a calorie/weight loss run down here is a quick guideline post.

Update:

Ok is it (pretty much) the first :) I was wondering would we be interest moving this to a group or keep it here? I made one (I was going to anyways) and realized if needed/wanted this challenge can take place there.

Hi there,

Jamma- *sorry I didn't quote you, but this is a reply to your post...  I'll get the hang of these forums eventually :)

Thanks for joining us.  I just saw your note about meal plans- i don't have a set one per say.  I don't know if you've got the time to cook, but I've been trying out a bunch of new recipes, they're all A's or B's according to CC, but they've been delicious, and I always make enough for multiple servings that way I have leftovers and don't have to cook every night... If you want to try them out.  Or if you have any recipes you use that you'd like to share :) Let me know.

All the best,

Jessie

I'd love to join in. First time doing this. I hope I do it right.

Hi this sounds like a fun and positive group! I have been serious for about 2 weeks now, after about 5 years of being unhappy with my body. Right now I am working out one hour 4 times a week, and doing the South Beach Diet (which I am loving). So lots of veggies and whole foods. The great thing to me is: I am starting to like what I am seeing in the mirror. And I feel like I am becoming myself again-that my outside is starting to match my inside. What a great feeling!

Current weight: 160 Goal weight: 140

And I am up for a summer group too.

I weigh on Monday mornings to help me stay focused on the weekend.

That is a great feeling! I am almost at that point, but still don't see enough :P But I swear it is cause some days I wear unflattering clothes that I am starting to fit in to again but it isn't what I looked like when I got them : /

This is just what I need. I was training for a marathon but got injured two weeks ago and now can't run or do weight bearing exercise for six weeks. Current weight: 176. Goal weight: 160.
Hollowness- thanks for the welcome! As for how you are feeling- like you are not ready to be happy yet- you remind me of myself. What I have discovered is that a perspective shift is great. I don't know about you, but I do best when I think I am doing great. Try looking at where you are coming from, and how you can see yourself emerging. Comparing yourself now to where you want to be/ used to be is can be a discouraging feeling.

I am still learning how to love my body (as it is NOW), and also to thank my body. Sounds hokey, but it works! I don't even really have to believe what I am saying, I just thank my body every day while looking in the mirror (if possible).
Hi guys. I'm happy to see such an active group. I'm in! I'll weigh in on Monday and friday.

Sw: 131.5 Cw: 129 Gw: 118

Maybe you should close the group so we can keep track of who is going to commit to stick around! Also so hard to keep track of everybody!!
I'm Lindsay!

CW: 142

GW: (For this challenge) 134

Hi everyone! I'm new to CC so this is my first post :)

I've been using the tools on the site & counting cals for a few months, but find it hard to stick with it on my own, so I'm excited to do this challenge with you all.

I'm also super nervous that I won't be able to stick to my 1470/day without binging:( but determined to overcome this! Will post my stats weekly:

Jan 29, 2012 CW: 139

April 1, 2012 GW: 130

Happy counting everyone, and thanks Hallowness!

Yes, I agree, I try to think I am doing  great and try not comparing to when I was my lowest. I too am trying really hard to learn and understand my body so I don't have set backs in self esteem :) and try learn to re-love myself overall.

I'll close after the 1st (either 2nd-3rd) and note that the 'next challenge' will be posted and will be 'open to all' about a week before April 1st (and closed up about the 2nd-3rd). Hope that works good for everyone :)

no problem and good luck :D

Weight in!

SW 138

CW 128 (1lb lost this week!)

Hurrah!!  I'm finding that have one portion of purb carbs a day (eg sweet potato, mixed beans) at lunch, and sticking to mainly meat and veggies at dinner time is helping.
