This challenge officially begins on Sunday 1st May and ends on Friday 1st July.

RULES: This challenge is now FULL.  No new Challengers.

POST YOUR WEIGH IN: in this thread every Sunday or Monday. Create a new post each week stating your current weight (include previous weeks weigh-ins if you wish) and commenting upon your progress and what you have / have not been doing to achieve those results.

Weigh-in Note: Everyone has two days to post their weigh-in. If you have not posted your weight by midnight on Monday night, you have missed the weigh-in. Miss three weigh-in days and you are excluded from the challenge (one exception to this; if you notify me beforehand that you will be unable to post your weight due to vacation or unusual circumstances)

FINAL WEIGH IN: On (or before) 6pm (PST) Friday 1st July, no exceptions!!!  This is the only week I will be accepting weigh-ins on a day other than Sunday or Monday.

MOTIVATION: I ask that you keep your posts positive. This challenge is about motivating each of us to succeed in reaching our individual goals. Thank you for all the birthday wishes and logging advice.

@cdenali- I talked to my doctor about getting a sleep study last week. I can sleep anywhere between 5 to 12 hours and still be tired when I wake up. My iron and B12 levels are good but I do snore. Planning on scheduling that later in the summer. Stress levels are also up but due to work, not sure how to handle that.

I am up three pounds this week and I am sure not to meet this goal. The three pouns is not a true gain but I have neither gained or lost this time around.

I spoke to two neighbors this week who lost between 40-60 lbs over the past year. I asked how they did it and basically their answer was that they gave nothing up.

The one woman said she lost 60 lbs by only eating healthy. She said that she make sure she as a salad everyday (it would be the best way for me to get fruit and veggies in)

The other woman (55 years old) said she gave up nothing , she just started eating half of her normal portion. If she normally ate a whole sandwch she ate half , if she normally would eat all the fries she ate half . The only reason I mentioned her age is because I was starting to use the excuse that I was over 50 and will not be able to lose the weight. I was wrong.

So starting today I am following your logging advice, eating healthy (I have a big romaine lettuce salad in the refrigerator , picked from my garden except tomatoes haven't come in) and eating half. Wish me luck.

Kind of took last week off from logging food, weigh ins, etc. Better than last week but I'm not feeling great about it overall. Walked both days yesterday - which was easy because they were beautiful days here. Recommitting myself to get back on track.

So I wasn't going to even weigh in because I thought there is no way that I didn't gain.  I have been a bit afraid to even step on the scale recently, but this morning I did anyways, and to my surprise I am down.  YEAHHHH!!!

May 9, 2011 weight: 174.5 Well, considering I had family staying with me all weekend for a volleyball tournament and then my daughter & her long time boyfriend took me out for a Mother's Day brunch buffet the gain could have been so much worse. The sodium bloat was extremely uncomfortable. Even though I drank copious amounts of water in the afternoon & evening I'm still bloated. Hopefully that will dissipate today.

Upset with myself as I was down during the week last week ... then I really blew it.  Lots of salt this weekend so maybe I can get down again and keep it there for a while.  Grrrr. 

Okay.  Moving on.  Back to the gym today and drinking lots of water.  Gotta finish this challenge strong even though I'm no where near my goal.

 

143 lbs today. I'm not thrilled but at least I'm building up the strength to check each week again. I get back to school this wednesday so then I can start working out harder as well. I've been eating ok, but not great and I will be improving that this week as well. Today I've been good so far so that is a start.
