My mom took me shopping for a new wardrobe today!

Okay, I'm still 50 pounds from my first goal that I will be happy with and then I'll just be normal as far as eating, stop calorie counting (obviously eat within reason!) and just lose the weight more naturally, not so forced, you know?  But we got clothes that are going to fit even 50 pounds from now.  They may be a bit big, but I can take everything in with the dry cleaners if I need to!

Anywho, we hit up Nordstrom and I found a LOT of stuff in their regular women's section!  I do admit the pants are from the plus size section and an 18, but all the pants ran super small there.. and lots of really cute t-shirts that are larges and X-larges!

I was surprised that Chico's clothes were so darn cute.  I'm only 19 and my grandma shops there so I was hesitant, but I got a lot of professional type clothes.. super cute stuff and dressier than normal.  If it into their size 3.

Old Navy REALLY surprised me.  I got a lot of very stylish stuff for less than $100!

And we stopped at JC Penny's and got some really cute shirts and some new underwear.

I feel like a million bucks.  Honestly.  It's incredible how when I go from wearing ratty clothes that are torn and don't fit anymore (too big) to clothes that are stylish, conservative, and adorable and FIT me (even though it's a bit tight.. I mean why would I want loose pants if I need to lose 50 more pounds??), that my self esteem goes to where it should have always been.

I am SO motivated and today was incredible.  This is my reward for going from morbidly obese to just obese.  I'm not at my goal weight yet, but my god, I've never been so motivated.

Congrats Kate!!!! I'm very happy for you!!!! You've worked hard, and I'm glad you got a treat today :) Keep up the good work!!!

Thanks!  I will!  I am SO happy!  I even treated myself since I was literally shopping for like 5 hours literally and trying on clothes and sweating like no other lol, and ate at maintenance today.. but today will still be a weight loss day since I exercised so much!  I am so happy.  The future is looking so much brighter every day!

CONGRATULATIONS Smile i know you said you have some more to go, but from just getting from morbidly obese to obese is a huge achievement, you should feel suitably proud.

also- it seems you are learning to reward yourself with something other than food which is great. (i'm still working on that!)

now, i wonder if i can get my nan to take me shopping Wink

best of luck with the rest of your journey beautiful lady X

Wow that is awesome, you must have a super supportive, wonderful mom!  I definitely think seeing yourself in these new, smaller clothes will provide you w/ even more motivation!  Keep on truckin, you will hit that goal!

first congratulations and keep up the good work!! it feels good when you go out and buy something that a while back did not fit you plus now you can shop at other stores that normally you would not go to because they didn't have you size!! which reminds me i my self hafta get some new shorts the one i have keep on sliding down to the point that whoa!! get back up here!!

Thanks everyone!  Yeah, my mom is amazing.  She's a fitness instructor (she does it for free, she refused to get paid, she loves it SO much!) and she's into eating very healthily (She's not insane though, we went to PF chang's and had a very nice lunch yesterday..) and she knows how to treat herself to great foods and healthier treats.  She's just a really good influence and that's part of the reason I was so darn motivated from yesterday!  I feel so great about this diet and I'm really pulling myself out of the slump I was in for such a long time.  The new clothes honestly make me look 20 pounds lighter than I did wearing the sweats and t-shirts that were the only things left that fit me!

Ahhh...Successful weight loss, finding nice outfits, mom treating and good bargains.....It doesn't get much better than that!
