1 Month Challenge!!! Whos down!?
Ok so Ive decided that i wanna do a one month challenge! Starting today!... up untill May 11th! My motivation has been slackin latley and i gotta get with the program! Summers areound the corner and Im no where near happy. I currently weigh 153 and id like to lose at least 6 pounds by May 11th! I have off school for spring break the next 2 weeks and im gonna be livinggg at the gym! Everyone is welcome to join me on this challenge! theres no pressure for a certain amount of weight! make your own goal weight for may 11th!

Q: What is your ultimate motivater for losing weight?
Ive been going out with my boyfriend for 4 summers now and every year I say "This summer Im gonna be at my goal and be thin." I never do it. I just refuse to let that happen again! What really keeps me motivated is thinking about our anniversary on June 25th. We said that we want to spend the whole afternoon at the beach. I want nothing more then a nice picture of me and him on that day! (Me in a hot bikini of course) lol i gotta make it happen!

**137.0(Goal weight I am shooting for, for my next weigh-in)
I know my goal for next week looks crazy, but all this week I've been running and eating good, and my scale went up, so I'm really hoping it will come to it's mind by Monday. ;-) I'm actually least concerned even if it doesn't as I can see I'm melting inches, especially on my hips. I ran 24 miles this week, which I have never done before. Usually, my weekly mileage is anywhere between 3 to 6 miles. I did 3 strength sessions last week which is also better than 1 I was doing. Yesterday, evening went for a 8 mile run on top of strength workout and every part in my body is sore.
Q:What holds you back on your weight loss. What can you try and do to change it?
Will power is can by hard for me, either with eating or working out. I just get to where I don't care and eat what ever or just don't workout. It has gotten better these last couple weeks but still, it can be hard!!
Everyone's doing awesome! We're so close and it looks like everyone's goal is attainable!
No weigh in for me AGAIN. Discovered my grandmother I'm staying with has a scale in her closet. Jumped on it quickly but it was on carpet and I was fully clothed. I'm about 98% sure it's not accurate. Not to mention the fact that I'm getting different numbers on different scales constantly! It'll have to wait until Monday, I guess.

Yup, alcohol for me too. I haven't been drinking lately, it's either a bunch of whiskey & cokes, which I don't even want to know the calories of, or beer. But lately I've just not been drinking at all sooo I guess I'm good for now! lol.

Had a bit of a slip up over Easter weekend but back on track now!
Q: What holds you back on your weight loss. What can you try and do to change it?
My history of disordered eating sometimes makes it a struggle for me. If I have a slow week on the scale, despite eating really well and exercising, I sometimes get thoughts of "**** it, I should just binge and purge" My boyfriend has been really supportive of this and it helps a lot to talk it through and although I had troubles over Easter weekend I feel good about all of this again :)
Q: What holds you back on your weight loss. What can you try and do to change it?
My mood disorder, especially the depression that hits me really holds me back. When I start slipping downhill weightloss is the last thing on my mind. I am usually trying to care enough to go to class/make it through school and that's about all I will have the energy for. I try to remind myself that I'll care when I come out of it, but its hard to remember. This week has been hard. I've known I was getting worse recently and the lack of effort I've been putting in shows it. The problem is then I feel bad about my body and it fuels my depression and I sink lower. I'm on meds but school is so stressful I'm only stable half the time. I'm hoping after I'm finally done in September I will be able to have a better routine and get a better grasp on this so I can live the healthy life I want.
hello all =] i hope your having a great weekend! im very excited for tomorrows weigh in! im just worried that my period is gonna mess it up =\ i went on a 2 hour bike ride yesterday! it felt so amazing. im also hittin the gym today! wheeee! cant wait to see how everyones doing tomorrow!
honnete: i feel the same way as you sometime. i have a bad eating disorder past as well. i used to be bulimic, anorexic, and then i because a bad binge eater. that was over 4 years ago and it still effects me till this day. ive never acted on anything since then but sometimes i think about it. like if i ate something bad id starve the rest of the day. every day is a challenge and im still getting over it. im a very healthy person now and i eat about 1400 calories a day. you just have to take it one day at a time. my advice is to kind of stay away from the scale. weigh in on weigh in days but dont do it anymore then that. it will drive you nuts. cause when u have an eating disorder you get super quick results. i used to step on the scale 4times a day.we just really have to get it in our heads that 1-2 pounds a week is normal. not 5 pounds a week. small goals & patience is key! =]
Q: What will change when you reach your May 11th weight loss goal?
A: My pants will fit better!!!! =] haha but really i think think that i will feel so accomplished cause i never really achieve my goals when it comes to anything. i usually give up but i know im going to do this. i know that once i finish this challege i will just be more positve and want to keep on going. possibly make another weight loss challenge for next month =]

I weighed in before breakfast today, which is not my usual so it might be a little on the low side of "reality." Loved seeing the lower number though! I did do reasonably well on the weekend, and I want to do even better this week. I don't think I'll drop 5 lbs in 10 days by any means, but maybe 132 by then? Haven't seen that number for a while!
Hope everyone else is doing well! Jackiezem, I think you bring up a good point that we have to take care of our WHOLE selves, not just focus exclusively on weight loss, although a healthy body image can help with other parts of our overall wellbeing.
What will change when you reach your May 11th weight loss goal?
I hope to be inspired to keep it up for another month! It's nice to have challenges broken up into more manageable chunks :)

OUCH. I don't think that's my actual weight. I think that's a combination of weighing after a meal and a LOT of water retention/bloating from holidays. I'm not too concerned. Not to mention the fact that I drank about a litre of water in an hour because...
...I survived day one of boot camp!!! Whooo! Nine weeks to go! I honestly thought I was going to die, though. I wasn't really tired or out of breath, though. Just nauseous. But I guess that's what I get for eating onion rings for lunch. Oops. Skipping rope was a lot easier when I was seven, I'll tell you that much.
I'm not worried! I'll get it back! I don't FEEL heavier. I was quite shocked to see 170 on the scale so I really think only a pound or two of it is actually fat. Or maybe I'm gaining muscle for the first time in like six years? Regardless, I am NOT giving up and I am going to get at LEAST 159 by the 11th! >:O <-----Determined face. It's the same as rage face.
What will change when you reach your May 11th weight loss goal?
I will never EVER be over 160 pounds again. EVER. Except for when I'm seventy (I've decided to become obese when I get old). AND, I will not nearly pass out after half an hour of intense exercise. AND I will hopefully have a 30" waist. AND I will clean my bathroom/bedroom by then. Maybe. We'll see. :P

That must be so infuriating! ALMOST being in the 140's! Hopefully you'll have a really nice surprise, though, when hell has ended. :D

I did VERY bad yesterday! I went out to eat and instead of really ordering anything I just eat the chips and that did not make a great dinner. And I did not work out yesterday. I have got to get my butt in gear! I plan on going running this afternoon if my kids will cooperate!

I am soooooooooooo unhappy. Tried to eat well yesterday. Tried REALLY hard. The scale still said 169.5 this morning. So it must be actual fat. I don't know how I could have gained so much weight in just ten days. I'm so upset about this. There's no way I'm going to reach my goal. :/
I'm thinking of starting a new challenge thread if anyone's interested (Not to replace this one, of course, just to carry on into next month!)
