Motivation: Motivated to Find a Friend/Lover

Quote  |  Reply

Okay...I've offered to help a couple single buddies of mine, and I'd like to hear from any single ladies that might be interested (read below):

But essentially, in my group (pretty much the most awesome group on CC), there are two single fellas.  Both decent guys, divorced, fathers, middle-aged, moral individuals (nothing like me).  They are "religious", but I wouldn't say overly so.  Just enough to make them "moral".

Anyways, while we have some great members, mostly ladies (I mean, it is CC); all the ladies are married or in relationships.  So I'm tryin to do my boyz a solid and see if I can't recruit some nice, single ladies to talk to them and be cool, and whatnot.

This isn't really "The Bachelor"...I'm not kicking anybody off the Island once the guy determines he doesn't want to give you a rose.  of matter of fact...there are no roses and the guys probably won't reject you...I think they actually would just really like cool women to talk to more than anything.

And this isn't a "trick".  You aren't "for me"...not a trick to find potential single ladies for the Cat disguised as finding ladies for others.  Trust me, my perferences would be far different than there's.  And this isn't some Nigerian prince that needs you bank account number.  No scams, no surprises.

The only requirements (other than their specifications that they've given me per my request...that will be posted in the next two posts) are that you must be single.  While I'm not particular, they are in that way.

The goal is to find 10 8 women.  I'm not doing any choosing, as long as you feel you meet their requirements, and you're willing, and you pass through Island Security...it's all good and have a good time.  I also can't answer any other questions about them.  Any other curiosities need to be satisfied by talking to them.  I can only divulge what I've been given permission to divulge.  I'll just say they are both okay looking guys I guess. I don't know, I'm not gay or whatnot.  But, there's nothing overly wrong with them.  They aren't homeless or diseased or bed-ridden or hump-backed or anything.  Just a couple average dudes I guess.  But their not eccentric millionaires on yachts that look like George Clooney either.  So don't be scared, but don't be dillusional.

Speaking of Island Security, due to some recent security breaches, the Island Security is fairly strict.  The group is rather private and prefers to remain that way.  You don't have to do anything weird to "get in" like kill somebody to proove your loyalty...but you will have to answer a few questions to ensure you're not someone of low character who will be just using the game to try and spy on people or do other unsavory things.  Unsavory things are wonderful for the lounge/forums where there's hard working moderators.  I'm a much lazier moderator so I prefer to only let in people I don't need to moderate.  It's just easier that way.

So, thanks for looking, and for those who play, thanks for playing.

Bachelor #1

Bachelor #1 would describe his ideal mate/friend/lover as:

  1. Great taste in music.  (I love alternative, indie, classic rock, hip-hop...basically everything...but I like country on a song-by-song basis.)
  2. Has an independent streak.
  3. Likes being active.  I like to exercise, be it working out, biking, hiking, whatever.  Having an exercise partner makes it more enjoyable.
  4. Likes the outdoors.  Camping, canoeing, etc.
  5. Playful.  Not serious 24-7.
  6. Likes all kinds of different styles of cuisine: Italian, Thai, Indian, etc...I'm always interested in trying a new restaurant.
  7. Likes going out and having fun on the weekend, such as seeing live music, shooting pool at a pub, whatever.

Bachelor #2

Bachelor #2 would describe his ideal mate/friend/lover as:

  1. Into health and fitness. - I would love a [non-smoking] goddess. It's OK if you're not, but please be busy making the effort as am I.
  2. Isn't "Ghetto Fabulous". That goes for you white ladies too. I like women who are more conservative in public. Just know how to act right.
  3. Great taste in music. (i.e. likes what I like.). You don't have to be a 70's - 80's metal fanatic like me but you have to at least be able to appreciate it. I can be flexible in whatever other musical/art styles you like. Which kinda leads into...
  4. Willing to experience exotic cultures. If you're from an exotic culture, share it with me. But if it's gonna be a problem with your folks and cause you internal dilemma, forget it! [i.e. Your relatives want you to ONLY be with a Russian guy. Or whatever is in the blank].
  5. Is beyond positive thinking. Can do attitude. If you're a black lady, I don't wanna hear about your philosophy why black people can't do well in a "white" world.
  6. No Super Spiritual Giants. I don't talk, religion 24/7. I try to live it as well as I can but that's no guarantee. Not shooting for sainthood. Don't want a woman who's shooting for it either.
  7. Children are OK. You got kids, fine. I can even offer them guidance if you'd like. But I'm not Santa and my PTA days are OVER. I'm not Superman. So if your baby-daddy is an ice-hole, call the cops. But I will fight in [our] self-defense.
  8. Probably should go under "health and fitness" but.... NO DRUGS!!!!!

So if they lose their religion, does that mean they will become immoral?

Hard to say.  I suppose that's one option.  Or they could develop an alternate code of morality independent of religion.  Hard to say.

I was already kicked off the island- oh well, I still made a friend.  Had never heard why the other one rejected me- woe is me;-)

 What?

That's actually not true.  What "island" are you talking about?

The group is referred to as the "island".  You've never been part of that group.  Nothing personal, it's just you wouldn't make it past security.

If you mean "island" as in you were part of the pool of potential ladies and got rejected, that's not possible as the group of ladies is still being formed.  So far we have 2 willing to meet these gentleman, still hoping to get about 8 more.

But no, I don't think you were ever technically rejected as you were never technically "playing".  I believe one of the Bachelor's did reply to you that he actually would love to chat and stuff with you, but a longer term relationship could never be possible due to your very outspoken and far left of center views on homosexuality.  That's my take, not his actual words...if I'm recalling correctly.

But no, no rejection.  These two guys are great guys, just looking for some single girls to talk to.  Nobody will be excluded based on looks, weight, politics, or even views on homosexuality.  And even if they decide not to instantly marry you, I think they are cool enough guys that they'd still love to talk.  Of matter of fact, I think that Bachelor's comments were actually that he WOULD love to chat with you, because you're interesting.  So, no rejection.  It's just a security thing.  You're simply too close to elements of the Lounge that would try to go through you to attack or spy on the group.  And I can't have that.  We've had too many close calls in the past so I have to error on the side of caution.

Guess I didn't know I was part of the lounge group - I really don't go there often - except on weekends, and yes I am chatting with the one.  I wasn't aware I might be a spy- far out!!

I am now wondering what "elements" I'm too close to in the lounge since basically I only go there on weekends when nothing else to do.

Makes this even more interesting.

I do think the one gentleman is very nice from IM's exchanged so far.  I do enjoy meeting new people and yes I do have some strong political convictions that can be a turn off for a lot of people.

I hope these guys find women that can muster the security better than I!!  It was fun!

If it were 1 month ago, I'd have probably let you in without too much question.  It's just that recently we had some "issues" with people getting in or sticking around just to report back to others what was being said.

I know, sounds juvenile, but I guess people have their reasons.

On second thought, you've made good points.  IF this thing goes forward, I'll PM you and if you're cool with the Island rules (pretty much just keeping things said their private), I think you might make an interesting addition.

Don't get your hopes up though.  Thus far, you make a grand total of "3".  While the response in the Lounge was negative, at least there was a "response" in the lounge.  I figured with 1.5 millions users (the majority women)...finding 8 gals who might want to talk to a couple nice, upstanding, single guys wouldn't be such a massive undertaking.  Oh well...I guess if it was "easy". Match.com and Chemistry.com and eHarmony wouldn't be the money-making machines they are.

Uh Uh and "interesting addition" cool beans!!!

I don't know which other if any forums you've posted this in, but like I said I only lounge on weekends on average but mostly hang in the fitness forum.  I also just recently peek in on the "weight loss" forum because I am finally able to speak from success instead of "do as I say not as I do"

I totally stay out of the health and support or whatever that nightmare of a forum is.  I understand ED but really people how many threads on the when will I get my period back do we need!  That place is scary.  And worse when they are let out and enter the fitness forum without my knowing their history I give them advice that isn't right for them - tricky people!

I only popped in on this thread because it showed up in the "overview" forum discussions.  I don't think I've been over in this forum before.

ETA - although there are "millions" of users here on CC I think a majority "lurk" behind the scenes- especially because of some of the less than friendly banter that happens in the lounge.  I know I'm on a few CCer's list of least liked because I came off a bit harsh in the fitness forum to some newbies and I guess they now either lurk or have found threads I don't venture into.

Some may just use CC to log food.  Personally I use another website for my logging but hate their "journal" rooms because most people tend to be too conservative for my liking.  So I use CC and that other website like the saying in AA goes - "Take what you can use and leave the rest"

I just read this and must admit it was quite thoughtful of you.

 Awww...

You're now officially my favorite new CC member.

This is much better place for this thread and I'll peek in occasionaly to se how this goes. Generally it's a good idea. I'd be tempted to set up a lady or two of my friends actually if this system works :-)

I still can't get over the 1.5 million users. Really??? 1.5 million??? Even outside the Lounge I'm always under the impression it's just a few hundred. Wow.

Actually it's almost 3 million.  Wink

I wonder what % of those are daily, weekly, monthly occasional and signed up and never returned again.

I know there are some groups I belong to that the moderator/ person who set up the group no longer exists and now I wonder what will happen if some spammer or other not so good seed finds there way in there.

I know sometimes a zombie thread gets brought back to life and the op is long gone.

DANGITT!

Still nobody.  We're stuck at 3.

Apparently people in the Motivation forum are just not motivated.  Ironic.

Ah bah, and I was hoping to see some advancement of the issue.

That's the problem, Ccat, everything on CC but The Lounge (well, and weightloss, but that's the same ten threads over and over) is kinda dead.

Not even any lurkers?

I think you need to post the age of bachelor 1.

I know, it's friggin rediculous!!

We're only up to 4 people.  And that's just not enough.  Oh well, I guess 4 is better than nothing...but still, I figured given the demographics of htis site, that finding 8-10 females that were single and interested in "casually" meeting a couple fellas wouldn't be as difficult as it's proven to be.

Oh well.  Was worth a try.

Allergy Remedies
Is It Possible to Go Natural?
The side effects of allergy medications keep some people from using them. Natural remedies can be a great alternative, but some are more effective than others.
