A note I wrote myself to read, every morning, to stay motivated.

Quote  |  Reply

I have this note hanging in front of me.  I read it every morning, without fail.  It reads:

Good morning!

How lucky you are to get to live another day.  Just remember you have one life and one body, you should try your best to nourish your body with healthy foods to keep going.  Feed yourself with food to help you live your best every day.  Take yourself to new lengths.  See how much you can accomplish in your body that you never thought possible.

Show your body how much you appreciate it by treating yourself to healthy living.  Better food for mind, body, and soul.  :)

Hey hon!

I did a little looking at your profile, and the only thing I would really like to remind you is that you are more than the food you eat. Although that's true physically, people aren't too concerned about the proteins that make you up and the DNA that codes these proteins. They care about your moods, your successes, your failures, and more than anything, your love.

So why is your body the only thing you're focusing on? Why don't you shift that focus to taking care of YOU-your moods, and your feelings. Although food can help you stay healthy and happy, that's only one small part of taking care of yourself. You are absolutely beautiful the way you are.

I write this because I lost a friend over not taking care of myself. I didn't have the depression and ED, she did. I worried and worried about her, and broke down one day, and the friendship fell apart. People care about you and want to be the best person that you are.

Good idea to have such a reminder - mine is also above my computer:

No matter what life has in store, I know I have done something today that is important to me.

I love that :)

The sign above my door reads, "No Effort No Gain!" I see it every day and it's helped me when I just wanted to skip a workout. I also look at my fat pics on a screen saver here at my computer which is also where my weights are located. They remind me of someone I once was and will NEVER be again.

I agree with clarinetqueen that your mental health is just as if not more important than your physical health. As for what others think of us; Screw em!! Be happy in your own life and in your own skin and let the rest roll off your back. If you need help with this, then seek it.

Keeping a positive mindset, and beginning every day with this note is awesome and beautiful! I have been using a note pad, and as silly as it may sound, stickers every day for my food log, but in the moring I "set up" each day as follows-

First, I focus in my mind and breathe. Then I pick out 4-5 little stickers. I put one on each corner of the notepad, and on the top and bottom write motivational, positive and happy words; believe, free, love, smile, etc. This is my tool and it helps sooooo much!

Reminding ourselves that every day we wake up IS ablessing and each day is a new beginning, having gratitiude- thats what really matters!

I love it! I might have to do that too! Very inspiring : )

Awesome!  I've had one on my desk at work for several months, and though it's not diet related, I think it's worth sharing because it helps me not say things that I shouldn't (and don't we all have that problem from time to time):

HE WHO THROWS DIRT LOSES GROUND.

Thanks for sharing your motivational note. It is so true.

HE WHO THROWS DIRT LOSES GROUND.

Ha! so true ; )

This is so awesome!

This is an awesome and wonderful note to leave yourself everyday againstmexo!   It's important to remind ourselves that food is to nourish us and this requires the best of food and nutrition!  If we are eating to feed our emotions or feeding our food addictions then we are not honouring our bodies and we are not living our lives to the fullest as our bodies are not the best they can be.

I think I may have to copy your quote until I come up with my own love note to myself.

Thank you for sharing.

That is awesome...while mine is not as good as that...it is one I have on my fridge and computer @ work ...does help @ times...

"Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels"

This stops me from eating lots of things I should not eat ! lol

This is great!  When I finally found what helped me lose the weight, my dad said something cool:

You can move a mountain, but first you have to find your shovel.

I really like that one too. :)

Thank you for this!  My dear friend passed away this year at the age of 34 after a most courageous 15 year battle with cancer.  I have never known anyone to have lived as much as he did in his short time here.  Despite 35 surgeries and numerous chemos and radiations and trial meds, he still finished college, had a successful career, a wonderful family, travelled the world, and made friends with everyone who met him.  Anytime I feel down or not wanting to do something, I think that he's not even here to have that choice so I have to keep going for him.  And if he was here, he'd be doing it no matter what lousy reasons I had for not doing it!  He has been a big driving force for me to leave a better, healthier life because I am here and he wanted everyone who knew him to keep going and live our lives to the fullest.  Every day is a blessing that we shouldn't take for granted because the next one may not be there.
