I am starting today on my quest to be fit and healthy on my big day, 07/07/07 (and beyond......)  I am 5'4", 155lbs (BMI is 26.6, need to get to at least 25).  My target weight is 135.  I bought the book "Buff Brides" and it has great exercices and weight loss tips.  I plan to start my workout program tonight.

Any other future brides here that would like a diet buddy?

Hi Ladies!

I just got engaged a week before Christmas and I am so excited!  My fiance and I have decided to get married in Mexico Nov. 07...so not only do I have to fret about fitting into a wedding dress I have to prance around in a bikini in front of our family and friends! hehe!  I am 5'5 and about 170 lbs. GULP!  Yes that means I have about 30 lbs to lose in about 10 months!  I have joined Weight watchers on line and hope to be strict about counting points as well as get into a reasonable excercise routine!  This Buff Brides thing sounds fun...I will definately look into that!  Good luck to everyone and keep me posted on your progress!

I'm a future bride myself. I will be getting married June 15th, 2007. I'm so excited, but like you guys I've got some pounds to loose and some muscles to tone. I currently weight 195lbs and am a size 14. I would like to get down to 160lbs by my wedding. That's a lot of weight to loose and sometimes I feel like I don't have enough time. But I have already lost 40lbs in my fight for a healthier body... I think doing it again is an achievable goal. I wish the best of luck to the rest of you.

YEA Brides to be! We can do it!

And I could use a heath buddy too.

Kwietro01,  I am getting married on 5/26/07 and congratulations on your upcoming nuptials.  You are my height and I currently weigh 154lbs. in a size 12.  What did you do to lose your weight and how long did it take you?
Hi All,

I am also getting married June 9, 2007.  My dress is a little snug so I would like to lose a few.  I'm 5'1 and currently weigh 119-123.  It fluctuates within this range daily.  Is that odd that it ranges so much at different times of the day?  My goal weight is 110 - 115 (as I am sitting here eating Girl Scout cookies).  Obviously my problem is food, once I start I can't stop.  I work out 3-4 days a week, but how can I stop this eating.  Being so short I feel like my weight adds on quickly.  I was at 129 before the holidays and after I was 121.  I believe the only reason I lost some weight is because I got a puppy and was too busy with her to worry about food, but now I am back to my normal eating habits.  Any tips???

Hi all,

I think mine is the nearest wedding 10-02-2007.  Lovely summer wedding here in NZ!  Over the past two years I've lost 20kgs, but would like to lose another 6.  Obviously it's  not going to happen in the next 4 weeks, but anything is better than nothing....

All the best with the weight goals

Alice.
Maclae00, you sound exactly like me.  I too amd between 5'6-5'7" and currently at 155.  Up until a year ago i could eat what i wanted when i wanted and stuck comfortably between 100 & 115lbs.  The change lifestyle has done me no good.  I have a wedding date of 01/05/08, and I have never had to watch what I eat nor how much I drink, so i am trying to give myself ample amount of time.  My idea weight would be to get back down to 115 but i will be happy with 125.  I think that i could use your help on staying with this.  I do not get to check out this website much. I work all of the time and have access to my email all the time.  tderossett@kellerlogistics.com  i would enjoy hearing from u
Hi Ladies!!!

I am a future bride looking to get fit also. It sound like I need to get this Buff Brides book that everyone seems to love....ebay here I come. I am 5' 8" and weigh 142lbs the last I checked. According to my BMI I am at a healthy weight so I am looking to get more toned up. I just joined this sight last week and have been counting my calories everyday. It is interesting to see what is really in something. Doing this has, so far, made me pay a lot more attention to what I am eating. Counting calories is my first step in getting into a routine, my next is to use my Gazelle more. It is great because it tells you exactly how many calories you are burning. I am also buying a scale this weekend!!! Good luck to everyone!

I couple tips I read about....
Try to drink one cup of Green tea a day. I found a mint and citrus one by Celestial Seasoning, they are both great with a teaspoon of honey. Green tea speeds the metabolism and is great for you.

I work at a desk all day so this tip is awesome... It is to sucks in your stomach and hold our muscles for 5 second, that is supposed to equal one crunch. I swear it is working too, I have a two pack now :)
Hi Everyone!

I am a future bride looking to get fit also. I am so excited that you all are on here. I am 5'8" and I am at 172lbs. You wouldn't believe me if you saw me though. I am looking to tone up before my wedding day which is  08-11-2007. I have found the most beautiful dress!!! And I want to make sure my body looks just as amazing!

How is everything going with the Buff Bride book? Is it really worth getting?

Babie_bld, I have heard of the sucking in your stomach for five seconds = a crunch. It really works, huh?
Melbride07 - It really works even though it sounds crazy! I really can a 2 pack and I never did before, its not much but it is a start. If you are watching tv or sitting at a desk like me you can do it then. I even do it when I am walking around. I have noticed I sit up straighter too now. Try it and good luck!!!
Oooooh, I'm going to have to try this little desk exercise Babie!  I think sitting all day is part of my weight gain problem.  I try to take a walk on my breaks.  Sometimes it's just so hard to break away from my desk.

Well, I've been at the Buff Brides workout for a week now, and I am already starting to see some toning up....especially in my arms!  My dress is spaghetti straps, so I have to be sure my upper body is looking good, too.   I really do think it works!

Keep it up brides!
ME ME ME!!!  David asked me to marry him on Christmas Eve!
Hi, fellow Brides-to-be! I'm getting married on April 17th in Cuba. I'm 5'3" and I've lost 20lbs since my engagement with the assistance of Calorie-Count.com!

I'm a natural fitness fiend, and I know nearly every nutritional fact of every food under the sun, but I can NOT remember what I ate 10 minutes ago.

Calorie-count.com remembers everything for me. Also, the weight chart is my lifeline. The 'trend' line is 10 times better info than that jagged (but natural!) up-down-up-down 'actual' weight line.

If anyone is still looking for a weight-loss buddy after the past 31 posts, I'd love to hear from you - still got 10lbs to lose in the next 95 days!

Shell - thank you for your post! It's really nice to see all the future brides popping up. I'm running 5 times per week and doing the "Shape - Best Butt Fast" video 2Xweek, arms 2Xweek and abs 2Xweek.  I've stepped things up for the last 3 months (Yeah, I'm actually DOING all the workouts in the weekly plan now ... ha, ha!).
The dress (of my dreams) is strapless and I'm a touch panicked over my matronly upper arms ... then there's the week of living in a bikini ... oh MY!

Keep in touch and congratulations everyone!
Congratulations to you all both on your engagement and to your fitness commitments.  I've been married for almost 8 years now and as a professional photographer am finding it very important to get back in shape.  2007 is the year for me, at over 120lbs overweight I see new determination to stay fit and stick to my goals.    Calorie-Count helps me not only keep track of what I eat but it helps me log my weight and my excercise!!!
Babie, I will definitely give it a try sitting here at my desk today! When are you getting married? I think I missed that, sorry.

Congrats to everyone on their engagements by the way!!!

Shell, I 'll have to look into getting that book. Do you have a link to your dress? I would love to see what other brides have chose.
I don't right now....that's something I definitely need to do!  I would love to see everybody's dresses. Great idea Mel.  I'll post mine as soon as I take some pictures.
Yeah awesome idea. It might be a little while but when mine is done I will post a pic. I designed and am making it. I will see if I have a sketch I can post though.  My colors for my  October wedding are red, black and gray. What is everyone else doing??

I was thinking, a cheap idea for decorations on the tables would be to go to a thrift store and buy glass cup and candle holders that are all the same color. They would give something different for each table but still be in the color theme. I am doing that and then I will just donate them back to the store. Anyone have anyother money saving tips??

This is such a great idea.  Congratulations to everyone.  My decorations are very inexpensive.  I purchased my floating candle bowls at the 99cents and the Dollar tree.  The irridescent rocks that I will place in the bottom, I purchased at a discount store called "Big Lots".  The floating candles I purchased smell like roses and I got the best deal on Ebay.  I also purchased my dress from Ebay, brand new with the tags and it is beautiful.
brnlady,  would you share with me the link where you got your candles?  I am thinking of doing the exact same thing for my centerpieces!  :-)

Since our wedding is on 07-07-07, I found invitations that look like a playing card (king and queen of hearts), so I want to incorporate red hearts as decoration.  Our theme is "lucky sevens."

Here's a good link for tips to save money for your wedding:  www.frugalbride.com/frugalhintstips.html
brnlady - I love Big Lots, I will have to go look around there and see what I can find.

shellevans35- Your theme is awesome. Are you having name cards for seating? I so you could make them out of playing cards.

Anyone doing a little gift for guests? I found a recipe to make your own bath salts. You dye and scent to whatever you wants. I am making mini sheer draw string bags for them I think.
I too am a bride to be.  I don't weigh anywhere in you all's range.  But I am slowly working on it.  I attend the gym 4-5 times a week and have shed around 30 lbs. so far.  I hope to continue.
