Jon- WTG on the 8pounds that is awsome!!!! Is Turkey and fish is that really all you can eat on the beach body diet? I have the dvd's but havn't opened them yet until the baby is born but I gues I should probably read up on it.
no im on my own so called beach body diet i invented it i eat fish and turkey, fruits and vegetables . On my cheat day that i have once a week i can have chicken or steak with a starch and some carbs but it is working i weighed myself this mourning and was down 11 in 5 days.
Hi, gang. I've been spending quite a bit of time on another thread and haven't reported in for awhile.
I'm celebrating BIG TIME this week. After starting my weight-loss journey 19 months ago at 400 pounds, I am thrilled to tell you all that I'm now under 200! Yep! I made it to 199!!!! Bye-bye, 400s, 300s and now 200s all through good eating habits and exercise (no surgery)!!! This is the most exhilarating feeling and I can't wait for each and every one of you to get to where I am!
I still want to lose 40 more pounds but considering where I started, I'm feeling pretty darn good both physically and emotionally.
Wow kauf, that's just flat out inspirational. I don't know what to say.
Jon-please be careful about your diet, it can be really unsafe to try drastic dietes without Dr. consent. We all want to lose weight, but even if you lose it it can all come back really easily when you quit doing it.
My own news-went to my midwife today and got the report that baby is already between 8-8.5 lbs, and I'm not due till the 22nd, and first time moms are usually late. Weighed in at 289, damn it. I try not to think about it too much because there's nothing I can do about it until baby comes. Never looked forward to diet and exercise so much in my life!
Kauf that is truly inspiring keep up the great work. We are all here to route for you and cheer you on as you melt away to 150!!!
As for me Dr. apt went off with out a hitch. he said my weight was good I am at a slow consistent gain, my lungs sounded clear so he thinks I might have an allergy to something in or around my room and it is not weight related and my sugar came back perfect so that isn't a concern for the headaches. He has banned me from my scale till the baby comes because he thinks that is stressing me more then anything else.so who wants to baby sit my scale for me?? lol TTYL!
I haven't checked in for awhile. The good news is I am out of my self-loathing state of mind.
mabear and Sarah- I have the exact opposite issue when I am pregnant. I lose too much weight because I am sick the entire time. Before you say "oh, shut up" I must tell you that after I deliver the baby I gain 20 to 30 pounds in a month each time. I just had my fourth baby (kids are 5, 4, 3, and 9 months). I was in the 220's when I became pregnant, down to the 180's while pregnant, and shot back up to the 220's after the pregnancy. It is so nice to enjoy my favorite foods (which are... just about everything) without getting so sick, that I just continuously eat them. This does not help with my emotional eating habits. In my opinion, I think it would be easier to gain while pregnant and lose afterwards, but I have not been in your shoes. My point? I am glad to hear you are not experiencing the opposite. I have every confidence you will lose the weight. Why? Because you are facing it, have a plan, and are talking about it with others. I wish you only the best, and I will baby sit your scales if you need me to! mabear when are you due? I may have missed a post- are either of you first time mothers? Don't worry- I try to only give child rearing advice when asked!
Kauf- WOW!!! You are AMAZING! You worked really hard! You are close to losing an entire one of me, and that's quite a lot! I am 5' 10" and 215 lbs.
Well, I want to amend my spring goals by comfortaby fitting in a size 14 (this means no muffin top) by the last day of school which is May 21st. I am squeezing into a 16 right now. The smallest size I can fit in is a 9/10 due to my large bone structure. The last time I wore that size was 12 years ago. I exercised today for the first time in three weeks. It was harder than it has been, but I feel great. I hope the motivation continues. Here we go...
Oh, Drop it (what is your name?) shut up (just kidding!). I've been grateful not to be too sick for the most part, just sick for about 6 weeks at about the 6 month point. I'm looking forward to hitting the park with the baby, among other things, obviously. I'm the same way with sizes, when I'm at 150ish pounds I'm a size 10 or so. Good luck with the 14. I was a tight 16 before I got pregnant, and looking forward to even an 18. Hopefully by the end of the summer I can be a comfortable 16, that would make me happy. What are you in school for? I'm working on a Masters of Public Administration myself.
you lost 200? that is just amazing!
Sarah- I teach in an elementary school and I am in graduate school for my Specialist in Education. The park is where I lost a lot of my weight the first time. We have a park close to my house which has a 3 mile paved trail with lots of rolling hills. I bought a double jogging stroller to put the younger two in and the 5 and 4 year old ride their bikes or walk. Now that the weather is warming up and the days are longer in GA we can start back to our little family workouts. My husband is just shy of 300 pounds and needs to lose the weight, too.
Karen...that is AMAZING. I am so happy for you. I bet you feel fantastic! You are really inspirational!
I haven't checked in for a while, but things are going great. Today is 8 weeks since I started. I lost 19lbs the first 4 weeks and I have lost 16lbs this past 4 weeks. That puts me at -35lbs which is halfway to my goal of -70. That means I have 35 to go to hit 199 before my birthday of 08/01. I'll probably drop another 15 or so after that, but being under 200 is my goal right now.
I am back here again.
rockinmama-I am so glad that you got that treadmill. Maybe this is what you need to feel better.
For all the pregnant ones-I had a doctor when I had my daughter that was dead set against me gaining too much weight since I was already so overweight. He would scold me if I put on three pounds during one month. I ended up only gaining 14 pounds during my pregnacy and was thinner afterwards than before but I made up for it later.
tsjej-Congratulations on the 35 pounds. It is sure a good feeling.
Kafmkk-Congratulations on the 200 pounds. I am so excited for you.
I had a bad week last week and I think I am back on track. I was working some pretty stupid shifts at work because we had a couple of night girls with some emergencies and I didn't do the best healthly eating and exercising but I am back on track and ready to go.
Hope everyone is having a great week.
hey since i last logged in ive lost another 6 lbs thats right im down more than 14 in about 9 days but im doing it healthy so dont worry. im getting my 1800 calories a day in. IM just burning like 5000 a day im up to drinking 140 ounces of water a day about 4.5 liters of water or like a gallon and a half a day.
Bqueen- lets get to that challenge im definatly down for it you make it ill take it.
Rmama- im so glad you got the treadmill just dont let it become a coat rack use it for motivation i know you can reach your goals. And on another note how is you lifting going i would like to know what exercise's you are doing these days and if youve uped the weight any.
Well i had a goal of i believe 20 lbs by may 25 but im almost there so im setting my goal to 35 that will put me dawn to 240 a new low. In a good way. Since in 9th grade i went from 215 to 315 yeah thats right i gained 100 lbs i want to get it all off too. right now im lowere than when i was 14 and it feels ok not great until i reach that finish line and learn never to gain it back again.
To all you out there i didnt say hi to hello and as joe dirt says keep on keepin on peace out hommies.
Kafmkk- You must be on cloud nine. Congrads!!!
its good to hear Rmama i cant believe you are up to using 50lbs and doing reps with it im astonished. When i go to the gym i see all these girly girls lifting the 5lbs dumbells and acting like it is heavy and strenuous when you barely see them sweat. Im glad that you intend to use that treadmill and hope you keep on chuggin along
ARGH! I gained 2 lbs. last night! I hate the building up the muscle part. Gaining weight to lose weight is such a motivation killer. 3 out of four days I have ran 4 miles. I have also hit the yard work pretty hard- about two hours a day. Have you ever tried thinning out wild blackberries? Yikes! Between those and the polk salad I am pretty scratched up and sore. If the calculations are correct I have burnt 1000 calories on the days I both ran and did yard work. I cannot wait to see the scale below 200 again.
I am so proud of all of you who are losing your weight and sticking with your eating and exercising routines. You are all motivation for me to stay strong and not give up. Of course, next week I will be back to teaching and not have as much time to burn additional calories. I figured spring break was the best kick start time for changing my habits.
Drop-it-like-hotcakes-I was gaining for a couple of days to but I have turned it back around so I guess I am back with the program. I have more energy again and ready to keep at it.
Rockin-mama-You are doing so good. Keep it up. The treadmill does get easier. I haven't been using the one at the gym for awhile now. I have been walking around the track so I can keep going because they have a half hour time limit there.
jon_smith-Congratulations on the 14 pounds. I am happy that things are turning around for you.
I was back at the gym today after work. I walked in the lazy river for a little over an your and now it is the housework stuff. No outside work today because it is raining.
Imhoff- We all need lazy days some days. Good for you for going to the gym. With my Cleaning job I find it hard to exercise afterwards. I'm better to get up a little earlier and exercise before I head off to work. Gives me that extra energy I need to make it through the day.
Have a great evening everyone!
Today when I weighed I was 199.4 that also gives me my 50 pound mark. It felt so good not to see the 2 in front this morning. It made all of this worth while and I am ready for the other 77 pounds.
Hope everyone is having a good day.
