GET INVOLVED!!!  Each Sunday we will be presenting a mini-challenge for all participants to take part in. You might have to post your favorite snack under 100 calories or tell everyone the nicest compliment you have recieved so far.  Message me with your ideas and recieve honorable mention as the week's BIGGEST SCHMOOZER!

This group is all about keeping that postitive attitude throughout your journey. It doesn't matter if you are just starting out or are maintaining, everyone needs someone to lean on now and then. So SCHMOOZE & LOSE with your friends and stay motivated!

WHAT TO EXPECT (GUIDELINES):

  1. This is a 10 week motivational group. If you feel you cannot endure the full 10 weeks, message me and let me know I don't hound you.
  2. You must post a Start and Finish weight. If you're not up to posting your weight on certain weeks, that's fine. This is all about staying motivated. 
  3. Mini-challenges will be posted on Sunday. We hope that everyone will take part, but if you don't, there is no pressure. We're here to support you on this journey.
  4. Feel free to use this group as a place to express yourself -  fears, frustrations, worries, goals, triumphs, successes. We are here to support and motivate one another, whether you're doing great or stuggling.

AHHHH! Much better!

Managed to get back on track this week and was serious about no treats and LOTS of water and exercise. Since it was treat day we went out to a chinese noodle house and then I had 50g of Baked Lays as a bedtime snack...pretty pleased with those choices! At least it wasn't Dairy Queen or McD's!

My goal for this challenge was 165 - can she lose the remaining 3.4 in the next two weeks??? I'm darned well gonna give it my best shot!!

What a crazy weigh in!  It's rained almost all week so I've barely got any exercise in and, though I've stayed in my calories, I didn't make the best choices.  It's also TOM week and I rarely show a decent loss.  So I'm a bit perplexed.  My original goal for this challenge was to get to 176 . . . I'd be soooo thrilled if I actually did it!

Woot Woot wieght for this week 176.6!  I have also accomplished my water goal everyday this week...so far.  We will have to see how the weekend goes.  I am not very good about my water intake on the weekends.

It's frustrating this week.  I have gained 4 lbs. so far in one week.  I know it's hormonal, as I haven't been eating over the calories I have burned each day.  I haven't had very much of a deficit each day though.  I have definitely been feeling more hungry.  What a rotten thing these hormones are dong to me.  I hope this particular time of the month goes by fast....UGH!  It's like a false sense of failure....that makes me feel like I am doing something wrong. 

When I saw that +4 lbs. today, I did have that fear....what if it just keeps going up?  What if I have lost control of my weight and it goes up no matter what I do?  Silly thoughts, I know....I have to laugh at that, take a deep breath and just relax....realize that this too shall pass.  Patience is a difficult life lesson for me to learn. 

Well....it is helping to type this out....makes me really get those irrational thoughts, of losing all control, out in the open and then they seem much less real.  PMS sucks!

Funny the weeks challenge is more water because i had totally slacked off on the water.  I started drinking more last week and look at the loss.  Besides I feel better and that is incentive all on its own, not to mention that I have been paying close attention to my food needs (feeling hungry vs. just eating because it is time) I am not eating as much by increasing my water intake.

Well, last week on vacation I was not good - my sister brought so much trigger foods into the house - fritos, kettle chips, nuts, pretzels, goldfish.  And it was my birthday and we had guests at the house, so cake and ice cream too and big birthday dinner. Sigh. I lost 2 pounds in the last two days since I have been back in charge though which is a plus. But, I so wanted to be 10 pounds down for my bday at least - actually I wanted to be under 200 but thought that was too aggressive. I did not know how "too aggressive" it was. Hopefully with better behaviors over the next few days it will be back on track. I was down to 208 before I left!

One day, I will realize that for my birthday, a great gift would be to stay on track like I wished I had last week.  Why does food have to be so central to celebrations and vacations???

Okay, so this seems unbelieveable. I have watched the scales go down every single day since August 15th. I have never had a week like this since I started back in october. Finally I seem to be doing it right. I still can't believe it.

Hi everyone! I'm posting this week's challenge early because we'll be in the middle of a hurricane this time tomorrow and I might lose my power. Hope everyone had a wonderful week!

WEEK 9: THE POWER OF PROTEIN

New research shows that people who eat a diet with lots of protein (about 30%) rarely report hunger between meals and, therefore, can control their appetites and eat less. This leads to weight loss! Researchers think that when we eat a lot of protein the brain receives lower levels of appetite-stimulating hormones and we just don't feel hungry as often. To get the potential weightloss benefit you should aim for 120g of protein a day.

There is no danger of eating lots of protein providing you choose the right protein! We all know eggs and meat are a high source of protein as well as cholesterol and fat. Did you know that 1 cup of low fat cottage cheese has 28g of protein and only 163 cals and 2g of fat!!! Instant oatmeal made with water has 6g of protein. 1 cup of green peas have 8g while chick peas have 12!. 1 cup of Low-fat yogurt has 12g. Even 1 cup of cooked broccoli has 4g of protein. Fish and seafood are excellent low-fat sources.

So, this week's challenge is to find out how how many grams of protein you have been eating by checking your daily analysis and work on increasing your protein intake. Tell us your tips to add protein to meals and snacks. After a few days of increasing your protein report back in and let us know if you've noticed any changes in your appetite or the way you feel. Let's put this research to the test!!

WOW! Seems like us Schmoozers are all on the same wavelength! There have been some HUGE losses this week! I wonder if all that water is helping! ha ha ha

seriously though...everyone should be extrememly proud! To date we have lost 285.25 pouinds in just 8 weeks! That's 998,375 calories saved!!!

We can feed our starving child his 2200 cals a day for 1 year and 3 months!!!

way to go everyone! I am wonderfully proud of you all! You all deserve marching bands, never mind drum rolls!!!

I am definately interested in another 10 weeks of this challenge. Had a tough time with this one, but, I know these challenges are what gives me the motivation to keep going. I just hate when I have to report no loss or a gain. The challenge is what makes me get up and head out for those walks at night when I would much prefer sitting and watching tv.

I'd be lost without you all!

I would love to do another 10 weeks Smile  Or to even extend this one to 20 weeks.

I'd love another 10 weeks.  Although I've not made the progress I would have liked over the past 8 weeks, the challenge has kept motivated to continue working on getting the weight off, eating healthy and getting back to exercising.

I am ready for another 10 weeks too!!!

I have not been as successful as I would have liked but it has helped immensely!! I would love to do 10 more weeks!!
