a strict clean-eating club / challenge

Quote  |  Reply
I know lots of people will argue everyone needs to treat themselves a bit, maybe even every day, but I know I can't possibly be the only one who has one taste of a sugary or salty or whatever treat and turns into a binging lunatic!

I want to shed my last 15 lbs, and I've been working on them for months. The only way I am going to get them off is to GET OFF THE JUNK!

I figure this club would be great for anyone who either wants to completely cut out junk, processed foods, sugar or whatever, or just wants to limit themselves with a set amount per day or.. you know... anyone who is a Can't-seem-to-have-just-one-taste kind of person (like me)

  So, whose with me!?

We can come here to support eachother, or even start a little friendly competition. I am really a competitive person so I think it would be great motivation. Say, if we go the whole day sticking to good healthy food (and our allowed treats if we have em), we get a point. Whoever has the most points ... er... stays in the lead and gets bragging rights!

So, come on in, introduc yourself. Tell us your stats, your goal for this Challenge/Club and lets get healthier!

*** I also want to note that this is about eating healthy, not starving ourselves. If you are here to get help cutting your calories dangerously low, this is not the place to be***

How's everyone doing so far?

Yesterday was ok for me, except that I couldn't resist a piece of Pumpkin pie. The only saving grace was that I worked out and managed to keep my other meals under control.

The last few days have been great for me clean-eating. and lots of exercise too :) I was really tempted to get a muffin and cappucino between classes with a couple girlfriends, like we always do tuesdays, but today I pulled an apple out of my pack and munched on that instead. I was really proud of myself.

I've decided to take down the score-board since I know everyone isn't going to be reporting back daily, and its kinda hard to tell whether a person's day was a success or no. So, lets keep coming back here to supprt eachother and post our progress/set-backs/motivations/anything

I havent done any exercise this week but prob start at the gym next week..Been eating alot of apples, low cal soup, cereal in the evening and low fat sandwichs on brown bread. Sarah_11235 How are you going on the challenge? What food you enjoying?..Stick in there xxx

Hey Guys! Count me in!!!

Im usually pretty good during the week, but I have a weakness for wine...a big weakness! which is loaded with sugar.

I want to cut out the foods that have "hidden" sugar. Can anyone tell me what foods have the highest sugar???

Current weight :140lbs

Goal: 130lbs

Im new to this site, so this is awsome!

hi sorry Ive been a bit MIA. foodwise haven't been so great the last few days. The TOTM pacman munchettes have gotten to me, and I was dragged to a chinese buffet that had not one single healthy choice (I tried my hardest, but there was NOTHING) then later the pizza happened, a chocolate too. argh! Tomorrow = back on track no matter what!!
hi l_angeles, welcome! I'm sorry, but I don't know much about what foods have a lot of sugar, but I think its a great idea to try to cut them out!

Hope all our American members are doing well with their eating through this holiday weekend!

yess i'm really happy this morn..since starting this clean eating weighing 134lbs, weighed myself this morn and i'm 131lbs...have to keep it up!! hows everyone else doin? xxxxxxxxxx
Had the worst day of eating yesterday in a LONG time. But, I feel like I got it out of my system, and I'll be able to eat well today, no prob. Re-reads previous posts that basically said the same thing. This challenge is harder than I thougt it would be. Wish me luck
Hey Friends!

I'd like to join this club/challenge. Like many of you, once I have a little taste of sugar/processed/unheathly food, i'm done for. I could use this network of support and motivation!
i'm 5'5'', 132lbs, hoping to get down to 125lbs. and I have been eating SO unhealthy that It's a miracle that I have only gained 2 lbs instead of 5lbs. I'm hoping to get it out of my system by tomorrow by drinking lots of water and eating lots of vegetable and fish. thanks guys!
Hi can I please join too! Same as you guys once I eat bad food I end up bingeing :( I have no self-control around sugary crap-food and once I've eaten some I figure I've 'blown it' and then it just gets worse and worse...Anyway I'm quite excited to be eating healthy! I want to lose 8 kg (which I think is about 18 pounds...  not really sure) coz at the moment I weigh 70kg and i'd like to be 62 kg. i am doing lots of exercise and stuff and eating healthy meals but i et a bit caught up on snacks. Do you guys have any healthy snacks that fill you up but are healthy and good for weight loss. At the moment I'm eating a couple of scoops of shaping protein powder with a handful of blueberries and water.. is this healthy? Thanks guys xxxx
Wow good job everyone! Yesterday was my first full day of "clean" eating - yay! I'm on my way to #2. It was easier once I rid my cabinets of all the bad stuff and filled up on fresh produce. I haven't seen much in the way of weight loss yet but I'm hoping if I keep it up I'll see results eventually. Keep up the good work everyone!
I love tangerines. They are very low calorie and the perfect portable on the run snack. I found that if i have a tangerine (or two) then a bottle of water, i feel pretty satisfied without the familiar urge for *MORE MORE MORE SWEETS CARBS SUGAR* I have also noticed that my tendency to binge on carbs and chocolates almost always has to do with lack of sleep. which makes sense because of the whole leptin deal. wish me luck please. my clean eating lifestyle begins tomorrow and i really hope i can cleanse my body of all those bad processed junk and keep it that way...
Sorry I've been away from the thread for a few days. Last few days of classes and assignments have piled up. However, I have managed to eat strictly clean all week and am down to 136 lbs! I'm so happy to finally get back ontrack and be back on my way to reaching my goal.

Have you guys noticed that after you go 3-4 days without junk, you really don't want it anymore?

This is just what I was looking for!

I am 17 years old, weigh 190 lbs at 5'2, and I plan to get down to at least 150. I cut soda mostly out of my diet almost two years ago, and lost about 10 lbs over the course of a couple of months. I'm hoping that cutting out other junk food will do the same for me. I hope to get rid of: all kinds of candy, chips, baked sweets (cakes, pies, etc, but excluding muffins), fast food, ice cream (and things that contain ice cream), and soda (completely).

My biggest problems are that I justify giving myself those kinds of things ("Oh, I've been good, just for today," or "I've had a bad day, it won't hurt), and they're all around my house. Maybe I can cut that out with a little support.

I have been attempting this on my own for a while now so I am sooooo excited to see a group for it! I have cut out sugary foods from my diet, as well as processed foods. If I lived on my own this would be much more easy, however, my husband is a junk food junkie and there is no stopping him (he is very thin, exercises daily so he sees no reason not to). I did great last week, however last night I went on a small sugary food binge, I ate a couple 90 calorie granola bars and chocolate milk with some cheetos. Im pretty sure those are not on my food list. hehe. Anyways I am here to mainly maintain my weight. I also am training for a marathon so the foods I choose to eat need to be used for fuel for my body... not garbage.
