that Summer grind! Girls weight loss goals between July 1 - September 1
Hi everyone! I'm going on an amazing caribbean vacation with a group from school at the end of this summer and I'm really motivated to lose those pounds before its time to leave. I'm looking for some amazing people to join me! Let's motivate each other :) What are your goals and reasons? Does anyone have any workout plans or tips to share?
These are my stats:
Height: 5'5
Starting weight: 195
Current Weight: 185
Goal weight by September 1: 165-170
Ultimate goal: 140-150
SW: 192
CW: 194
Goal by Sept 1: 182
So I gained two pounds over the weekend, but I'm pretty sure it's because it's been over 100F every day recently and I can't seem to get enough water. If it is real weight I would have to say that it's a little shocking to go up like that so fast.
Ok, here's mine:
SW: 185
CW: 189
GW by Sept 1: 180
I need to seriously get my act together!...looking to everyone here for inspiration! :)

I didn't know bread pudding had so many calories in it! I ate a piece every day over the weekend & didn't think much of it, then went to log today, around 900 cals per piece! Considering I'm supposed to have 1250, I have to remember to save bread pudding for VERY special occasions!

8 weeks left everyone! We can all do 8 pounds!
I would LOVE to join you!

Gotta get fit, my husband wants to go to the Halloween parties as Wolverine and Mystique....this body and blue laytex paint? Not a good idea right now, so definite motivation!! LOL
fmjess: I had no idea that bread pudding had that many calories either.
I barely eat it, but it's still surprising to see. (On the other hand, I can attest to Starbucks' food having a LOT of calories...)

Alright then let's just do monday, so today will be the last day to get a workout in!
Monday it is then.![]()
I worked my butt off over the week-end with added work outs and still no change from my last stat post, so here it is again. Hopefully this week will see me gaining new ground. I'm eager to finally see the 170's! This hovering in the low 80's has got to come to an end at some point...
Starting weight: 207
Current Weight: 181.4
Goal weight by September 25: 165-170
Ultimate goal:150
Loss of 1.8
fmjess: Ditto on not knowing that bread pudding had that many calories. I guess my biggest shocker for calorie counting so far has been the whopping numbers for pasta dishes.![]()
Speaking of which is there anyone else who is counting for the first time, as I am? I've been blown away with my newly discovered knowledge of the values of what I'm consuming. I've never been a label reader until now and I'm kinda grossed out to learn the truth about some of my favorite foods.

I've been sad to recently find out poptarts have 200 calories.. EACH. as in 400 per package. so sad.. no wonder i was a chubby child.. :(

Look up some of the hamburgers sometimes. I get a craving once in awhile for a Frisco Burger, all by itself that is practically my calorie allotment for the day. Then there is the Monster Burger! Over 2000 calories!!!! OMG! not that I ever ate it, but my ex sure liked them.
Hey am I too late to join you all? I'm going to Mexico for 2 weeks on the 20th August :)
these are my stats:

Start weight: 175lbs
Current Weight: 163lbs
Goal weight by September 1: ~150lbs
Ultimate goal: Not too sure as for lightweight rowing I need to be 130lbs but I don't know whether I want to put my body through that.

@fmjess- YUM! Bread Pudding! <3 I'm sure there are lower calorie recipes and variations. When you find one- let me know so I can eat it! lol.
@cherrysolitaire- Welcome to the world of calorie counting! Calorie counting and label reading can be mind-blowing. After awhile it comes naturally. Don't get overwhelmed with reading all of the information and picking "perfect" foods. Do what works for you easily until you plateau.
@target140- I like the Belly Fat Cure so far. I havent followed it to a "T" due to sugar withdrawl headaches, but have definitely reduced my sugar and processed carbs intake.
The meals listed in the book are easy and tasty. I really like making personal pizzas! They recommend Sara Lee Mr. Pita bread as the crust, but I have been using the Chebe, Frozen, on the go, Pizza Crusts. They are on the pricy side but IRRESISTIBLE! (And the nutrition information on this site is incorrect for these, so do not use it as a reference!)
@dstinemetz- Thanks and congratulations on your upcoming wedding! I am hoping to fight the flub now, so I wont be down to the wire later on. With all the stress a wedding can bring, I wouldn't want it to get the best of me!
Just found this cool website. It is a photographic height/weight chart. Thought I would share

Good luck this week!

@cherry - I can specifically relate to what you're going through, hovering in the low 180s as I just went through that myself! You WILL hit 170s very very soon, I would guess in the next week or 2. Push through it and it will happen!
Hope everyone else is doing well with this new week. I did my run last night and stayed within my calorie limit, which I'm proud of. I can't believe it's already mid July. In about a month I will be flying to Asia! I just found out in addition to Hong Kong and Malaysia, I'll be staying in Singapore for a few days as well! I know I keep talking about this but I'm excited so recently it's all I've been talking about lol. I hope we can all reach or come close to reaching our vacation goals!!!!
Hope it's okay if I join! I've been doing the same thing you all have, but without posting. I got back from my freshman year of college a month ago, and have been working off the weight I gained there since a little before school ended. I know I'm not overweight, but I carry most of my weight on my stomach and spend a lot of time at the beach. I want to get back to my pre-college weight and go a little lower so I have some wiggle room.
Unfortunately, I woke up 1.5 pounds up from yesterday. I know its probably water weight, but I did eat a big late dinner, my house is currently filled with chocolate, and I definitely haven't been pushing myself in the gym lately. Hopefully participating more on this site will help me control myself!
July 4: 120.6
July 11: 118.2
Goal: 110
Can I join??? I belonged to another thread but that officially ended 6/21 and I had stopped counting before that.
But I am back! I didn't gain too much back but I did gain so let's see if I can get myself back down before my Florida vacation 8/27/11!!
I also just joined a gym and I hate exercising so there should be some funny stories coming up.
Height: 5'7"
Start weight (2/11): 180 lbs
Current Weight: 170 lbs
Goal weight by September 1: 160 lbs
I've been doing good so far this week...trying to incorporate more fruit back into my menu and staying away from junk food.
:o)

Hi guys:
I would like to join this group too! I want to lose some weight before school so I can look better next year. Also, I want to set up the good habits during the summer, when things are less hectic, so I can maintain them when school starts!
Here are my stats:
Height: 5'4
Starting Weight: 145.0 lbs (started on May 15, 2011)
Current Weight: 137.6 lbs (today, July 13, 2011)
Goal Weight by September 1: 120 lbs
Ultimate Goal: 110 lbs
I plan to use 1200 calorie diets+light exercise! I hope we all achieve our goals this summer!

Thanks for the encouragement shsassy! It's been a frustrating few weeks that's for sure. I think though that it's mostly been water weight. It's been so hot lately, it's gross. My weight has been fluctuating daily, which I realize is normal...just why can't it fluctuate in a downwards progression? The closest I've gotten to 170 so far has been 180.2, then blamo! heat+water weight and I'm back to 183. Annoying!
No worries on the Asia trip chat. I can totally understand why that would have you in a whirl of excitement! Cambridge while a nice town certainly isn't any exciting! I know, I'm in Guelph and it's not a whole bunch of fun here either.
naznaz90: Poptarts being bad for you? Never! ![]()
katspell: Burgers do pose a challenge! I usually throw away the bun and choose more salad-y (is that even a word?) like toppings.
kari87bear: You should witness me trying to find bread at the supermarket! People driving there carts around mine, with that annoyed look as I hover over yet another loaf to read it's packaging. My boyfriend has given up on pushing me to "just pick one!" As I explain that I like my sandwiches to have two slices of bread and not one. This is important stuff! Ha!
So today is my daughters 12th Birthday! Dinner out and Birthday cake! Think I might have the perfect excuse for a "cheat" day. Then back to the grind tomorrow. Hope everyone else is sticking with it and feeling good.
How is everyone doing? Should we be doing a weigh in every Monday?
I'm down over a pound but I know that 3200 calorie day (damn you again - bread pudding!) is going to get me soon :(
I went grocery shopping yesterday so now have lots of stuff to eat at home & at work!
I <3 VH Steamers & Healthy Choice steamers! Wish they weren't so darned expensive though ![]()
Hiya Jess,
It seems that weigh ins are Mondays and the first weigh in was Monday of this week. Congrats on being down over a lb!
I haven't tried the VH Steamers yet but I've tried quite a few of the Healthy Choice ones! I only buy them if they go on sale, and they're still rather expensive! Which are your favourites? My favourite of the ones I've tried are the Chicken & Red Pepper Alfredo and also the Thai Chicken curry one.
Thanks shsassy! I'm surprised how much of a difference it makes to be exercising, last time I only reduced calories & it took me 1.5 years to lose 30 pounds, verrrry slowly!
The 'Roasted Beef Merlot' & 'Grilled Chicken Marinara' of those for sure! The VH Steamers I've tried have all been good but the Sesame chicken is SO GOOD, it's 400 cals though
Most have water chestnuts, I love that!
I like to do the Healthy Choice Steamers for sides... my favorite is Roasted Red Potatoes, Green beans in a rosemary sauce... I'm kind of limited because my husband doesn't any veggies besides potatoes and green beans. *sigh* He eats like a 2 year old! But I also try making him a side (pasta usually, because he loves pasta... Italian guys) and I have a salad.
Hope everyone's week is going good! I've been sleep deprived this last week because my A/C wasn't working, but now it's fixed and I've slept more than 4 hours... I'm back in the game! Going to the gym after work, hopefully.
