that Summer grind! Girls weight loss goals between July 1 - September 1
Hi everyone! I'm going on an amazing caribbean vacation with a group from school at the end of this summer and I'm really motivated to lose those pounds before its time to leave. I'm looking for some amazing people to join me! Let's motivate each other :) What are your goals and reasons? Does anyone have any workout plans or tips to share?
These are my stats:
Height: 5'5
Starting weight: 195
Current Weight: 185
Goal weight by September 1: 165-170
Ultimate goal: 140-150
So I didn't weigh myself this week... because I KNEW it's be terrible. I'm bloated and I ate too much this weekend but didn't exercise enough. I'm stressed and it's showing on my tummy. :(
Hopefully this week will bring things better. I've got my final dress fitting today and I'm very nervous... add that to my final paper being due tonight.

I feel really good about this week because I'm getting back to my normal exercise routine. I have a lot of trouble doing strength training for any length of time on my own, so I've been trying to do it for ten or so minutes after running.
dstinemetz - sometimes leaving the scale alone is a good idea because otherwise things can get overwhelming. Good luck with all your big events.

Yay, I'm still slowly losing weight. <3
I'm getting back into exercising again (after my injury). Going for an hour walk whenever I can and slowly making my knee stronger.
Sorry I'm a day late. My surgery went fine and I'm on the mend now. I can probably be back to my exercise in another day or so. Though I have to check with my doctor. I think I might have a collapsed vein from the IV, so until that's sorted better to not risk it. Thanks for the well wishes, I totally think they helped! Congrats to all on sticking with it and to those who lost.

shsassy: I'm not a big fan of Mondays weigh ins either but it has helped to discourage weekend food rampages.
I'm at my lightest on Fridays it seems.

ikiibaii: I've heard that walking the same distance as running burns the same calorie, just doesn't give you the aerobic-heart benefits. I don't know if that's 100% true, but walking is a great start. Best of luck with the knee strengthening. Time and patience is what you need.
Cherrysolitaire: I'm glad your surgery went well, hope your not in pain or anything. Blown veins can suck! I've had 4 veins blown when the nurse was trying to start and IV and push the drugs. It can hurt. But the body heals pretty quickly, so you'll be back to tip top shape soon.

dstinemetz: Thanks. ;) I'll definitely be patient - the last thing I want is another repeated knee injury. And phew, that makes me feel a lot better. I really do want to run (or at least jog), but if walking will cause me less pain and still help me lose a similar amount of calories, I'm all for walking.

I think I've been a little bit MIA lately! I'm pretty sure I missed last week's weigh in. I've taken a 2 week break from eating right and exercising. And now I feel like complete CRAP about myself. So here I am ready to jump back on the wagon with a good week :)

Thanks everyone for the well wishes, I totally think they're helping! Turns out it's not a blown vein after all but an infection, still off free weights until it's healed which I find very annoying and my arms feel saggy

We had a run of two lovely cool-ish days here and my weigh ins were better then usual so I'm thinking water weight from the heat is throwing off my figures. On the high note however I tried on a size 10 this week and it fit a tad snug but nothing my spanks can't smooth over. I'm now at 30+ lost, come on 160's! ![]()

Slowly dropping. But I might have to stop exercise for around two weeks, depending on whether or not I have an ingrown toenail. Let's hope I don't have it. *shudder*
Edit: Turns out that the ingrown toenail was just a scare. I had just begun to cut my nails by myself (sheltered little girl here, haha) so I got shocked over something that could easily be cut away. My parents quickly showed me how to cut them out and problem solved. Now I feel like a fool. ^^;

I haven't been doing very well this week, between stress and being away from home I haven't been hitting my nutrition goals. BUT I didn't gain! I thought I'd be over 130 for sure. Hopefully this week I can do better, it doesn't look promising in the exercise department but that means I just have to stick to the nutrition and calories!

So I just looked back at my ORIGINAL post on here... my goal weight was 128 down from 133. Exactly 5lbs between 1 July and 1 September!
I DID IT!!! I made my goal and I didn't even know it! Of course, my ultimate goal is 125 and then maintain, but I'm so proud. I weight 128 when I got out of basic training and haven't been 127 since high school (about 5 years ago). This made me very happy. ![]()
Since I'm 5'1 that's still at the higher end of the weight spectrum, but I'm in the military and need to hold my own in the strength department. I'm hoping that I can be a strong 125.

So, at very best, I can get to 122-123 by September 1. My vacation is September 9 so mayyyybe 121 by then.
I'm just dissapointed that with going to the gym & eating better (with a few slip ups) that I've only lost 3 pounds over 6 weeks.

I have to admit, the weight loss train is slowing down for me. I tried very hard to be good last week and it paid off with a 2 lb. loss.
Last Week's Weight: (177.2)
Current Weight: 175.2
Goal weight by September 1: 165
Ultimate goal: 150
Now i'm still 10 lbs. away from my goal weight for September 1, but I'm ok with this taking a bit longer than expected. I'm ok with it because I don't care how long it takes, I just care that the weight is coming off and it is. Since March of this year I've lost 15 lbs. Doesn't sound like a whole lot but it's important to remind ourselves of the progress we've already made thus far. I am proud! I'd like to lose another 15 or 20, so I'm not going anywhere :P
I am leaving for my trip to Asia on Thursday! I can't wait! I don't think I'm going to gain much as I'll be doing a lot of walking and hiking. And I won't be back until Sept. 4th. So I guess this may be my last post here! I'll be looking for another group to join after September. Good luck to all!!!
